  2. I doubt it was down to the film... the different plastics of the ply shrinking or gassing at different rates - some early celluloid plates resemble thise 'Shrinky Dinkies' of the 80's
  3. Following in case you decide to split these up - Would be interested in the Blower Box, but don't need the rest of them!
  4. Blimey, had a rehearsal this morning, lots of swing jazz, probably used every note on every string up to 10th fret or so. Plenty of notes available even on a four string, a shame not to use them.
  5. Now just £310.00. This amazing emulation of the acoustic control corporation 360 preamplifier with variamp and built in fuzz is up for grabs. Hand made by the renowned JC Maillet and commissioned and imported by myself at great cost. I have used the 360+ for studio recordings, gigs, rehearsals and at home, it has never dissapointed. The preamp sounds fantastic and the fuzz section is the best I have used. I have owned this pedal for a good few years from new, as can be seen it's in pristine condition. Specially sourced UK power supply also included. Will happily run from other sources with the right leads (I used it with a trex chameleon). Fully detailed printed instruction manual also included. Only available as I have more preamplifiers than I can use. Try out/collection always welcome, or UK insured postage for £15.00

  6. I’ve tried both, Ampeg for me. It wins on tone, range of features, price and separate pedal switch to engage the drive
  7. There is always something to learn about these instruments.
  8. Today
  9. Excellent photos... Really shows the pristine condition of that bass well. Someone is gonna get a beautiful instrument there...
  10. Looking good😎
  11. Hi peeps F/S are a set of neck and bridge pickups for Rickenbacker style basses. These are the single coil with static impedance of 8.2k Ohms (neck) and 8.4k Ohms (bridge). Bought in anticipation of a project that never happened. As you can see they are unopened but I have added in the pics from the Retrovibe website for clarity and a link to the relevant pages. These are just shy of £120 inc. P&P from Retrovibe, so offered at a very reasonable £90 inc. P&P to UK mainland by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Neck: https://retrovibe.co.uk/product/retrovibe-rick-style-neck-pickup/ Bridge: https://retrovibe.co.uk/product/retrovibe-rick-style-treble-pickup-and-chrome-surround/ And some pics:
  12. Well worth subscribing to Gerry of Haze Guitars informative email newsletter https://hazeguitars.com/subscribe
  13. Like new and less than a year from purchased from Anderson’s. perfect condition and complete in box. mega pedal. A fantastic synth style dirty fuzz. smooth. £150
  14. I managed to get cracking and get the P bass playing the way I like. As I suspected the plastic film that was still on the scratch plate had welded itself to the tort plate. On closer inspection the plate was warped whilst it was screwed onto the bass, I don`t know what was going on there, was it because the original film was still on the plate after 15 odd years? Anyway I ordered a black 3 ply one from Northwest Guitars for £22 with next day delivery and it fitted perfectly with all the screw holes lining up. Next a new set of EB`s Slinkys, I oiled the fretboard and it was good to go. Intonation was perfect so maybe it was set up when it was bought? The bass plays and sounds great and the neck profile is perfect for me. Overall I`m very happy with this purchase @DGBass I have taken a pic of the tuners for you.
  15. wildly inaccurate (relative to Jazz) would be my analysis and experience
  16. There was a powered Bergantino cab in the Amps For Sale a little while ago, which looked like an excellent bit of kit. Discontinued now though. IIRC, GR Amps made a powered cab, again, discontinued. I was looking at the Barefaced site a short while ago, and they also provide a powered option on some cables, but not all. Again, IIRC, part of the Blackstar Unity range, they did a 250w 1x15 powered cab, not sure if that's still available.
  17. Amazing fuzz and distortion pedal. Renowned and just all round brilliant and possibly a reluctant sale but trying to downsize. Probably the best overall fuzz pedal I’ve owned. Has a volume knob!!!! Most pedals Don’t have that! It is a godsend and means you can turn it up and down when on and balance with the pedal off volume. Has a blend knob with your clean tone also which is nice. Best thing about this pedal…. So easy to tame and control. No Nasty sounds or welling up when engaged yet not playing a note. Flip between fuzz or distortion. I always used fuzz. small pedal for a small footprint. all complete in box £100

  18. That's a crazy percentage, just 1.6%!!! It’s always been a fairly male heavy genre but I’m shocked at how low that number is. I can think of loads of tracks that would beat half the dross on that list.
