So i've been out of the BASS/Bassist loop for a little while & after feeling the pull of the low end once again i thought i drop a post to ask about catching up on Who/What i've been missing out on for the past 15 years or so? My fav's of yesteryear player were/are guys like Bromberg/Manring/Hamm/Caron/Wooten/Malone/Miller/Larue/Campagnani/Nitti...etc, so all the slapper/taper/soloist kind of bassist that do the fusion/prog type stuff id guess, I've been catching up on these guys & sofar some good & some WTF is this mess moments Now i did drop by Youtube first to see what was up/down....BIG MISTAKE, WTF is with all this BASS BATTLE/Bass influencer stuff ? (no doubt at 52 im guessing its that i just "don't get it") 2 Guys that have popped up on the radar that i have on playback loop atm are Alex Lofoco & Fernando Molinari, both monster players that also have great tunes/groove...Id say that Alex is like all my fav player fussed into one with a health amount of himself, shame he only seems to have released one album in like 8 years? So any recommendations for me ? Cheers

They do indeed, but not for through body Mustangs. To be fair, the ones I fitted were not new, but also prior to EB offering shorties. I have chopped down full length ones for top loaders too.

For me it just offers a slightly phatter tonal output on the D&G strings. It's not much, but (to my ears) enough that all the strings sound similar, rather the E&A booming and the D&G twangy. Pickup here is a Tonerider unit.

Not sure if I’ve missed the mention of Sterlings new 4 & 5 Plus models. I can only see EB launches on here. Anyway…

This one. I use a Cali 76 too. Not sure how it all works so well but I’m super pleased with the tone. I use a GK 400rb amp into any cab, I plugged into a ratty old Ampeg cab (maybe 2x12 or 4x10) and it all sounded glorious.

I think you have already answered my query 🎉 I can just change the "jack" to a "socket" or chop the expression pedal cable and add a Midi plug. I have been known to massively over think things before now.

From what I can make out, the aging is just about the colour of the white finish rather than relicing.

Still waaayyy too much gold for my liking. Each to their own, but it would have been nice to have an anniversary model that was something a bit different in terms of construction and sonics rather than just cosmetics. The Thirtieth Anniversary Stingray with a mahogany body ect is still just about the best Stingray I've ever heard. I was expecting something like that but with the added advantages of the Stingray Special revamp that has happened inbetween times. That's why I'm a bit disappointed.

Nope, never had any issue at all. Every sound engineer who has used the DI has always loved it. I know that it is transformer balanced, which the spec claims will 'avoid any hum/noise issues and eliminates the need for an external D.I./Line Driver' and that there is an amp ground lift (that to be fair, I thought was the same thing).

Non-aged and a neck profile that wasn't so skinny it was like a sleeve on the truss rod and I'd be all over it 😃

I am in a selling frenzy atm due to some weighty purchases. I have a cort space 5 for sale on here as well as an cort elrick. That aside there are some seriously nice ibanez Srs out there in the sub 500 bracket..new. love this one the sr305.
