What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

Its not really news anymore. Its all opinion reporting. You can have two different outlets reporting the same story with the same facts and while one portrays it as a great thing, the other portrays it as utter failure. I don't want opinion, just fact me and fact me hard. There was better reporting on Not The Nine o'clock News -

Even with 24 hour rolling news muppets the stories break first on social media anyway. Some one will already have filmed it and posted it on toktik or instascam with whatever interpretation they wish to convey. -

My band played a short set at my wedding. Didn’t give it a thought then, and haven’t since. If a wedding ring cause issues it may be a technique issue? Also, possibly overthinking, or protesting too much (if you know what I mean) 🤣

Bass nerd question: what model is the non-66 RI Jazz lurking behind? Also, does this mark WoT becoming a Jazz afficionado rather than the dedicated Precision guy of the last umpteen years? -

Im sure they just make stuff up. Any time they quote an anonymous source or "insiders tell us" that just means theyre making it up. And then there's the shouting a question that they know the target would never answer and do it at the same time as a dozen other journalists are shouting equally pointless questions just so they can say "Mr Bottomflaps has refused to comment about the situation involving the Chancellor and a hamster" - Today

Or even worse, when they're waiting for something to happen, the whole channel has programmes cancelled while a news anchor says "from our correspondent at... What's happening there?" and correspondent says "we're expecting that X or Y might happen, and here's the building it might happen in, and there may be some people in there who it will happen to or will do the happening". Then it's back to anchor who calls up an expert to do some vaguely informed speculating on whether the thing is going to happen. This is repeated until News can no longer justify taking over the channel for no good reason*. And meanwhile, we're all missing Bargain Hunt! *when I worked for Auntie Beeb, News were incredibly arrogant - they felt that all the other programmes were just filler between news. I'm sure that's true of all news organisations!
