So far these are the 3 that stand out as potential builds that would be super handy for me. The Euna is a definite. I’d probably grab one more while I’m there. The Compressor is tempting because it looks pretty easy and my Accountant is ace but noisy. The Muzzle noise gate looks a little more faffy but a noise gate would be extremely handy for me, particularly with the sidechain option.

Usually only some part of the electronics is battery powered, like the tone stack. Therefore the only "active" part of the system is the tone, while everything else, pickups, vol, and blend is hi-Z. There are very few systems that are active from pickups to the output. As an example, systems that have an active mixing instead of plain blend pot are very few: John East, some EMG sets, Noll... -

Last night we played The Burton in Brixham. Our 2nd NYE there. The last one wasn't great, so we were hoping for more this time. We only got this one recently as we were booked for the 20th December originally and were offered this foe double pay and a crate of Bus so took it. For the most part a good crowd and some enthusiastic dancing in the 2nd set. I dressed up with a festive Santa Hawian shirt and matching bucket hat, with my shades to finish the look. A good couple of sets by us with only a few 'moments'. Back home by 1.45am. My usual rig of StingRay, RM 500 evo II & BF210. foot wear were my slip on Skechers. Got a couple of months off now before the next gig.

I've been collecting and pedal-testing solidly since COVID but a lot's been happening this year and, as my priorities are changing, it's time to start letting some of these pedals go, including those that six months ago it would have been unthinkable selling. I'm selling a Doom 2 in Jade Metallic finish. It's from the September 2023 release of 100 pedals and has been given the 'high gain' mod by Spencer at 3 Leaf Audio. The mod makes it a little harsher and more abrasive than the standard gain units but it gets synthy and still has the Doom 2 magic. The mod was originally aimed at guitar players so I'm pricing it at £320 £285 on here. Cosmic Metallic pedal sold. Original ad retained for transparency: Up on the block are a couple of Doom 2s, one being the standard gain unit (in Cosmic Metallic (the purple one)) SOLD and a high gain unit (in Jade Sparkle)). Both units are from the limited runs of 100 in 2023 and are the latest spec. £360 each (including UK Royal Mail Special Delivery postage). Neither has been used on a pedalboard and they're basically mint in box. The Wicked theme was not intentional. I'm not really looking for trades at this point but there are a handful of pedals I'm curious about: COG T-70 v2; Hamstead Subspace GE, and Chase Bliss Spectre.

I suppose it depends how band finances are set up. All the ones I have been in have not had joint owned kit, favouring individuals buying specific items so if they leave we know exactly whose is whose (and what the other band members then need to buy). Also the reason why my garage is shrine of random pieces of PA/lighting kit!!

Well I nearly had a gig today. Got a dep sorted, unknown band at two hour's notice 40 minutes away, and had to pick up my gear with a detour. Driving across I got a message from a disconsolate BL who'd had his band replaced by another. Possibly dodged a bullet, even though it was a good paying gig, I knew a lot or could busk most of it but in retrospect two or three hours prep rather than an hour would have been needed.

Definitely agree re sound; when one of the guitar players in the band I'm in bought a bass IV, switching to a Fallout bass solved a lot of problems. I'd been using a very nice P bass up to then but the Fallout sounding so even across the board, ( particularly played high up the dusty end) it really sat in the spectrum below the bass IV without competing for the same space. I marvel sometimes how 2 30 inch scale basses ( admittedly one into a guitar rig, one into a bass amp setup) can separate out so well. The Fallout is capable of being physically an octave above the bass IV yet feeling much deeper. It didn't work like that with the Precision. All very subjective and unique to that band situation obviously. -
Yeah nothing is lacking, for sure. Any potential pickup swap would only need to be for “voicing” preferences.

Small, articulate Bass Cab in excellent condition complete with a Roqsolid cover which is also in excellent condition and cost over £90 alone. Dual Speakon / 1/4” Jack input & link. The OR-110 is a front-ported lightweight 1 x 10” cab with a custom designed Ashdown speaker – making the perfect companion for the OriginAL Head or extension for the OR-C112 combo to achieve the maximum output from the 300-watt power section. The cabinet is constructed using premium grade far eastern ply and is wadded to retain specific frequencies. The fine-tuned reflex port allows for more air to be moved, giving the little cab a surprising volume. Rated at 150 watts at 8 ohms, the OR-110 is one of the most portable cabs on the market. Adding further convenience, there is a top mounted grab handle positioned to offset the weight of the speaker magnet for ease of transport. For those pub gigs, pairing two of the OR-110 cabs provides enough volume to keep up with most drummers without having to DI through the PA. Otherwise – one OR-110 cab alone sits very well as a personal stage monitor, when using the OriginAL Head’s on-board DI to feed the front of house PA. Ashdown have focused their product offering over the past few years, delivering some really inspiring products focused towards the needs of the modern bass player. The OR-110 is no exception to the rule, building on the success of the OriginAL Range and adding something of real value to bass players delivering everything you need from a compact rig solution. The OR-110 Specifications are as follows: H:360mm 14.1” W: 390mm 15.3” 😧 360mm 14.1” Weight: 10.7KG (23.5lbs) Power: 150w Impedance: 8Ohms .Collection from North Staffordshire preferred as l do not have a suitable box at present, but l may be able to source one in the not too distant future & if so the postage would be at cost to the buyer👍

I don’t do New Year resolutions as such but I do review my goals periodically in my Bullet Journal. This will require some reflection, which I have yet to do because of (1) NYE gig, (2) house guests. However I have sacked off the predictable pub covers gigs to leave space for: (1) Bowie tribute; (2) Glam covers startup; (3) Rockabilly/country covers/originals; (4) Anything else that seems fun and/or interesting.
