Knobs. Eh? Heeheehee. I don't often find myself admiring a knob but those look good.

So, this topic has caused me to venture into the workshop and sift through my stash of valves. It's resulted in the Bassman getting a bit of TLC, and a few new valves. However, I have also realised that I have more valves than I will ever need in my lifetime (what remains of it), some of which I've hoarded for decades. I'm going to start selling some off, and have put a few on Reverb already. Mods - if the following link is not allowed, please let me know, and I'll remove it and try to create an ad here in the Accessories section. Discount available for Basschatters. Also feel free to ask if you're looking for anything in particular, I also have a lot of pre-amp valves which I'm wading through now. https://reverb.com/uk/shop/robs-house-3 Rob

Trace Elliot - Rescue & Restore (and bargain finds)

I like to buy this kind faulty kit and repair it. It's part of the fun. I've had Ashdown amps, did a bit of fixing and they sound great. It's also good because it can put back into circulation otherwise decent kit. -
Coming up soon, 1st public Weeds gig in at least 9 years. We're actually thinking of having a rehearsal! Exciting support bands too, and limited capacity...

Origin and history of drink drink(v.) Old English drincan "to swallow water or other fluid," also "to swallow up, engulf" (class III strong verb; past tense dranc, past participle druncen), from Proto-Germanic *drenkanan (source also of Old Saxon drinkan, Old Frisian drinka, Dutch drinken, Old High German trinkan, German trinken, Old Norse drekka, Gothic drigkan "to drink"), which is of uncertain origin or connections, perhaps from a root meaning "to draw." Most Indo-European words for this trace to PIE *po(i)- (source of Greek pino, Latin biber, Irish ibim, Old Church Slavonic piti, Russian pit'; see imbibe). Figurative meaning "take in through the senses" is from late 12c. Especially "to imbibe spiritous liquors" from mid-15c. To drink to "salute in drinking" is by mid-13c. To drink like a fish is recorded from 1744. To drink (someone) under the table "continue drinking and remain (comparatively) sober after others have passed out" is by 1909. drink(n.) "beverage," often especially "alcoholic beverage," late Old English drinc, drync, from drink (v.). Meaning "as much of any liquid as is or may be taken at a time" is from c. 1300.

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

"ect" instead of "etc". Whatever happened to basic literacy. Oh yes, and confusing "ie" and "eg" - I assumed that somebody knew what they meant in a spec once and that led to some wasted time. -

Different online dictionaries have differing opinions on that - dictionary.com and thefreedictionary.com say it also means absorb, as does Merriam-Webster <spit>, the Cambridge dictionary and Collins both just give putting liquid in your mouth and swallowing it as the meaning. So fretboards can drink oil in the USA but not in the UK (or EU). -
How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?

Is there any scope for you to steer the sound? As a spotty teen I was roped into an indie band and ended up pushing us towards a more groove oriented sound which really pushed us forward (I was kicked out a year later and replaced by a guitarist who was given a bass) 😂 -

For sale is my TecAmp 4 x10 Cab ( L 410 -4 ) comes with fitted Rock-solid cover Bought on here just over a year ago, to go with my TecAmp black Jag Amplifier. I have now acquired a TecAmp M212, which still matches my Amp and Band but fits my Car better. I bought this on the reputation of my old 4x12 Techsoundsystem cab i had previously and regretted selling some years back. Light for a 4 x 10 with Neodymium speakers. Just what is required for rock n pop - serious trouser flapping. Good over all condition, musically in good working order. Was previously fitted with Casters to bottom of cabinet, so some scuffing to underneath, but i have returned it to new large rubber feet. See Pics. Spec: Model L 410 - 4 4 ohm. 1200 watts 1" Horn selectable, Freq35 - 19000 Hz, W=64 H=72 D=41cm weight 25kg. As seen in Top photo the cab has been fitted with blue LED light behind grill. I have modified the connection to now have discrete phono L.V. connection to front grill. So the transformer and mains plug is separate. Collection Please......

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
ProjeKtWEREWOLF replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Second rehearsal with a group. I feel a little tricked into it, really. Told it was "rock", but ended up being 90% straight up blues rock...splitting hairs maybe. It isn't my thing at all, and not particularly enjoying it. They're unprepared and musically sloppy. . I'm almost certain that I won't continue. This makes me sad because I miss playing with people, but it doesn't *feel* right. Conundrum. Equipment wise, it was a Tech 21 VT Bass 500 head with a TC Electronic k 212 cab. It's louder than my usual Orange OBC115, but doesn't sound as warm. Bass was a Sire V5 (24 fret version). Pedalboard was tuner, Empress Bass Compressor and a Laney Digbeth DI pedal. I miss my stacked fuzz pedals. - Today

NBD: Fender Player ii Modified Active Precision in Metallic Forest Green
Linus27 replied to Linus27's topic in Bass Guitars
Enjoy, they are amazing basses and the colour is so much better in the flesh. Saying that, I'm probably going to sell mine. As I mentioned in my original post, I bought it as a backup to take to Glastonbury but ended up not needing to take a backup bass. So its just sat at home, unplayed as I am predominantly a fretless player. I'm also thinking of having a break from music at the end of the year and possibly retiring after 40 years so I'm going to sell on some basses and this is one that will be going up for sale soon. Its a shame as they are amazing basses but no point having it if I'm never going to play it. -

Up is my TRB1006J. Recently bought a high end 6 and can't justify keeping it. It's been well looked after and had a full service and a brand new barrel jack in June. The previous owner had a ramp installed (very well I might add), there is also dunlop straplocks installed, other than that its all original. I can post but I would prefer not to, I travel quite a bit so Im always happy to try and make a meet up work. Mainly after cash, but try me for trades. Thanks

It’s a Avantguard I have just bought it of Walshy top man.
