So glad I still have a Kingbass and a 1985 Series 2000 for company G&L - lets hope if/who takes it over do a great job at some marketing, get some great artists on board and push it, also getting into the hands of passionate retailers helps

The sh** show that is Royal mail / ParcelForce
leschirons replied to leschirons's topic in General Discussion
P.bass now delivered and apparently in one piece. Buyer happy. That's the important bit. Now on hold to Royal mail to see if they can confirm the combo is actually where they say it is (and has been for 10 days) No doubt I'll be cut off before they answer. -
It's not so much the active basses you mention (I've recently bought a couple of German-made Sadowsky Will Lee basses and they are superb instruments) as the passive super-Fenders (or so they would have you believe) that are the subject of my ire. Don't get me wrong, a well-made passive boutique FSO can be a very worthwhile purchase, I have one or two of my own. However, when a certain amount of magical realism is included in the purchase price I am more than sceptical, let me put it to you that way.

bassbiscuits started following Kluson-style bass machine heads x 4

Hiya, I bought these last week for the bitsa P bass I am working on - sadly they don’t fit so I’m putting them up for sale. They were sold as “Kluson-style” bass machine heads and appear to be identical size and fitting to Fender Japan ones. They seem to be very well made, they work smoothly and are in near mint condition. They come with all the relevant screws and ferrules to fit them. Gutted they don’t fit my bass to be honest. There doesn’t seem to be anything that acts as a converter kit to put slimmer tuners in wider holes, so back to the drawing board for me I’m afraid. UK postage included in the price. I’ve put a regular sized 1970s Fender P bass tuner next to them for size comparison (it’s not for sale). I can dig out measurements if you need them. Any questions give us a shout. Cheers

Switching From Fingerstyle To Pick
FretsOnFire replied to greghagger's topic in Theory and Technique
I’ve been playing both pick and finger style since I started and like to think I do so very comfortably but I did play electric guitar before switching to bass due to the fact my hands are too big to play a guitar comfortably so that’s more than likely helped -

Since the separation and privatisation of Royal Mail & Parcelforce from The Post Office there can’t be much disagreement that they’ve both gone downhill. Thankfully The Post Office was retained under Govt ownership. -

I sold a P bass to Adrian. Very prompt payment and when things went absolutely pear shaped courtesy of Parcelforce, he was most understanding and patient whilst I sorted things out. Nice friendly BCer.

Ampeg PF500/Genz Benz 1 x 15 cab. Downsizing and these are now surplus.I have owned the amp from new and it's been well looked after . No issues and never let me down. These amps are bullet proof! Check specs online,it's loud and punchy with a great range of sounds. The speaker is from the very well regarded American company Genz Benz. It's from the Focus range check online for specs.I recently sold the 4 x 10 version of this and have used them in many live situations over the last 5 years.I will be sad to see this pair go but not getting any younger..Can be tried and tested in Banknock, near Falkirk. Price is the pair but could split.

It's possible if you provide the goods which are actually worth the asking price. Compare and contrast with Epiphone's prices ticking upward, but giving basically the same instruments they always did, as well as creating strange anomalies like a bolt on single pickup Grabber costing more than a thru neck, two pickup Thunderbird or a hollow bodied Jack Casady (which surely *must* cost more to make than a Grabber). It makes no sense at all.

Again agree. Since we started Knock Off in 2013 we played all over the country. At our first Rebellion in 2015 we must have had 700 watching us (1000 capacity room) whereas bands who’d been on the scene for years, but only played locally were getting much smaller audiences.

A tad confused. Are you quitting bass playing altogether , or are you still going to be playing at home ? -
Just got my hands on the Damnation Dirt Mixer. I also borrowed a reamp box which is super handy for experimenting. Back to the pedal drawing board… So far I’m leaning towards the Venus and Dagger for a good balance between clanky boost and a crispy distortion tone. The Black Math is a lot of fun though and infinitely more useable with the Dirt Mixer.
