  1. Past hour
  2. Hi, thank you. The unusually situated jack is just where I changed the original three knob, four band equaliser to a two band bass/treble unit and stuck a jack socket there to fill the leftover hole. The four band equalisers I built had board mounted pots to save on wiring and reduce induced noise.
  3. It really is excellent, and very simple to dial in.
  4. As you've already demonstrated that your taste is rather different to the average Planet Rock listener, I'm sure that there will be at least three RHCP songs in the 500.
  5. That was the one. It was Volume, Pan, Bass, and Treble
  6. Ditto and ditto. Food-wise maybe we could do a bring-&-share? Richard mentioned sandwiches and Geek mentioned a giant Costco cake, and I know Costco also do trays of wraps and things, and I'd be quite happy to make some stuff to bring. Obviously I couldn't hope to make anything as utterly brilliant as The Crumble
  7. I owned this bass for a while and the build quality is exceptional. Glwts
  8. Zoom ms70cdr is quite well regarded in the synth world it seems. if you want flexibility would something like hx effects with lots of footswitches (or LT aren’t silly money any more secondhand)
  9. In a more serious vein, a second cab allows me to keep one connected in my "office" and one I can take out easily to jam with. I hate undoing all the connections and redoing them each time.
  10. Welcome and very nice bass. Why the two jack inputs?
  11. As many others have already said, look for a GenzBenx Neox212 or NX212. A Barefaced beater and fantastic sounding. Can't go wrong.
  12. Great little chorus pedal. Glwts
  13. Bought used earlier this year and not used a whole lot. It's a fun and surprisingly versatile instrument, just not something I'm going to get a lot of use out of. The bass has been modified with a thumbrest so you have better access to the "sweet spot" rather than playing over the neck or by the bridge. It's currently strung with the extremely nice Hofner-specific white nylon tapewounds from LaBella which will be included. Looking for £190 and open to trades for whatever. Delivery possible at buyer's expense and risk, collection preferred.

  14. Not any more! The postage from the USA for the new badge was brutal, but this rig is all about the look of it, so it had to be done! In other news, our emigration plans have moved up a gear. I don't have time to fix the foot switch and I'll not really need it - so it's available here for postage:
  15. Thats not ideal, my U4 took 13 months to break (ie, just outside waranty)!
  16. This foot controller came with my Trace Elliot amp. It's faulty - it's suspected that the switches need a clean and some use, as it's been stored for 10 years. No charge, just cover the postage - or collect from Chepstow.

  17. That's a very tidy haul, Muzz - congrats! (And hopefully you're not about to tell me that bookings were down 40% and it was actually a really crap year for you guys!) Are you guys doing a mixture of pub and function work or predominantly doing one or the other?
  18. I still have my mini rig which is kicking out about 150w but I'm going to upgrade the speakers in the TC Electronics 208 so it become 4 ohms and can handle about 400w. Its a well known upgrade, will only cost £100 and that way I can use all 280w of the Warwick Gnome iPro
  19. Not denying I'm excited about your new project John (not least for the Beat Buddy content, which is on my own project list to get up to speed on this year). Will be following with interest!
  20. Their only good stuff is their early stuff which is far too interesting to get in the list and everything post BSSM is just terrible.
  21. Well New Year New Project!! In the process of setting up a new cafe/pub trio (female vox/guitar: lead guitar: Bass & Beat Buddy drums) and currently looking at a suitable PA system. Thanks to @Phil Starr for highlighting the Flow 8 which could just be a great starting point. Found this Video which appears to be good introduction. https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=behringer+flow+8+8-channel+digital+mixer+review&mid=70A45B7FD58E9939DAAE70A45B7FD58E9939DAAE&FORM=VIRE
  22. It sounds very good. Lots of midrange tone and very loud. I suspect I need to spend some time with it to work out the sound I like the best. Rob
  23. Today
  24. First thing that comes to mind is the Helix Stomp. I know there are many other options out these but ive used the Stomp for both bass and keys (not at the same time or even in the same band), and it worked well. Especially good when using the midi function to change Stomp patches with keyboard patches. If you set up a chain of blocks covering the different effects and have them turned off, you can just enable them rather than needing to scroll through anything. This is how the cheaper multi FX like the Valeton's work.
  25. My guess as to the top 10 is Stairway to Heaven Bohemian Rhapsody Freebird Hotel California All Right Now Highway to Hell Comfortably Numb Paranoid Sweet Child of Mine Smoke on the Water No idea to be honest... If there is anything from 2000 onwards, I'd be surprised. I make no claims on the merits of the songs. Rob
  26. Now I’m back in gainful (and frankly very nice) employment I’d consider it obviously I’d have to check with management first
  27. If there is enough interest and willingness to commit to paying the full price of the Cheddon hall hire maybe we could group together to run the event to take the strain of Mike and his team? It is a great venue which would be hard to beat on price and facilities?
