  1. Past hour
  2. Hardest album we've played, best gig we've done
  3. Great setup @Linus27, nothing boring there imo.
  4. Many thanks for your excellent reply and pictures, so much more information than I thought I would discover. I've spent the afternoon looking up Lorne and trying to find out more about him. He does appear on many BC Rich forums and Facebook but I never came across any references to the bands he played in, if any. He was able to access a workshop and made the bass lying flat, at the front, with the zig-zag pattern down the fretboard. I think he made the orange bass, with holes, also. When I bought the Ironbird I was only in the house for 10 minutes or so but it was mentioned that Lorne had died and that the last guitar they sold took ages to sell so they were surprised that this one had sold in 40 minutes. What happened to the others? Lorne seemed to buy and sell quite a bit. Most of his postings were around 2007, I think, so perhaps they were all sold off over the passing years. Perhaps he hung on to his favourites. I knew the Ironbird was worth a bit but not that much! Very surprised!! When I got it home, I noticed that the A and D string rattled on the frets. My first thoughts were that the truss rod needs looking at. The whammy bar is also missing but hey! I found a good luthier in Cornwall and was going to take the guitar over but when I rang, he told me he had now retired. (Despite having a full-on website still up and running!) I'll look for someone else. 🙂
  5. Will do and if i do get the schematics i'll be more than happy to share them here
  6. Keep us informed of your progress.
  7. I have asked them to send the spring.
  8. My apologies that i didn't pick up on that point. I was too focused on bass things. Congrats and hope all went well for both baby and Mom. Dave
  9. The Brother to Brother album was a turning point in my musical direction when it came out. Not just the bass but the drumming was exceptional and the full production was clear and distinct. Just a perfect album. Have a wee listen to Vannellis recent bassist Sandin Wilson's solo album "Into My World" which is pretty good. He was coached by Jimmy Haslip for a bit and Haslip suggested what fretless to go for. Dave
  10. Well I can tell you exactly what I'll be playing and it's not very interesting or original 😂 Fender Japan 60's Classic Precision with LaBella Deep Talkin Flats. Sansamp BDDI, Ampeg Opto Compressor, Boss or MXR Octave and TC Electronic Tuner. Boring but a solid workhorse setup 😂
  11. Sorry, my bad... The thing is i posted this on several forums and perhaps due to english not being my native language, i suspect i didn't manage to convey what i meant as most everyone keeps answering to everything but what i asked - schematics ( i HAVE contacted Epifani..) does anyone have them/knows where i can get them besides Epifani, and saving time to my tech who is in the middle of full tourist season here and overloaded w/ work. Obviously he can get to it without the schematics but, as you well know, it's way simpler/faster if you have them specially if your work load is double or triple what it is in autumn/winter - musicians here are in full gigging mode for the next couple of months Nevermind, i'll just wait for Epifani to answer but thanks for the input anyway
  12. Singist hits some loud shit in our Odelay gig, went great, could have been better, could have been worse, Beck has said the same about his own gigs
  13. Huge fan Neil, thank you so much for these!! Really appreciate all your hard work on the albums themselves and for making these available to us, you're an absolute gent! 🤘🏼🙏🏼

  15. I really should try to do this more @casapete - but I think the old punk bassist in me just likes digging in too much! Lol 😀
  16. Thanks for that @SuperSeagull Mine still has the same functions to the controls - but I think I'd prefer the arrangement you have, with 2x vol and 2x tone. I definitely prefer a passive bass. Only once did a battery fail on me at a gig... but it's a lasting memory. It was quick enough to fix at the time (I usually carry a spare battery) but a pre-amp fail - ooh, that's a scary thought for a live gig, even though I'm sure it doesn't happen often.
  17. Yeah I get that, I’m going to Carlisle for a long weekend soon and it’s £350 before I’ve spent anything on food/refreshments.
  18. OK. The spring does make contact when the switch is depressed but there isn't enough of it to activate the microswitch. I popped a nylon pick between the TACT and the spring, tried again and there is a definite click and the light activates and deactivates. So it's down to the spring. The serial number is - IMG_0880.HEIC IMG_0882.HEIC
  19. There's 2 great things you get on an acoustic guitar with a pickup that you never see on bass guitars: A battery level indication and tuner. Why are these guys things on acoustic guitars but not on basses?
  20. It's usually worked for me except on my stingray special, I think there's some extra jiggery pokery in there.
  21. I had the very same setup, awesome kit, so easy to use. The monitor outs were really useful. Tempted......
  22. Did it come with it's own risk assessment? You'll be having someone's eye out with that, if you're not careful.......
  23. @Allen they are standard 5 string soapbars, even on the 4 string
