  1. Past hour
  2. Like the other replies, in my last band, the guitarist would bring an idea or riff, quite often a full song, we'd jam it out, see what worked where and added what we could. If it sounded good, we would keep on developing until we were all happy, and a finished song would emerge. If someone didn't think the idea had legs, it'd get shelved or adapted/morphed into something else. If someone came up with an idea for a riff or lyric or something, again, it'd get worked on until it became a song or it was decided that it didn't have legs. It's a shame the singer started taking over, especially with the lyrics. But that's another story.
  3. USB to usb c, into the dodgy eBay adapter, into a lightning to usb c adapter then a lightning to usb c adapter if I then power the dodgy eBay adapter with a lightning charger, the iPad seems to recognise it but it’s doesn’t charge it. i suspect the cable set up is wrong so a link to what I need to buy would be massively appreciated 😊
  4. Great little cab, I love mine
  5. That's a great looking bass. I love my custom Overwater - probably the best bass I've ever owned. If I wasn't trying to slim down my bass collection, I'd be all over this. Good luck with sale.
  6. I’ve ordered an XS-1, despite my gut telling me to go for the 100. Features wise, the 100 is simply the better pedal, and the point above about the 1 + expression being pretty much the same real estate is valid. However, that last point is mitigated as I use a 4-way expression pedal splitter (so one expression for 4 pedals). Given that I expect to be using this predominantly in a single way, and am pretty used to live knob twiddling, I think I can get away with the 1. If I’m wrong, but it performs as I hope, then I’ll upgrade to the 100 in time.
  7. You shouldn't need a driver, you just have to connect to the iPad by USB and then core audio should see it. I don't know about cubasis but I assume it should see it if it is available. What sort of interface are you using?
  8. Have fun with this thread guys I'm out 🤭
  9. Whoever organises the list needs to put him on first, then put him plus parents on last.
  10. Yes, all good.
  11. Playing a bass that really gels isn't the same as needing it in my opinion.
  12. I'd even go one step further and say (if we omit badge sobbery) how much better is a 2nd hand US Fender than some Squiers at sub £500?
  13. I used to have the passive version of this. Great bass. My son used to play in a band (Lionsex) who’s singer went under the moniker of ‘Jeff Leppard’!
  14. For a 1025x it seems a fair price to me. I bought a 425x (also in White) a couple of months ago, not a mark on it. I paid just under £400. I've seen a couple of black 1025x's up for sale recently at £550 and £600. I know these are probably a bit old school but I love my 425x 😍, just couldn't stretch to the price of a 1025x at the time (both were collection only and hours a way from where I live). Good luck with the sale 👍
  15. Let him do three but tell him everyone else needs a turn before he can go again.
  16. I’ve owned and played all the flavours. Owned a couple of interesting but unsatisfactory Ps (bitsa warmoth and a De Gier Soulmate) which never took. Currently playing one MIJ 70s style P and I have to say it’s GREAT. soooo, right now I would say YES
  17. No-one has ever told me to play a precision. I wanted one for decades, as I learned the basics on one. I finally got a precision and the penny dropped that my fretless that I've had since the late 80s is one.
  18. But could be removed and replaced if you're handy with a soldering iron. Especially as it is likely to be "through hole" mounted.
  19. XS-100: 30 presets - of which I'll likely need no more than 5 or 6, but be very handy for quick changes to keep songflow going mid-set. The ability to combine with an expression pedal to e.g. glide in octave up is a very nice to have. Midi could be useful XS-1: You get to choose 3 presets OR expression pedal from what I understand. But XS-1 plus expression pedal ain't too far off the pedal board acreage of the XS-100 (although I may just wait a while and see if one comes up used once the first movers have decided they don't need theirs!) Presets do make all the difference for me where you have more than one setting on a pedal you want to use live - the exact same reason for switching from the SY-1 -> SY-200, although the SY-200 does have 50 more built-in sound options than its smaller sibling. I was originally thinking this would be just a (finally!) decent detuning pedal, but already finding I'm wanting to use it in different ways to what I had originally intended.
  20. like the sound of this. Would gave liked a demo of some if the subtler sounds just after break up.
  21. I actually prefer a direct sale, but it always depends. Maybe you can send me your ideas via pm.
  22. Our regular open mike has a particular "problem" that is really putting us off going. Basically there is a young lad who plays a piano, sings and composes. He is mostly ok (composing not so good), but not as good as he or his parents think he is. The problem is that people are generally limited to three songs each and stick to that, but by playing with his parents (which is essentially him with some backing), then on his own, and then joining in with some others people have to endure at least 6 songs of his playing, which is just too much.It is noticable that when he is on a lot of audience take a fag/ fresh air break. Three songs would be fine, but this "Playing the system" makes it too much.
  23. I found the Rumble 15 awful. Couldn’t flip it fast enough.
