As new still sealed in packs, 3 sets available £10.50 per set including postage. I have been trying various brands of strings on a number of basses, whilst these are very nice I'm going to Dunlop's for my fretted Warwick. To my ears the Eden's seem similar to Rotosounds, maybe not quite as 'zingy' initially.

Personally, if I could only keep one, I would keep the U5. I had the Jaguar SS a few years back and I don’t recall it being as well made and I also recall the Jag being a real neck diver but I might be confusing it with the 32” humbucker version I also owned for a while. I love the rolled edges on the U5 neck, the flamed maple top (unless you have the green one), the lack of hum and the serrated saddles. I guess in the Jag’s favour: it is easier to upgrade things like the bridge and machine heads (standard Fender pattern) and it has more conventional contouring (belly and arm cuts). However, the U5 is the first “cheap” bass that I have not felt the need to upgrade. The bridge pickup could be stronger but I remember the Jag’s being even more pathetic and the P not being that great either. Each to their own though. It will be interesting to hear where you land. BTW what’s wrong with having two shorties? -
If I bought a HX stomp, a pinstripe MISO and at least one 3leaf pedal would that count?

I think the key part of that infomercial was where he was saying he was playing their own pedal back to them and they didn't realise it was their pedal... he can make gear sound good - that goes a long way. Plus - good marketing, and a really condidered feature set.

Agree with this. Back then they were really cutting edge and had great service. I've kept mine and I love the cabs. The only issues are the buttons.

If her bath is big enough, perhaps you could pop round and give her advice on reaching the high notes. (Don't drop the i-Pad in though.) Recommend the guitarist for the award of MBE and see if he cottons on.

Immaculate condition and in original box. This pedal needs no introduction, it’s a bass rig on your pedal board. Selling because I prefer my alternative option for DI. Price includes shipping to locations in the UK. I did the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

Excellent. Hope it brings you years of playing-happiness.

Pickup mods to a bitsa Jaguar. Advice please.
philw replied to philw's topic in Repairs and Technical
Thanks for the thoughts all. I think the issue of tonal variation is that the way things are at present, I’m simply not getting much contribution from the bridge pickup, and being passive there’s not really much can be done about that. I just need more middy J tone. And then if I factor in the single-coil hum issues, some kind of “humbucking” active PJ solution seems a reasonable way to go. I’m properly tempted by the EMG PJ, but of course very aware that I might be wasting my time/money and should have gone out for dinner or bought a book. Just not a book on guitar mods. P -
If you don't own one of these, a Noble/Capo and a Cali 76, are you even really a bass player

I did this and it went down really well, they were apologetic that I'd been committed for so long (same length as you). Do it sooner rather than later and keep searching.

Tearfully say "We need to talk. I'm not ready for this kind of relationship - you deserve better, it's not you, it's me." Then run away laughing and shout "Smell ya'later losers!" (try not to trip over at this point).

Some hairspray rock bands would still have been alive and well around '89; the Likes of Poison, for example. Unfortunately for them, a certain band from Seattle upset the apple cart a mere two years later. -

It's difficult when you realise a band has no future (especially when you like the people in the band) and you have to bail out. I've done it a couple of times. I recommend asking ChatGPT ,or Grok, how you would write a very diplomatic 'Dear John' letter to your band. I'm sure the AI will come up with something you could use.

Tell them you will pick them all up on the way to the next gig, but don't. Then replace them all with new band members.

Their horrendous levels of enthusiasm almost make me not want one. I do still want one though.
