    I walked past Sheldon Dingwall yesterday morning walking around with that bass on the way to soundcheck. I quite like the look of the bass but would probably never buy one. It's funny seeing all these basses in real life in one place. Didn't even attempt to play anything and quickly just walked around to say I've had a look. Think it cured me of any gas!

    I have two used Spector USA bass bridges that once belonged to NS2 basses I no longer own, I had taken these off in favour of black hardware. One is the heavy all-brass version, this has faded somewhat on the bass side. I’m not sure if this could be polished up. The other is the lighter, aluminium version, this one in better condition. It is considerably lighter. Note: these will not drop into a Euro bass without some re-routing to enlarge the space slightly. £150 for each bridge or £285 for the pair. Price includes UK shipping.

    Forgot about this thread, I’ve been trying a few songs that have that great African vibe which has taken me to learning something new to me which is Seben bass along the lines of this, quite a lot of the songs are based around a 1-4-5 progression but getting up to speed is pretty tricky

    selling my incredible 1975 Musicman HD130 amp. Bought this back in 2021 and had a flight case made it for it straight away. Was serviced just before I bought it as well. Sounds amazing.

    Great sounding cab. In really good condition, cover is a bit tatty, but has done it job keeping cab clean.

    My playing style is a mix of John McVie, Duck Dunn and Bob Babbitt. The sound in my head is those guys, with a massive dose of Nathan East and all the guys Keb Mo has used on his albums in the last 30 years, especially Reggie McBride. IMO buy the best gear you can find, especially the cabs, and make sure each part of the signal chain compliments all the other parts. I am terrible when faced with an amp full of sliders. I have no idea what to do with all those frequencies and it all swims before my eyes!! I'm happiest with 3 controls. If I can't get it done with bass, mid and treble I bought the wrong amp. My Aguilar amps are perfect. Whoever designed them had the same sound in his head as me. All the controls are set at 12 o'clock. I rarely change the amp EQ from one gig to the next and never once the gig has started. I don't use pedals. I'll always bring 2 basses, usually a Jazz and a P, and I'll play the one that sounds best on the night. I'm usually sound checked in less than 20 seconds.

    I remember back in the 1980's when G&L had big glossy adverts in all the American guitar magazines with various prominent musicians endorsing their wares. Larry Graham had an L2000, and Dee Murray had an L1000, if I remember correctly (it's a long time ago.) They kind of lost that marketing edge and became a respected but not-so-prominent brand. I think one problem they had, similar to pre-EB- MusicMan, is that the guitars were never as popular as the basses. In the guitar business "doing the double" is pretty essential for long term success. There's a lot more guitarists than bassists.

    No. The 'reverse' TRs are nearly always on basses 91 or earlier (not encountered a 92 that is reverse) and it is defo NOT all Warwicks of this early period... just some!

    My '90 & '91 Thumb basses are anti clockwise to tighten the (removable) rod, but I have reversed the rod in one so as to force forward relief when tightened.
