  2. Interestingly, the U45 has had superb reviews on Thomann: Xvive U45 4.9★ (28 reviews) Swiff WX520 3.8★ (21 reviews) and the older U4 which has been around the block a fair bit longer: Xvive U4 4.5★ (361 reviews)
  3. @kwmlondon I am told that they are now on a 5-string bass. Sorry that I was unable to give you better news.
  4. Hi @MattW the cab is a tad over 24" wide, a tad over 24" tall, and 16" deep. I'l travelling north in the next couple of weeks so meet up would be an option I'm sure 👍
  5. Oh really? I had no idea. That's a shame...😪
  6. Up for sale is my absolutely stunning 5 string 2020 Lakland Skyline 55/02 in trans purple. It has an ash body with beautiful quilted maple top, an ebony fretboard on a flat-sawn maple neck with graphite reinforcement bars. This bass is in excellent condition, it’s been gigged but has been very well looked after and there’s no obvious damage - it’s just not a brand new bass, I’d say it’s 9/10 and can’t find anything specific to note that’s negative about it 35” Scale with a 1.81” nut width, 22 fret with a radius of 10-13”. It is strung with Sadowsky blue label nickel 45-130T’s with the Tapered B string, so the combination of these strings and the Lakland neck gives this bass one of the best sounding B strings you could ask for. Pickups and preamp are both Lakland’s own LH3 which are in both the U.S. 55/94 and 55/02’s as stock. The preamp is Vol/Blend/Treb/Mid/Bass (cut and boost), however you can open the control panel in the band and change the frequency of the Mid control using the dip switches (275/600/900/1100hz). There is also a coil tap for the bridge humbucker pickup - towards the neck and engages the front coil only (60’s jazz) mid position is the full humbucker (both coils - stingray mode) and pointed towards the bridge is rear coils only (70’s jazz). The front pickup only also does a pretty convincing P Bass sound for a bass that’s clearly not a P Bass making this one of the most insanely versatile basses you can get - it’s extremely hard to get a bad sound out of this (trust me I’ve done my best! 😁) Included in the sale is an almost new ‘Protection Racket’ gigbag and Shipping via DPD Next Day (within the UK). It’ll be extremely well packaged and boxed so it’s safe for the journey, or collection from DH2, County Durham is also welcome Priced for a quick sale, no trades and no offers - this is a superb quality bass, at a very good price. Thanks for looking £875 shipped
  7. Hi, thank you. The unusually situated jack is just where I changed the original three knob, four band equaliser to a two band bass/treble unit and stuck a jack socket there to fill the leftover hole. The four band equalisers I built had board mounted pots to save on wiring and reduce induced noise.
  8. It really is excellent, and very simple to dial in.
  9. As you've already demonstrated that your taste is rather different to the average Planet Rock listener, I'm sure that there will be at least three RHCP songs in the 500.
  10. That was the one. It was Volume, Pan, Bass, and Treble
  11. Ditto and ditto. Food-wise maybe we could do a bring-&-share? Richard mentioned sandwiches and Geek mentioned a giant Costco cake, and I know Costco also do trays of wraps and things, and I'd be quite happy to make some stuff to bring. Obviously I couldn't hope to make anything as utterly brilliant as The Crumble
  12. I owned this bass for a while and the build quality is exceptional. Glwts
  13. Zoom ms70cdr is quite well regarded in the synth world it seems. if you want flexibility would something like hx effects with lots of footswitches (or LT aren’t silly money any more secondhand)
  14. In a more serious vein, a second cab allows me to keep one connected in my "office" and one I can take out easily to jam with. I hate undoing all the connections and redoing them each time.
  15. Welcome and very nice bass. Why the two jack inputs?
  16. Today
  17. As many others have already said, look for a GenzBenx Neox212 or NX212. A Barefaced beater and fantastic sounding. Can't go wrong.
  18. Great little chorus pedal. Glwts
  19. Bought used earlier this year and not used a whole lot. It's a fun and surprisingly versatile instrument, just not something I'm going to get a lot of use out of. The bass has been modified with a thumbrest so you have better access to the "sweet spot" rather than playing over the neck or by the bridge. It's currently strung with the extremely nice Hofner-specific white nylon tapewounds from LaBella which will be included. Looking for £190 and open to trades for whatever. Delivery possible at buyer's expense and risk, collection preferred.

  20. Not any more! The postage from the USA for the new badge was brutal, but this rig is all about the look of it, so it had to be done! In other news, our emigration plans have moved up a gear. I don't have time to fix the foot switch and I'll not really need it - so it's available here for postage:
  21. Thats not ideal, my U4 took 13 months to break (ie, just outside waranty)!
  22. This foot controller came with my Trace Elliot amp. It's faulty - it's suspected that the switches need a clean and some use, as it's been stored for 10 years. No charge, just cover the postage - or collect from Chepstow.

  23. That's a very tidy haul, Muzz - congrats! (And hopefully you're not about to tell me that bookings were down 40% and it was actually a really crap year for you guys!) Are you guys doing a mixture of pub and function work or predominantly doing one or the other?
  24. I still have my mini rig which is kicking out about 150w but I'm going to upgrade the speakers in the TC Electronics 208 so it become 4 ohms and can handle about 400w. Its a well known upgrade, will only cost £100 and that way I can use all 280w of the Warwick Gnome iPro
  25. Not denying I'm excited about your new project John (not least for the Beat Buddy content, which is on my own project list to get up to speed on this year). Will be following with interest!
  26. Their only good stuff is their early stuff which is far too interesting to get in the list and everything post BSSM is just terrible.
