  1. Past hour
  2. I've played a couple of Overwaters and they are amazing instruments. Sadly too heavy for my back, ho hum!
  3. If I say to the wife, "I like the look of that xxxxx", her reply has always been, "If it's that good, get it". Back in the 80's we were having a look around Peter Cook's shop, and I expressed an interest in a Fender Precision Special that was hanging on the wall. She bought it there and then!! She has about half a dozen dolls houses around the house, 3 or 4 quilts on the go and a garden full of flowers, oh, and I nearly forgot the shoes! We support each other's interests.
  4. That's a bit like my situation, except that anything I buy and don't like I leave gathering dust in a corner or give away because no one else appears to like it enough to offer me money for it. Similarly, though I am trying to resist as there's nothing I actually need right now...
  5. MXR M85 bass distortion. Great distortion pedal in good condition. Velcro on the bottom. £90 delivered. Any questions just ask 👍
  6. Mine is coming tomorrow via Andertons
  7. I had the cricket bat Hohner B2A with EMG pups. It was ace!! When I finally get my 80s band started... Later this summer I hope, I will probably want another. Though mine was active I loved the sound in passive.
  8. I occasionally have to do a score out of 10 for each one , then sometimes score it out of 100 to make it more detailed if 3 don't become obvious. anyway I digress ... certificates to follow after my tea , but in the meantime fill your boots
  9. I too am a big fan of the boss, set everything at noon and that sounds good. However, I do admit that I don’t know what I’m doing sometimes with compressors, so I need advice on settings would be great.
  10. IS this still available? I am moving to Europe in the fall and would love to purchase it if it is still available. Leaving my full size bass here.
  11. Got one arriving tomorrow from dunlop uk! I will be out watching Alanis morrisette in the evening so will have to wait until Thursday to use it!
  12. Who'd have thunk it , I got to share the top step this month with @upside downer and @Baloney Balderdash congratulations. As it was a first time for Mr Balderdash , he has had the choice of image for us to work on and compose to, thus... "Here is my suggestion to the image for July. A mystic contortionist, admittedly AI generated (but on my intricate description):" ✅ Entries must be <5 minutes and recorded between now and the deadline. ❌ No illegal samples, copyright infringements or other snide goings-on ❌ No Bagpipes, Please, I think they would get tangled. ❌ No voting for your own entry. We'll know. And we'll shame you.. Deadline-wise, we will go for Midnight on the 25th July ... Which in reality, means an early one on the 26th , unless I'm working on a weekend! A line or two of blurb as usual for the vote thread will be super duper smashing lovely. Good luck, Have fun
  13. Reordering is fairly straightforward (drag and drop). Can totally see the appeal of the hands-on MXR; will definitely be checking that out. I might have a lot more free time very soon so could potentially talk you through the FI stuff.
  14. One strategic purchase per annum Keep schtum on numbers Say you got a good deal My three golden rules.
  15. Some rehearsals are more chilled than others...
  16. Wilson's a dude. Deal with confidence and I've heard this beast a few times. Wicked amp. ✌️
  17. To comment on the reddit feed... Not all sound engineers are music sound engineers. Or another way, there are multi disciplines of sound engineering. I couldn't engineer a tv studio sound with multiple lapel mics, but I can mix and record a band. It's not easy to swap. Yes, they should use engineers who can mix music, but just because it's the BBC doesn't mean they have enough avaliable. Mrs B is fed up with me complaining about the sound on tv from Glastonbury. A tale from a long time ago. Back in the early 80s, I did the sound for a Bristol band that got a slot on Pebble Mill at One. I sat in the control room while it was being recorded and the chief engineer said "ooh I like this" and mixed the whole thing on the studio Tanoys. Not even checking on a small tv speaker. Which i found odd at the time. When we came to listen back in the Green room on the tv, the sound was terrible. Really tinny and weak. I know i can't tar every BBC engineer with the same brush (I've sat in on Radio 1 recordings at Maida Vale studios, which were fine), but I've never completely trusted tv engineers to mix bands.
  18. Labella Olinto are purple with a white stripe
  19. Hi, Labella only do 2 strings with purple silks, the low tension flats are like this
  20. Sorry , my bad . The Burns has LaBella LTFs , the 760FX are on the Yamaha . They have snot green silks .
  21. The reason I got my first BDDi was to warm up my MB LM3 years ago. took me a while to get used to it but ive pretty much used a BDDI ever since, and I play a lot of varied music. I can see how the Laney would work well with MB, and I may one day try another, but im hoping to go amp less asap, and the BDDI gives me a bit more character.
  22. Labella 760FX . Got em on My Burns Bison and just had a look .
  23. Why's the Grim reaper scared of his wife?
  24. Easy deal with Jimmy who bought my Mustang bass. And clearly a man of taste as he kept the white pick guard 😁
  25. Can anyone help please ? Recently acquired a bass with flats on, the silks are purple/mauve. I’m pretty sure they’re La Bella but which ones I know not !! Theyre great to play, not too much tension with a nice thump. I would like to buy some more but unsure what they are… Any help would be much appreciated Cheers.
