If they were out of phase, you would hear a very noticeable drop in output and a thin, nasal tone. From what you've written here, I think you're in phase. If you're feeling adventurous, swap the hot and ground wires of one of the pickups and see what difference it makes. Or just leave it, because what you describe sounds fine to me.

I hear a slight drop in volume and a slight compression in the mids, but it's the same thing I hear on a jazz bass

Sorry, I should have stated that those are the pictures supplied by the venue and that is the lead that the venue have been providing to their other acts. I'll see if I can find out a bit more.

Can anyone confirm the dimensions please? The website says 122mm wide but I assume that's actually the 'length' from the top of the screen to down where the footswitches are?

Well, I'm going to be a meanie and call shenanigans on this one. Was it necessary to make the MultiFX work? Presumably the MultiFX worked fine before, it was just a bit fiddlier to select stuff? You could argue that it's not specifically bass gear, but it's being used to control bass gear and you could argue that a Line6 M5 is not specifically bass gear and then where would we be? It's a T2 fail at the very minimum, and that's if I'm being charitable. It's creeping into T1 territory because of the use case. I would also argue that something which manipulates the signal chain IS in the signal chain. It's not a strap, is it? Seems like an indulgence to me, but maybe I haven't had it explained sufficiently for my pea brain to figure it out. Happy to hear any rebuttal of the above.

Good news although sometimes you find damp has got into components and is slowly corroding yet still appearing to work. It’s the same reason cars that get flood water damage even minor are now written off by insurers as they discovered over time failures of components. Not so sure I would have total faith in the amp if it had been wet but you may be lucky, hope so 👍

My first thought when I saw the clip was that , if true, he's certainly not the first musician who's been unable to reproduce a song or parts of a song exactly like the recording live. Although in the examples in the Sapko clip it's not clear if the recording vs live examples are even supposed to be the same piece, so it doesn't really prove anything.

Just looked at the link. Looks good. It reverses the newspaper model of print and distribute to distribute and print. So distribute the files locally and then print. I tried to set a colour printing business to do this about 30 years ago and we failed to raise the business. I understand what he's trying to do and he's addressed most of the concerns that were raised to us, things like NDA'S. Would be very interested in seeing the pricing model they use. Perhaps I might put my rates up from free 😁

This is an interesting one. I’ve worked with several producers of big bands who’ve told me stories of musicians whose tracks are all composites of takes because they literally can’t play it all the way through. In the 60s they’d smuggle studio musicians in to redo parts etc. Stitching together takes isn’t the same as plagiarism. Danny is making cash and we’re all contributing to it, so he’s currently winning.

RE Ichika Nito, someone has tried an obsessive take down (one wonders about neurodiversity!) of him which I think Danny Sapko must have seen. I've linked the below to 34 minutes in which I think summarises what has happened in this case - Ichika has produced super virtuoso videos that are beyond his own ability to perform which I suppose is cheating, although not the "ultimate" fake guitarist. Mind you the most popular comment in the chat underneath is Jared Dines complaining no one has accused him of being a fake guitarist yet!

Hi guys, a friend of mine has recently started an app with the goal of localising 3d printing giving people with printing needs, a cheaper way of getting stuff printed. But, also a way of allowing people with 3d printers to monetise from their set ups. I’ll caveat that with saying I know nothing about printing but have used Toby for various jobs over the years. I also worked with him for about 7 years and have known him for over a decade. He’s a genuinely decent and clever bloke. I'm getting nothing out of sharing this I just think it’s a really good idea. And, as you’re all printers, you might be able to monetise your services a bit from it. Anyway, the link is here if anyone thinks it might be of interest to them … https://3dprintlink.net

It's just psychology - everyone is interested in a scandal - more clicks, more likes = more money! Thing is social media starts to take it too far and thus anyone making a living on it needs to play the game. Has anyone noticed that facebook is now full of posts with something that is obviously wrong - especially driving videos - simply to lure people into saying "they didn't do anything wrong" or similar? A really irritating genre. Still these sorts of forums are probably one of the oldest form of online interaction (after list servers) and still seem to be maintaining their value.

I've just seen a new Sapko clip about guitarist Ichika Nito who I'm only vaguely aware of because he has a very nice Ibanez sig. This time the accusations are over editing his social media clips and not being able to replicate his performances live. All seems a bit more tenuous than the Giacomo plagiarism stuff to me but 'calling people out' seems to be a popular genre on social media these days.

How else would a covers band play Sweet Child Of Mine, Jean Genie, Video Killed The Radio Stars!!?? Seriously I've been through rehearsals without touching the G string and even the odd gig but there's an awful lot of times you need an octave in an arpeggio.

OK for using an LLM to give you the advert text, but surely you'd proofread it first wouldn't you?

Question for the Basschat hive mind. No reason other than I’m puzzled. But I’ve seen a few videos of pro players with neck off basses. My question is, if you take the string tension off the top, what stops the sound post from falling during transport?
