  2. Basses are tools. Buy the bass that makes you happy. Play the bass that fits the gig.
  3. ... + unlined 🤣
  4. Due to buying a MM Stingray my Z7 is up for sale. Alder body, Heritage 3 band pre with mid freq control, passive by pass with tone control, 18 volt pre amp, Sire`s edgeless fingerboard design, string through or top mounted bridge, exc condition, weight is 4.3 kg or just under 9.5 lbs. I would prefer collection or local meet up Glasgow area.
  5. Graphs look pretty similar to me. But I take your point. Like I say. Will rarely be a stack anyway.
  6. It could still do some screwy things even without stressing the amp. At the frequency where one speaker has an impedance peak, the signal voltage across the other speaker will drop so that it has very little output, which has got to sound weird.
  7. Pretty much my take, except that I've paid from £900 to £1,650 for a gigging bass. I recently was looking for a new bass with a budget of £3k, but ended up getting something that did everything that I needed for half that amount.
  8. Could possibly deliver if anyone's interested.
  9. I used to use a china white pencil but eventually realised I needed the dots so I installed proper white plastic mini-dots.
  10. A new unopened set of Thomastik John Pearse Folk strings. Designed for classical guitar and intended to give a slightly more steel string sound. £10 posted.

  11. Lazy Bear 4 way pedalboard patchbay. Little chip on the bottom which I did today whilst removing dual lock tape. Turned the air blue, I did. Other than that, it’s in excellent condition. £20 posted.
  12. Good luck with the sale, I have one of these and they are incredible little amp heads. I echo everything you say as well, they are super clean and I think mine is louder than my Little Mark IV 500. I also run mine through my Barefaced Two10 and it sounds wonderful. Only difference, I don't think I'd ever sell mine, they are just too good 🙂
  13. The phase at 2kHz (and elsewhere) isn't a phase reversal: it's how the phase is represented when it passes 180 degrees. To see what's actually happening with the phase, you need to compensate for time of flight. Right-click on the phase curve and select Estimate IR Delay (on the latest version of REW) - or press Ctrl+Alt+E. Then have another look at the phase graph. Also, the dip at 2kHz is not typical of a phase reversal dip - unless you're using smoothing, of course, which would tend to fill in the dip.
  14. If I take the lowest ohm value stated and put them all in the calc. I appear to be 6 ohm. Which is still in the safe area for the amp. You'll all probably correct me now but that's fine. Still reading and learning.

  16. 15 speaker. First pic 10 speaker. Second pic Both impedence curves show their worst impact will be the low B kinda area. E upwards looks closer to the nominal.
  17. And make it a 9 string bass... with triplet strings, so a 27 string... double neck. So 54 strings... fretless, headless, neckthru, multiscale...

  19. Just picked up a lovely Barefaced Two10 from Pat. Great communications, all as described. Credit to the forum - Thanks Pat!
  20. This page seems to explain that impedence gets higher mostly. https://audiojudgement.com/speaker-impedance-curve-explained/ There example of a 4 ohm speaker reaching as low as 3.4 and as high as 50. High will limit power and not damage an amp. Low would result in damage. So i feel I am safest heading for 8 ohm. So if the 3 speakers have low points in hz. I'd be low chance of dropping below 4ohm. Am I barking up the wrong tree?
  21. This one is almost new. Strings from factory still have life in them…plays like butter! Includes original case.
