RickW started following Sandberg California II VS4 - Black Soft Aged

Hi This is the first Sandberg I bought. Had from new since 2018, bought from GuitarGuitar in Epsom. It plays superbly well in my opinion and also has all the tonal scope of the Sandberg pre-amp, or not if you pull out the Volume knob and go passive. Reason for sale, I don't use it and it seriously deserves to be played I can 'post' at your expense. Alternatively, come and collect or meet at a mutually convenient location.

Stub Mandrel started following Which Mic to use for this gig?

I would guess you want cardioid (to get the full sound including any fingerboard slapping and in case they move around a bit), not supercardioid unless they are rooted to the spot or the mic can be well back (unlikely). So the SM58 Beta would be out. Other than that, I don't know enough to help. A vanilla SM58 would do it well enough even if there are better options.

JoeS started following Fender Road Worn Jazz Bass
-

Picked this up off eBay a couple of months ago because I fancied a Jazz - turns out I just don’t get on with them! In as good condition as a factory road worn instrument can be, professionally set up with medium gauge D’Addario nickel roundwounds and Fender gig bag included. Collection from Haywards Heath preferred, but I’m willing to travel for a meet up within reason. Would entertain trades for a Precision of similar value, or a Vintera II/JMJ Mustang. Better photos to come if/when the sun comes out.

For sale, I have 6 Celestion BN-200 neo drivers available in very good used condition from a recently dismantled 6x10 which became too much to haul. Currently the X version (Thanks Chris)! is retailing at £115 just about everywhere so I think it's a fair saving. How much difference there is between this and the X i'm unsure of. Super lightweight compared to ceramic, 200 watt and 8 ohms. Buy singles or in pairs, quads, it's up to you and your project/upgrade. Postage negotiable dependent on numbers purchased. Cheers.

Many thanks for the useful replies to the previous posting. I managed to get a jack socket for my dead SRF700. I have given it to my local repair man and it seems that it may need a full preamp replacement. Whilst it does work now it crackles louder than the sound signal. Does anyone know where I can get one. Most of the sites I have been to don't stock them. I guess I'm looking for one of these or even the whole wiring loom. Or even if there is something I can replace it with. 😥

Using column PA speakers as stage monitors?
dave_bass5 replied to Beedster's topic in PA set up and use
We use Powered PA cabs for monitors (for those that dont use IEM) and I hate it. Drummer has a 1x15 right by his kit, and his mic not only picks the drums up, but the monitor as well. He is very old school and won't change. Its like they want to be professional and want good monitors, but have no clue that this is overkill for our gigs and effects the sound for the audience. I now insist we sound check with all mic's active and try and balance it all out front. On smaller gigs we might as well not even take a PA. In fact the monitors have the same power as our FOH. I guess this counts as having a back up if nothing else.
