  1. Past hour
  2. Good decision but I’m sad for whoever buys it at an inflated price
  3. Totally agree with you, IWYB is a stellar piece of bass writing and playing. I think the problem is he didnt really play on that much that is known, as saxophone was his primary instrument which he played on the Steve McQueen film, Bullit among others.
  4. I subscribed because it was a print, interestingly they said they could not send issue 12 out to me as they didn't have any in stock. However they said that to compensate they have given me access to all back issues so I can read it digitally. I totally agree that if it's online only I will just read free websites. It is such a shame as the overall experience has been really poor, magazines not arriving and continuing to pay each month. I have recouped the money for the issues that I have not received. I have actually ordered the missing issue 12 from another website that sells magazines so hopefully I will have the full print collection. Such a shame
  5. Hi @jery978. Welcome to basschat.co.uk Do have a look at https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/3-introductions/ and tell us a little about yourself.
  6. Hi Mark, sorry on holiday with poor reception and just got this. When I get back on Sunday, I’ll see if it fits in the box for the Ampeg 410 I just bought. There is someone else that wants to know if I can post it.
  7. I do like a Gibson J200 - I was a big fan of the Reverend Gary Davis who used them for his fingerpicked blues. However, I could never afford the real thing. So, off to Ali Express I go. Strictly browsing....
  8. Tuner.pdf Instructions I've got the Joyo and Guitar Man Copies / Variants. Bomb Proof and a handy 9v Out, also works from the battery on mine... useful to power a batt-less mini pedal.
  9. Boss WL-50. Performed for every gig and rehearsal without a glitch for 5 or more years until I switched to the Legato bugs. No box but here's the Boss page: https://www.boss.info/global/products/wl-50/ These are just shy of £200 new, I'm asking £100 posted to UK mainland. Alternatively try before you buy in Benfleet, Essex.

  10. £300! Really, this is a top notch bass for the price of a Squier!!
  11. OK one last thing to bring everyone up to date, @police squad asked about a sealed cab. Once you have the speaker's mechanical and electrical properties loaded into WinISD it's a matter of seconds to model a range of cabs so I sent him this: The purple line is the sealed cab, the red line is a 90l cab and the blue and green lines are for 200 and 300l cabs. I actually quite like the sealed cab, it has the flattest response and -3db is around 75Hz so all the second harmonics of a 4 string bass will be accurately reproduced and Eminence also have this design which they describe as "ultra clean" which is probably a very fair description of how this would sound. However you can see how much bass is lost compared with the three ported cabs and the bass hump at 100Hz will also warm up the sound and add a bit of thump which is what Martin wanted. I'd had the other two cabs there to play with different cab volumes to see if I could squeeze a bit more bass out of the cab. The 300l cab in green has a whole lot more bass and a flat response but 300l is an absurd size for a cab if you have to transport it. I'm only showing this to demonstrate that all cabs are compromises of practicality cost and sound and I suppose to say that I did look to see if there were any advantages to a slightly bigger cab.

  16. Excellent condition for a 30 year old bass, with no issues. Classic Musicman Stingray style bridge with mutes. One of those basses that is so good that I've owned it twice! Only point of note is the 2 small holes in the pickguard where someone mounted a thumb-rest. Weight is 9lb (exactly) or 4.1kg. The neck is less wide and less 'full' than a Stingray neck and is often compared more to a Jazz profile than say a Precision. This is the earliest version with the metal battery compartment cover. Trades - 34" Sandberg... possibly.
  17. Thanks David. Martin @Mottlefeeder managed to find them too. The "small vented cab" is 45l and to 55Hz for a single driver. My first guess was to use a 90l cab tuned to 50 hz which is the approximate volume of the Ampeg cab we are copying so in this case it's reassuring to know I've come up pretty much with the same design as Eminence. It may even be that Ampeg knew of this design when it developed the VB212 but to be fair there are only so many sensible solutions for any given driver.

  20. Go Away - Living Colour
  21. Excellent condition with no issues. It is soft aged at the factory. Has been modified with a J pup at the bridge position (DiMarzio) and the controls are presently Vol / Pan (no tone control as I've never seen the point!). I should have put the scratchplate back on, I do have it here and it will be included. Super low action. 23. Warwick Streamer Stage I Year – 1991 Colour – Purple sparkle/metallic Body Finish – Gloss Body Wood – Maple Neck Finish – Gloss Neck Wood – Maple Fretboard – Wenge Frets – 24 Scale Length – 34″ Weight – 9lbs (exact) Electronics – Active 3 band MEC Pickups – MEC PJ Condition - excellent with no visible marks of note and all electronics work fine. This was a custom finish (factory) and on the rear of the bass under the clear lacquer to coat is the legend ‘This instrument is a property of Warwick, Germany’. It was used at NAMM and also as a demo bass for Warwick artists/endorsers. The sound is just about as big and clear as you can get! Only trade might be a light weight Sandberg 34".
  24. Just-a-nut 3 on my custom bass that has bell brass frets. It also has the Warwick 2 part brass bridge. Other basses U would prefer to have a zero fret, but usually In leave everything original and won't change the hardware on my basses, the Spector Euro and MM are stock. If I don't like how it sounds, I don't buy that instrument.
  25. voting thread is up gents what a great bunch of tracks, some to make you smile , some intense and some really get you moving, superb
