  1. Past hour
  2. Some songs are inexplicable. I hate playing All Along the Watchtower (as I can't touch Hendrix's random bassline and I feel ours is just a pale imitation) and Simple Man (which repeats three chords forever) - but audiences love them both.
  3. I thought I was ready to take part in this thread but my wife announced today I have permission to buy another Wilcock bass 😂
  4. Well, since I’ve got a Sandberg on order, expected around Easter time, I guess that’s me out before it started!
  5. @Clarky, I’d be really interested to hear how the Fifteen fares against the Flex.
  6. If I can make more from playing than spending in gear this year, that'd be a massive win.
  7. I'm in for tier 1, can't imagine how long I'm likely to last, but let's see 😜
  8. Go on then, count me in. Although I bought nothing in 2025, not even strings or a plectrum, so I'm probably going to do some buying this year.
  9. Well, as long it's in 2027...
  10. Keep them for another 20 years and then sell them to add to your retirement fund? Mark
  11. What happens when they inevitably spend their winnings on bass gear? 😂
  12. Surfing With The Alien - Joe Satriani
  13. The Joyo BA-30 might be a better bet for desk use?
  14. Today
  15. I have the BG-75 (the older one with DC input), they're for home practice and playing along with acoustic guitars really so may be perfect for your acoustic circle, especially given the BG-80 can be powered by a decent power bank. They sound great in this application and although I own some very nice small rigs the PJB is my favourite, they get a full sound due to the passive radiator design (that's the "something clever" bit you wondered about!) so need to be placed in front of a solid object, they don't sound half as good in the middle of a room and the low end drops out. You're going to be disappointed if you expect anything more from them tbh, very useful little things and they do sound brilliant if your requirements match their capability. They can also be a gateway drug into further PJB purchases so you have been warned.
  16. This is definitely my year.
  17. Sorry, missed by a few days this year.
  18. We should charge £5 to enter, with those still standing next December, sharing the pot.
  19. Tonerider, Classic or the hotter Duke. Hard to beat at £35 and available with flat or stagered poles... Kent Armstrong Hot Vintage £58.
  20. I'm in, although doubt for long... (but am pleased to be responsible for the rule change RE loyalty points!)
  21. Hogmanay shenanigans imminent. Going sideways again. Same rig as Saturday.
  22. Yes, I believe Mark was given a bicycle from Santa.
  23. Horrible dirty basses. The others are cowering under the bed, hiding in the wardrobe.
