I’m the opposite tone with a pick is very much my goal to make it punchy and full sounding / a cross of finger fullness and pick drive tone. I can do both methods and prefer to set my amp to sound the best with a pick. Playing rock in a single guitar band requires the bass to be present full and driving

Must be the environmental then (am spraying in an unheated, uninsulated shed, so save for wind whatever's going on outside is happening inside also). I'm using the same timings as before, as instructed on the can (3 minute shake, 2 coats 5 minutes apart at 6"/15cm distance, 15 mins touch dry, 24 hour cure), so I left it 15 mins between double coats and that was working fine for the past two nights. I know men cannot be relied upon 100% to know what six inches looks like, but I'd like to think I was in the ball park most of the time...

Hi, it's just me and an isolated bass track... It's not a fast song 🤞 sorry I can't reply to everyone!

Very good points. I have posted dodgy footage as it’s all I have… need to reconsider!

Depends on the construction of the guitar, scale-length and tuning and the amount of processing applied. The 28" scale Baritone guitar I had that was tuned B-B produced wonderfully rich sounding chords even in the first position. That was with a fairly clean sound. On the other hand the 30" A-A tuned guitar I tried was only useful for individual picked lines.

You chose wisely.

Hi there, Thanks for your messages and 🔊 advice! There is a slower part of the song where I can take a deep breaths. The stage isn't too large so won't feel lost. Just off for my final bass lesson with my bass teacher James Formosa who is a 🌟 and will be there on Sunday. I am opening the day at noon so at least I can enjoy the other bands after my "performance" Will try to get someone to record it so I can do my first BC upload! Nick would be glad you're supporting his little sister, thank you all 🤟

Basses put up for sale, didn't sell and became a main bass.

Put this bitsa up for sale a while back but (thankfully) no takers. It's the first one I reach for now: -

Small "Hifi" amp head recommendations sought!

WTH does that mean? Transparent to me means clean with no particularly definable sonic signature of it's own with the EQ flat. Harley Benton Block 800B. Very clean especially if used as just the (ICEpower 700AS) power section. -
Oh that seems worth it - I did say I wasn't getting any more lights but that will fill in a space

As your paint dilution and viscosity could be discarded, the orange peel effect appears when you're too far from the surface or too many passes (the paint is not dry enough between passes) or when there's a draft, or all of these.

I use these for guitar (sometimes the green 0.88m version): I use these for bass (though sometimes the red 1.5mm version): I don't really consider the exact tonal benefits of a pick, I just like a good amount of rigidity as opposed to 'flex' and I only really consider types of picks that are readily available and easy to source. I also love the stubby triable picks because they are very large (so more difficult to lose), durable, easy to hold and it doesn't matter which point I use. I don't generally EQ the amps differently between fingers and pick playing on bass.

Oh yes of course unless you isolate the amp but I guess he has considered that simple solution. -
i know that the height needs to be the same. not a big deal, i guess. yet somebody (in the origin threat maybe) spoke of radius-issues. like i said: didn't get it here's another 50:50 type, sent by a gentleman in the equal-bassic-threat.

My limited experience of using a baritone is that chords mostly sound like mud. Bass or lead lines with a plectrum seemed to work well

And with better bearings when there are some, better suspension, better material for the blades, better designed blades, better overall alignment, softer material for the housing, ... wait a minute that's a Noctua fan. 🫣😉
