  2. There are a few versions of the Zodiac. The Zodiac EXP was the entry model. It has a 20 fret neck unlike the other models which have 21 frets and just the split coil pickup. Mine was the red one in the centre. It's a decent P-bass, not too heavy and has a slim jazz bass style neck. The next version of Zodiac was the BXP model. Those have the same slim neck but with 21 frets and a jazz single coil added to the bridge position. Very nice basses. The alder body keeps the weight down. Choice of pickups allow for use across many styles, it shines in a classic rock setting. Finally there was the Zodiac De Scorpio, signature model for the Megadeath player. Mine are pictured either side of the red EXP. One can be forgiven if thinking that Megadeath connection meant a bass designed for 'Thrash' but that is not the case here. Ellefson did not want a carbon copy of his own bass, instead he wanted his name on a bass anyone could use and something he would have wanted himself when starting out. He chose a standard BXP Zodiac and asked for a mirror PG as a nod to Phil Lynott, the addition of Seymour Duncan pickups was a Peavey marketing decision, something Ellefson thought unnecessary. I'm of the opinion the EXP is good to get started playing but the BXP will not only get you started but stand you in good stead for many years to come. I'm an unabashed fan of the Zodiac BXP 😎
  3. Nice to see another Kay in the U.K. Only 20 minutes away, but there's just too much mojo for me to tempted. The neck damage is enough to put most people off.
  4. We have a new guitarist joining the blues band who is a Line 6 Helix user and doesn't have a guitar amp. At home, he uses a couple of large studio monitors. I'm guessing we can take a feed off the Helix system and run it into the PA , and put some of the signal into the vocal monitors. Surely it can't be that simple? If anyone else is using a Helix system and has any advice I'd be glad of it. Do we use 2 mono or one stereo channel? Do we attempt to mix in stereo for FOH? (I hope not, I think it's mostly a waste of time having stereo FOH for the kind of gigs we do). What do we do about the other guitarist, who does use an amp on stage and for most of his FOH sound? Not looking to go in-ears or anything like that, but if it can be a catalyst to reduce the on-stage volume that would help me control feedback with the upright bass.
  5. Lovely sounding Ashdown spyder with its 2 x 12AX7 valve pre amp. Case is a bit tatty but nothing major and amp is fully functional and working. Can be tested and played here in sunny Bolton. **Postage in UK may now be an option ay buyers cost as i have some packing material to hand**

  7. Rock Me Gently - Andy Kim
  8. When I saw the title, I thought/hoped you meant one of these: Shoulda known better!
  9. I used to work there and remember Maiden rehearsing - I made teas and coffees and cleaned up the rooms. Have some great memories - around 1974 to 77 I think
  10. Ashdown NM2 in good used condition and full working order, selling as no longer needed 👍
  11. 6 of the 10 icons already gone. Beautiful basses.
  12. I actualized to 3.80 with the first turn on and was reading about update and it's true, ZeroAmp Bass DI is based in SansAmp. I tried two drop pedals as well. Another thing I forgot is I need a delay for Secretly. So, drop, delay, preamp...maybe switch controller... better to work with the HX Stomp. I don't find a pedal for Twisted, wah or synth. Do you know? Thanks
  13. I know it was a joke, I was just suggesting someone would need your unique taste to feel the same way about a triple pup Greco
  14. I've finally decided to sell my ATS amp and cab. Quite honestly, I think these are some of the best bits of kit on the market with a phenomenal, articulate sound. The LB MK3 is a beauty with one channel ideal for acoustic or double bass and the other providing loads of tweakability! The amp has its own tough carry bag and cables. The ATS SL310 cab weighs approx 10kg, and is really portable. The tweeter is easily adjustable and is a great addition to enhance the sound. The ATS Italy company is in limbo as the owner has retired but it currently looking for someone to take over the business. Collection would be ideal but I can post securely at buyers cost.
  15. I know it's harder for some folk, but at the end of the day we're the entertainment. It's our job to convince people that they're having a good time (and hopefully to buy more drinks etc). If that happens then everybody wins and we hopefully get rebooked. For me that starts with looking like I'm enjoying myself. I'm lucky enough to be able to gig as a hobby, so it's supposed to be fun, otherwise why would I bother?
  16. Does that mean you've just bought yourself a Sunn? 😁
  17. Now reduced by 42% 😊
