  1. Past hour
  2. If it is the same one, there's not much of a profit there. £11.32, to be exact. Cost including 26.4% hammer fee, £783.68. It may be an optical illusion, but it looks as if the switch is orientated at 90 degrees to the one on Gumtree.
  3. Quite different machines perhaps? I have a Passion from 198 something and its wonderful, having said that the John Birch, for all its flaws sounds like Concord taking off (in a good way).
  4. The First Cut is the Deepest - PP Arnold / Rod Stewart
  5. This is probably a bit controversial, but I've always felt that a fretless Thunderbird is a bit like a five string Rickenbacker. Deeply unnatural.....
  6. I've got a spare set of panels and a speaker. I was going to build and document the build sometime soon so I'll have a pair of these. I'm also happy to design a 2x8 for anybody who wants a go at building one. (this is where I'm tryiong to remember if I've already done this design for anyone)
  7. Slight correction, it's 3.5kg/7.8lb.
  8. Reissue priced at £40.99, yours (new, sealed) for £25 posted UK. Now £20 Now £15 OMD’s 1985 album Crush, will be reissued for its 40th anniversary in October. The band’s sixth album features the singles ‘So In Love,’ and ‘Secret’, with the former reaching the top 30 of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. The 2LP vinyl edition features seven unreleased tracks. Both formats include rare photos and comprehensive notes by journalist and author Jason Draper in conversation with Andy McCluskey. The 40th anniversary re-release of Crush has been a wonderful opportunity for us to re-assess the album. 1985 was a period of great intensity with constant touring and time pressure in the studio, but we created a powerful collection of songs and lyrical themes. In hindsight, we made a much better album than we knew at the time. Two hit singles ‘So in Love’ and ‘Secret’ remain live set constants to this day. ANDY MCCLUSKEY

  10. New and unplayed, Ruf Records latest prodigy’s new release. Features Kingfish Ingham and Shemekia Copeland. Powerful stuff from someone who’s touring here in the autumn and should not be missed. £20 from Amazon, £10 posted UK here. NOW £8
  11. As seen on the London stage with Clapton this week! Deluxe edition - Played once, as new. Do You Get The Blues dates from 2001 - this is its anniversary reissue on CD with sleeve notes from the bluesmeister himself. Cameos by Lou Ann Barton and Double Trouble. Now £8 posted UK
  12. Ha ha, I very nearly said just the same yesterday, one low-talent/high-ego member is manageable, but four of them.........
  13. I fancy having a go with a monitor style cab with the back corners at 45 degrees. I’d make the cab a bit wider and deeper to keep the same internal volume and match the form factor of a 10” cab I have
  14. T-Bone Blues — Louis Jordan & His Tympany Five
  15. High quality fuzz with some great sounds including Velcro tearing gated fuzz for some synthy action plus more traditional fuzz noises. In the original box with some feet and a sticker. Velcro’d on the bottom plus free of charge carpet fluff. I’m trying to free up cash for a BassRig 15 so not a massive interest in trades / part-ex unless there’s a Cioks DC7 or a GigRig QMX4 involved.
  16. Looks like my old one - I bought it for £650 in 2006. Best rock bass Ive played is one of those old Vigier Arpeges though. They've more in the tank than a Birchenbacker.
  17. I have a Harley Benton Guitarbass, their budget take on a Bass VI. 6 strings an octave down from guitar, 30" scale, no trem, 5-way pup selector. It has 3 x single coils that look like Strat pickups - I've also seen metal side-tabbed and square ended pickups advertised as Bass VI pups, that look like Jaguar guitar ones. This Guitarbass now has Wilkinson drilled post tuners and Fender 20-100 strings. I'm looking for clean 6 string bass sounds rather than low pitched metal guitar fizz. Is a pickup change worth doing, if so what would you suggest?
  18. Rock biography from Mick. No hassles, quick, as described and all spectacular.
  19. Electro Harmonix Bass Big Muff Pi pedal for sale. Pre-Velcroed! £40 posted.
  20. Having a show about great basslines, and what appears to be no mention of Paul McCartney as a talking head seems like a wasted opportunity. I’ll still watch though, if only to shake my head at the inevitable omissions. 😁
  21. Replied and sold pending.
  22. All the ones Andertons were selling were 9.7lbs-10lbs. Whether or not that means heavy to you is your call, but having owned 12lbs+ monsters in the past, I would class these as "middleweight".
  23. Hi these look really great. The demo on YouTube sounds good too. Dare I ask is it a heavy thing?
