I played through an old Trace Elliot GP7 combo at Glastonbury this year. I was so excited to see it on stage and it sounded absolutely incredible.

Just goes to show how much I know, I said to the wife, that's a Fender Jazz Marcus Miller bass, really nice bass but didn't really realise they were out in 1985. She said, it looked really new so maybe they'd just come out. Didn't realise it was actually Marcus Miller playing 😆

Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

I knew what this would be as soon as I saw the title - either an NS2000 or a Q4. Sellers never seem to know what these basses are!

So I was chuffed when I got tickets for ELO’s final gig…
TrevorR replied to TrevorR's topic in General Discussion
Jeff's health must come first but I really am absolutely gutted that tomorrow's concert has been cancelled. ELO have basically been my favourite band since Telephone Line came out. This was my last and only chance to see the man performing live. A mixture of personal circumstances, long term family illnesses and other things have always precluded us seeing ELO every other time they have toured since the comeback a decade ago. Doubly upsetting that it also means missing two more of my all time favourite artists, The Doobie Brothers and Steve Winwood - neither of whom I have ever seen before (for much the same reasons as ELO). At least I’ve managed to snag three decent enough tickets for the Doobies at their O2 gig next Saturday. Takes the sting off a bit… but only a bit. Get well soon Jeff and enjoy a well earned retirement. 😥 -

Live Aid on bbc2, about 2 hours timeshift. I watched it on my b&w tv and recorded the best bits off the radio on my ghetto blaster. -

275? Rearrange these words into a well-known phrase or saying: Off ... bite... hand. -

A friend of mine has an upright they mentioned to me they are selling. Haven't seen it in person yet but they just sent me these photos. It's 1967 I think and looks to be Hungarian made. I love how it's aged it looks so much prettier than my Thomann 22 3/4 ! It's been in storage (in a soft foam case) for 20/25 odd years so I'm sure it's going to need some set up and new strings at the very minimum. Im not sure exactly where in terms of temp/humidity. Though I'm wandering what kind of issues I should be on the look out for or common issues basses that have been in storage encounter that could be costly to repair. They are asking for 275 for it as this is what they originally paid in the 90s when they were a student. Would you go for it ? What should I keep an eye out for ? Is it too much risk of being a money pit ? Also am I right in thinking this is carved or is a hybrid ? Thanks to all for your knowledge in advance !

I completely missed Trace Elliot. Never owned or played one. So I don't get the "love". I was using Music Man and Dynacord gear at the time.

I still have a sticker from when owning a Trace Elliot was a dream, not a nightmare 😁

When @fretmeister unleashes his new god-like bass tones, the congregation will bow down ready to give up their souls. In anticipation, waiting for the bass to drop, the words echo across the room.... "Let us PRay!" And it was good.

Bump with a slight price drop to £1550. Got a lot on at the moment, otherwise I'd have had time to pop this into the Bass Gallery for a commission sale. I'll be taking this down and making that visit ASAP, so anyone interested, please get in touch ASAP. I'm also taking away the option of the Hiscox case, as they're not going to be easily replaced now and I want to keep one. Sorry, but UK sales only I'm afraid.

Just to add a data point, I have a BAM200, TC450, Ashdown Evo VI 600 and Bugera V1000, and I use the BAM200 almost exclusively for gigs and practices now, along with a Gnome 10" speaker.

+1 vote for P-Ray as the name. Cool bass!

As I mentioned before, the clips I've seen of him recently do seem to indicate a cognitive issue. He really does seem lost at times. Really feel for him. It makes me think of Brian Wilson and all those we've seen before pushing the envelope when time should already have been called.