  19. I believe the 210LNT in the photo is one of the very last the lovely Marc Vanderkley made...😢 Very sad to see the company go.
  20. This is pretty good https://hazeguitars.com/sketchysetups#buysetupguide The Bass one is just $6
  21. Hi everyone. Price dropped to £1850 having looked at historical prices. Here’s my Spector Euro4 LT Rudy Sarzo in gloriously glossy scarlet red. I need to raise some car funds so you’ll see other lovely basses up for grabs in the next week or so. Serial Number NB18023 , so made Late 2021 to early 2022 in Czech Republic. I bought this from a Basschatter , though on Ebay , in March 2023. As usual, it’s had limited home use only due to my other basses pleading with me to play them. The previous owner didn’t leave any signs of wear at all so it really is in Mint Condition. Not even any minor swirls on the body, no fret wear and the ebony board is dark and pristine. Gorgeous mother of pearl inlays and the gold hardware contrasts so well with the body and glossy headstock. Measured with my digital calliper's it’s 41mm across Nut. ( Spec says 42 ) 43mm at first fret. 53.5mm at 12th and string spacing 18mm at saddles. 3.6kg 7lbs 14oz. Balances beautifully with a strap so feels even lighter. The lower rear corner of the bridge has some tiny tarnish spots , I can’t capture them on camera , they are so small. I polished the frets today, the board looks epic so I left that alone. Truss rod hasn’t been used by me but I tested it anyway and it adjusts smooth as silk. My usual 15-20 thou relief currently, fretting at first fret and near body. Nut slots are spot on for a business card under the strings at first fret when fretted at 3rd 👍. D’Addario nickel wounds 45 65 80 100. Not new but sound great to me. The Fishman Fluence humbucker pickups are superb and noiseless, powerful with great clarity. I’ve included screenshots of information below. If you watch reviews with RS on them you won’t learn much to be honest. Along with the Fishman 2 band pre amp , pickup blend and Volume controls the switch gives you 3 “Voicings” Classic, Fat and Round - Fishman say this is “Passive” “Active” - Full frequency range and full dynamics. “Active” - with Mids scooped. These are not passive pickups , the battery is engaged all the time so Fishman are using the words to describe the kind of tone really. If you pull the Volume knob you get a calmed down version of the 3 tones via the switch. “Coil Split “ they say, and it’s a good description. My Spector Euro 5LX has EMG Twin pickups and the single coil tones on that are just more subtle, in the same way as on my 4LT. There’s a lot of duff info out there but I’ve written the above description based on Fishman info only. I bought this bass because I was so curious, I haven’t been disappointed and I’m sure you won’t be either. It’s so versatile and responsive and with Spector characteristics too. I still have my Euro 5LX and a Pulse II 4 for Spector thrills ! My price includes UK mainland insured FedEx delivery so I’ll ask for an extra contribution if you are further away. The Spector , well padded, gigbag is included but I can use a good hard case instead if you’d prefer. Thanks for looking.
  22. My wife had some fabric remnants. Bit of black felt cut to size and held in place with a small amount of gaffer tape. Works a treat. Also keeps my aching thumb nice and warm. Mkii version will have a small bit of velcro to fasten. much better dampening, instant, and no harmonics or rattle.
  23. Bought from the Juan Alderete Reverb store when he had his big clearout. Had it shipped to the uk and professionally changed to UK voltage and the thru jack nut added (as it was missing/fallen off) Everything works perfectly and if you’re looking for a justification of why you should have a bigger heavier Khan DI, well these work as a passive DI 😇 you can also turn the tube on or off on the Thru. Since arriving, I’ve taken it to the studio, done a NAM capture and moved it from box to box in the house.
