Still a bit on fence with flats after a couple of months. I’m aware that you’re supposed to give them time, but does the sticky / grabby feeling ever go away? I’ve used Fast Fret a couple of times, it doesn’t seem to make that much difference. Perhaps Fender 9050L flats aren’t as glassy smooth to the touch as others. They feel ok when moving about quicker, but if I hold & sustain a note for a few seconds, the finger really gets stuck on the string. Is this just something you have to put up with when playing flats, or is it more that others are just smoother so it’s not an issue? I believe Chromes have a similar slightly grabby feel, but I pretty much ruled them out earlier anyway. Wondering about trying Ernie Ball stainless steel Group or TI Jazz. Are these smoother & less grabby? I’m sure La Bellas are nice and smooth but also ruled out as not the tone I’m after. Thanks

Just like the real thing then. I bought one once. Took it back a week later. Couldn't get a sound I liked out of it.

Wow, that G string is very close to the edge of the fingerboard!

Me too! I also like the Arc Dreamer block. The Boss OD one is too harsh for me even at low gain setting

PSA - cheap 5.8GHz wireless on AliExpress
Huge Hands replied to tauzero's topic in Accessories and Misc
I received mine last week - have only tested them so far but all seems good. Forgot to take them to rehearsal last night - hopefully will remember next Monday! -
I do agree Tom, but without the original packaging, I'd be concerned about sending this out into courier world. I also much prefer potential buyers to confirm they are happy with the item in person before they purchase. However, if a buyer would be prepared to arrange collection by their preferred courier I could source appropriate packaging.

Selling a G&L L2000 Tribute bought here last year. I'm starting to list most of my bass gear due to inactivity, and this one has barely been touched during my ownership. Bass is in great condition, and really comfortable to play. Collection from Harrogate, but meet-up in the general area can be arranged. Any questions, please ask.

Recently serviced and well looked after Nekotronics SL4000 MK2 Bus Compressor used in a commercial recording studio only in a ventilated panel arrangement. All the mods are included with this one, including Carnhill Transformers that can be engaged or disengaged (sound amazing on the 2bus!) and the infamous ‘Turbo’ mode which increases stereo width. Black knobs and LEDs chosen for this one which is a rare combo and looks great vs the standard/ssl type versions in my opinion! Insured postage included in the price, solid packaging and box all ready to go. These retail for £1350 now with a long wait time, so grab this quick before I change my mind!

When you are really close you won't hear it. But back off to mid audience sort of distance and walk across the room and you'll hear the difference.

I recently upgraded to a proper Höfner hard case, so this very well-made and protective gigbag is now surplus to requirements. As you’ll see from the pix, it’s in mint condition (it’s been out of the house probably fewer than a dozen times) and is really well padded, perfect for any of the Höfner violin basses – the proper 500/1, the 500/1 HCT or the Chinese-made Ignition – or indeed for the 500/2 Club basses. The current Artist Line bags have a slightly different design, as they don’t offer the handy net pocket on top of the main storage pocket, which itself is big enough for a laptop, iPad or A4 sheet music, plus cables, tuner, etc. Thomann retail the current model at £48, so this is a bargain at £30, plus postage – I have a perfect box – or you can collect from Mapperley in Nottingham (tea and biscuits always available!).
