  1. Past hour
  2. Dan bought my Fender combo and has been an absolute pleasure to chat with throughout. He paid immediately and took the time to let me know it had arrived safely! Deal with Dan in absolute confidence!
  3. This popped up on my YouTube
  4. @bass_dinger you've inspired me to do ABRSM grades....well, at least to have an introductory lesson with a local teacher that is in a great local Jazz/Funk band. I played a bit when I was young (Grade 1) and then have aimlessly played on and off as an adult and not improved much and have probably have picked up some bad habbits. I think some lessons and a formal structure and clear goals will hopefully help. My target is to pass Grade 1 within a few months (as it was so long ago I did it I think it'd be worth doing again) and Grade 2 by the end of 2026. That might be a bit ambitious but is hopefully about the right level of challenge to keep me on my toes and keep me motivated. In my mind right now the longer-term ambition is Grade 3 by end of 2027, Grade 4 by end of 2028, Grade 5 in 2029 (when I turn 50), that'd do me as far as formal learning is concerned - a good level to impressively play pub band type stuff, (I do already play keys in pub band stuff, but I'm just getting away with bashing simple ska/reggae offbeat chords in time, ideally I'd like to bust out the occasional fancy solo).
  5. I set mine flat too and only ever touch the Taste control - typically to around 10pm for a little more depth. I’m beginning to have second thoughts about letting it go…….🤦‍♂️
  6. This is probably my favourite joke EVER!!
  7. thanks for the information!
  8. I generally don't connect wireless (tend to just use the CQ as is) hence I tend to forget that my android devices need fettling when I do go to use them. It's even more relevant when infrequent users in various bands that I'm in want to connect and set IEM; I generally have to go round and get folk hooked up after disabling networks.
  9. This video just released from JHS. While the pedal sounds good, it's Bob Myer and his hoard of treasures I'm blown away by. Bob is one cool dude.
  10. Well, put in for my first mortgage at the ripe age of 38!

    Wish me luck

I may need to sell some treasures 😞

  11. Acquired two basses this year, early in January a Goodfellow spitfire 5, and then in the spring time a Yammy trb5 mk1 slapcut job . Both completely different but I’m really enjoying that, and it’s a privilege to be the lastest custodian of them x
  12. That’s so good! And it’s important too. It an be a slog and wearing, can’t it. I know that it has been with our lad.
  13. Anton Yelchin managed it too. Both of them were following the example of Monty Python in the Upper-Class Twit of the Year contest.
  14. What a great story! Pics please?! (And same to @Greg Edwards69 maybe with your full rig if you have one to hand?!)
  15. Today
  16. That's certainly an acquired taste! Somewhat reminds me of the Jackson Anti Gravity too, which was designed by the late Harry Fleishman. This was the original prototype, which borrows heavily from Kubicki. The production instrument by the Jackson Custom Shop kept the overall shape, but without the fanned frets, with regular magnetic pickups and with a pointy headstock:
  17. Yeah, saw that, thanks. Strangely Amazon are now showing out of stock with no option to purchase. I have about £60 balance with them so that was the reason i went with Amazon. If other places get stock in before i get the order I’ll cancel and use somewhere else.
  18. The best purchase was my Darkglass Anagram. I've only had it a few months, and it's getting rapidly getting better and better with DG's speedy updates. They're so quick, I'm struggling to keep up! Worst was some IMA Helix presets. There's nothing wrong with them - they sound great. But redundant now I've moved over to the Anagram. Honourable mention goes to my GR Bass 1x12 active cab. It's fantastic and logic-defyingly light. But it only gets used for rehearsals. That said, this and the Anagram have made loading in/out of rehearsal and gigs much more enjoyable.
  19. This pedal should work with the Roland FP-30X if you don't want to buy the whole cabinet: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mq9ET5v
  20. And this one, about that same awful song:
  21. @dave_bass5 Andertons were estimating next Thursday for their stock so hopefully you won't be waiting too long!
  22. Yeah, although 4 hours wouldn’t get me through a rehearsal. Hoping it will work with the Chocolate plus.
  23. Looks like a useful practice and gigable backup tool, especially with the built-in battery.
  24. I've got almost the same bass (mine is unlined) - I ended up swapping the pickups (as the default hum buckers were lacking in clarity) and stripping out the (dodgy) electronics to convert to passive, along with giving the fingerboard a wee sand down as it had some dings and flat spots on it. Great option for a lightweight and portable fretless.
  25. Ordered from Amazon for £109. No idea how long the wait is but it's exactly what I feel the GP-5 is missing.
