What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

Or Olympic grade stumbling on stairs and competitive vocabulary reduction? those are quite crucial criteria- on no account should any US president be young enough to manage to string a sentence together and keep it on-topic -
It's actually a final chorus, after 3 verse and chorus combos before. It's a semi-respectable 1'54", so not really Napalm Death length!

UPDATED: Price dropped to £220 This is a fantastic little practice amp that I'm only selling as I'm now using my son's amp in the rehearsal room instead so it's surplus to requirements. In good condition bar the paint on the bottom front corners that has come off at some point. It's mostly been sat on my desk bar a couple of occasions taking to friends house and is from a smoke free home if that matters to you. Selling with 'Poweradd Pilot pro 2' external power pack that fits under the handle for portability - if you don't want this then the amp will be £200. Welcome to try if seriously interested, message me and we can arrange. Payment preferred by bank transfer but will accept cash. All documents included but no box unfortunately so I won't be posting.

Tried listening to The Stranglers today....

Yes, it was the Raven tour, what an iconic image that Raven is. I've also seen them many times over the years and still enjoy seeing them with the latest line-up -
I don't fear the basswood, I'm sure MM have their reasons for using it and they certainly have a lot more experience in instrument construction than I do!
-
At the price point it can be a bit hit and miss but had a Sonic and it was a decent bass.

Only slightly shorter than ‘Thunderbirds are go’ our opener years ago. A song that had a longer walk on tape intro and generally left pub crowds confused 🤣
-
Don't fear the basswood. The Bongo has nothing to prove at this point, basswood works. And it has a big old booty. I'd be thankful for the lighter basswood body of the EBMM, over heavy mahogany. Also, I'm not sure what 'indonesian mahogany' really is, but it may not be actual mahogany. (edit: I'm guessing here)

Raven tour? I saw them on that tour in Leeds. It was amazing and I went on to see them many, many times subsequently. I’ve not seen them more recently however, since they became ‘The Strangler’. 😉 -
Haha, allow me to put the counter! Being invited to play at someone's wedding is a real privilege and can be a huge amount of fun! The guests are there to have a great time, all you need to do is play your part and it can be an absolute blast. And, nope, I don't agree that a function band is not just a pub band in a different better-paid setting, well not the better more successful function bands anyway. One of the things that disheartened me most initially was taking our material and approach that worked really well at pubs and finding that it fell flat at functions. Personally I think if you're looking to get into function work you need to step up from a hobby / "bit of fun" mindset, which you can get away with as a pub band, to looking to be a more professional / slick / tightly performing set up. Sure, it will usually mean arriving earlier than you would need to for a pub gig, and we're also prepared to travel quite a bit further for functions than for pub gigs as they will pay 2 to 3 times as much as a typical pub gig - the £400/function gig figure @mrtcat is very decent indeed, fwiw we're typically on less than that for most of our function gigs.
