Well, I have seen videos of both Taylor swift and Biffy Clyro live now and I am not sure I can see where you are coming from!

Raye: "It's great to see so many genders out there!" What, you mean both of them? Yes it's amazing isn't it. Thank goodness she isn't stupid.

Joanne Shaw Taylor in October. Cool retro 300 seat theater. 5 minute drive. Daryl

I was idly watching on I Player & it occured to me that I wasn't seeing much in the way of Palestine flags (if any), then I noticed what looked like some clever trickery where a sort of 'rural' image was appearing on some flags, I'm sure it was an 'instant imposition' thing .......................... ๐

Raye is bossing it. Band are excellent.

I love how Gary Numan was a huge influence on Nine Inch Nails and helped Trent Reznor get started and now Numan is sounding more like Nine Inch Nails. For his live performances, he plays a lot of modern stuff and has modernised the old stuff with more of that industrial sound and more guitar.
-
Yeah, i was a big fan. Went to the first few tours back in the lat 70โs, early 80โs. Always had a soft spot for his music but it seemed to get a bit too off track for me. Going to see him in Nov on the Telekon tour, but mainly as a nostalgia trip. Love the old. Old stuff, not a fan of the more modern Numan. and WTF was the guitarist playing in the solo on Down in the park ๐
-
Seconded.
-
Because interesting bands don't get big. Bland sells, that's why Coldplay and Taylor Swift are huge and Biffy Clyro and Osees aren't

Aye, I was more trying to โlighten the moodโ a bit. I loved the LP painted with the blue check to match his shirt! Doing amazingly for 80!

They did a gig for Radio 1 a couple of months ago which I watched on iplayer. Top rate live band with some huge songs I'm a bit puzzled as why they're not much bigger.
-
My dad was a massive Gary Numan fan back in the day. He's text me to say "are you watching Glastonbury Festival H? Gary Numan one of my favourites he don't half look strange now"

May I suggest the use of the 'Report' feature, to be found in the 'three little dots', top right of every post, when there is anything found to be distasteful..? It brings the Reported post to the attention of the Mods and Admin, where rapid and effective action is taken, depending on the merits of the Report. Much better than simply abandoning, and it helps keep the entire site on track. Just a suggestion; peace.

TS or TRS? It would have to be trs to be balanced. I always used a trs>xlr adaptor cable when I was the soundman, because I trust me. Whenever I had someone else on the desk I always used a separate di but that was more about isolation and phantom power protection than sound. The stomp sounded great.

Just catching up with the Gary Numan set. Worst bass tone ive ever heard, but largest kick drum ive ever seen ๐ Not a huge fan of the grungy Numan band, but enjoyed the set after the first two songs were out of the way.
-
Back on subject. I'm just watching Biffy Clyro, havent listened to them in years. Really excellent performance. Definitely a few odd time signatures in there, almost prog rock at times.
-
In fairness, he's doing a lot better than some of the dinosaurs still trying to play these sorts of shows over the past few years. That GnR set from a couple of years ago still makes me cringe just thinking about it - such was the "quality" of Axl Rose's "singing".

I've been putting an optogate on every backing vocal mic for a few years now and it's amazing for cutting this kind of stuff out.
