If you have got the correct tools and are confident using them, then go for it. if not take it to a good tech. IF you are going to attempt a diy job, I would advise ordering two replacement nuts, then you’ll have a spare when you mess up the first one 😄

Graveyard Stomp - The Meteors

To be honest, that really isn't my experience! Modern Class D amps do not have the response or attack of hybrid amps or, from what I understand given my limited experience of them, valve amps. That's the reason I got rid of my Class D Mesa amp - sounded great in a room on it's own, but didn't have the response I needed live. This was particularly noticeable when you were playing onstage with a band with a lot of keys and stuff going on, less so in a blues / boogie band with two relatively clean guitars! The advantage with a para EQ is that if you are in a room with sound issues, you can find what frequencies are causing the problems and sweep the EQ centre for that band until the issue goes away. I used to find that with my Mesa mpulse that in certain rooms, it was often the low-mids that caused a problem. If you changed the frequency then you could usually get around the problem with the sound of the room pretty easily. The problem with para EQs is that you can get a truly awful sound if you don't understand how the various frequencies work together! I used to follow the manual's suggested settings (for 'Driving Rock', if I remember correctly) and then tweaked until I got the sound that I wanted. As ever, you don't necessarily need a flat EQ, but you probably don't want any massive boosts or cuts so that you can hear a coherent representation of every note that you are going to play.

@police squad I wasn't doing a hatchet job on Ric, just refuting Michael's idea that 2 grand guarantees a perfect bass. Aye Ric's QC is pretty haphazard but so is Fender's and Gibson's. This TB post from tail end of last year made me laugh. $2.5k US Fender. Passed FMIC's QC, passed Sweetwater's 55 point inspection. Got weighed and photographed for the website. Nobody noticed the missing tuning peg screw 🤣 Insult to injury came when the Talkbass owner bought a set of screws to put it right, pilot hole had been drilled both off-centre and squint 🤣

I really can't fault it especially at the price. I have bought a Tonerider Duke to put in it but not bothered as the stock pup is fine. A fellow basschatter played it and also said it didn't need the change.

Ok but its not now. Surely a rant should be based on the current state of things? Anyway, id get one if the Bass Driver Elite wasn't coming out. I too thought it was too expensive at the £600+ price, but G4M’s price seems more reasonable to me. To me things like the Anagram or Quad Cortex are much more over priced, especially with Valeton and Zoom stuff around and much, much less cost. And DarkGlass stuff has always been expensive for what it is I like tech, but its easy to get bogged down in apps and what you can and cant do, so of rme it doesn't matter if there is an app or not.

I don't know where you are, but if you wanted to get a quote for potential repairs, these are licensed to carry out TC repairs, I believe: https://www.electronicmusicservices.co.uk/ -
Just found a deadspot on my Dingwall. I am annoyed.

Well, I’ll give it a go. Nothing to lose and while I don’t expect to be return it, I’ve had really good customer service so far and I’d be surprised if they didn’t at least offer some advice. I mean, they know people like me are often repeat customers so it would make sense to give ongoing support. I’ve met Sheldon and I think he’s a good egg. -

Virtually new Fender Bassman 100 cover from Roqsolid, i got it to use while my flightcase was being manufactured so was only used briefly. Its a little dusty but will wipe. They're about £65 new + shipping Cover is in Hope Valley, happy to post within UK, probably gonna cost a tenner just for how small it doesn't fold up.

For sale, my Octave Mandola OR Octave Mandolin (they are the same thing). Shorter scale than an Irish Bouzouki, this one is tuned GDAE in unison pairs (or courses). Condition is excellent, not quite mint and includes a nice TGI gig bag that is a perfect fit. Mandola is in Hope Valley (S33 6SB) for local collection or I could deliver locally too. Could attempt uk posting but it isn't as solid as a bass so I'd be a bit wary of that.

Great sounding preamp/di, I'm having a clear out of things I don't use enough to warrant keeping and I already have a clean preamp/di that does the job for me as well as a couple of colourful sounding pre/di pedals so I really don't need this sat around as it may as well be with someone who'll be using it. It does that lovely Eden clean crisp sound, punchy and lovely. Comes with a power supply (don't think it's the original one) but I used with my voodoo lab power supply as that does 15v. Condition is very very good. Pedal is in Hope Valley (S33 6SB) if you're passing for collection or I can deliver locally, happy to post within UK.

Another cool pedal I've had sat around a while, sounds great, I just don't use dirt in my current setup so while it sounds really good it's just sat in a cupboard and might as well be getting used by someone. Condition is excellent / looks new to me. Here's someone doing a demo of one: Pedal is in Hope Valley (S33 6SB) if you're passing for collection or I can do local delivery, also happy to do UK poastage.

The MXR Bass Auto Q is an auto-wah / envelope filter based on the sound of the Cry Baby pedal, this one designed specifically for bass guitar. The Bass Auto Q features adjustable sensitivity and blendable LFO signal. Condition is decent, the case has some chipped paint (around the base plate), just dusty otherwise. Everything works as it should. All it's original knobs present and correct. Seen these listed on ebay for a fair bit more than this and in roughly this condition. this is the broken battery clip, for some reason the battery hatch doesn't stay shut by itself either hence the velcro fix by a previous owner from these parts, does the job Pedal is in Hope Valley (S33 6SB) if you're passing for local collection or I can do local delivery, also happy to do UK postage.

normally the other half hears random bass video or music sounds coming out of the laptop and rolls her eyes... but she liked that last one

No, in the last 2 months. Up until the new year it was £620.

It came down in price between when you posted and when i googled it? 😂

First gig of the year, with the Zep tribute in Cottingham on the east coast. A bit rusty with a dep guitar player as our BL / guitarist is still out with serious back issues, but all-in-all a pretty solid performance. A decent crowd with 160 tickets sold and a great reaction. I didn't bother taking any pictures as it is pretty much the same rig as the last 60 / 70 gigs. I did note that the (very good) sound engineer (actually a husband and wife team) DI'd from the Caveman preamp / DI on my board rather than from the amp. Some do, some don't, but seemed to sound good out front either way. Next gig in Scotland with the same dep guitarist in a few weeks...

Obviously it's come down recently. However, you can buy a Stomp for that which will do that and loads more. There is no pedal on earth that's worth that much when you can't control the settings remotely, nor does it have a stereo input which is an instant fail for its market. Yes, I've played one.
