danhkr started following EB MUSICMAN STINGRAY 4 3EQ inc UK shipping
-
For sale is my Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 3EQ from I believe 2010. I hesitate to say ‘as new’ in case there’s something I’ve missed, but it looks pretty much immaculate to me. USA made obviously, finish is Tobacco Sunburst and it looks, plays and sounds fantastic. Weight according to my scales is 8.85 lbs or 4kg which in my experience is light for a Stingray. Comes with the original Musicman hard case too and still has the ‘case candy’ pack with the wipes etc. Due to current family circumstances and work commitments, unfortunately collection would be difficult, so price includes insured UK shipping and the bass will be securely packaged. I do have my eye on another bass, so trades are unlikely, but I do like AVRI Jazzes Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks

Thanks! Ooh, thank you. I did a bit of internet searching late last night and found this 15" cabinet on ebay which looks to be the same model as mine and the badge looks the same as your 3D printed one: Close up of the ebay cabinet badge: But this is the badge on my 2x10 and it is different. In fact it looks very like the badges on the new Elf cabinets so maybe it is a late model? Thanks for that, very useful and sounds right - I downloaded the service manual last night (which is when I discovered the 'valve drive' knob is connected to an actual valve) and couldn't find anything on the circuits powering a panel. I see some photos on the 'net of them lit up (see below) but there are so many different models it's hard to be sure which is which. -

Good question and sorry for not making that clearer earlier... @Beedster is in Whitstable I believe. I think the idea is about finding a very temporary home for the combo that Chris could collect from, that's a closer to where he lives than Bedfordshire, which is where I'm based. Having said all of that, I realise it's quite an ask, so please don't worry if it's not possible for you. -
I just bought a set of gold Y tuners from Ash and it was a pleasure to deal with him. Great price for tuners exactly as described , well packed and quickly dispatched. Thanks again Ash 👍

The sh** show that is Royal mail / ParcelForce
Beedster replied to leschirons's topic in General Discussion
For the last year at least I've used Parcelforce whenever possible, due in large part to the really good driver here. Anyway, tried to book a collection for Wednesday and it was a lot more complex than usual and didn't offer the usual time slots, which delayed the whole thing as I was only going to be home in the afternoon, albeit when the driver usually comes by (around 3.00 each day). Postman arrived yesterday morning with a load of bills and also asked for the items he had to collect, which were going into the back of his small postie van. Turns out that Parcelforce have now handed collections and deliveries to Royal Mail, which strikes me as a pretty bad move for us punters given RM are not exactly state of the art -
Oof, I love that! Lane Poor pickup too. Prototype then? More info needed!

Thanks for the advice My bones are mended. Got a call from the doctor last week after an X-ray and it's healed just fine, and I can put strain on my shoulder as usual. I was looking for a new strap because the metal plate is still on the bone and it's still sensitive. I have bought a Slinger strap a few weeks back, that was designed for your right shoulder and that works perfectly!

Hi, I haven't had these for long (I used to own both these pedals many years ago, but bought them for the second time recently), but a recent change in musical direction has now made these obsolete. I have about 700€ invested in these and I' m looking to get back 650€ for them which seems reasonable considering the ridiculous prices the seperate pedals go for these days. I'm selling to fund some new hardware and onboard pre-amp for my main axe, so I'm not interested in trades this time, sorry.. Shipping from Belgium. Sales pitch: Up for sale is this magnificant duo of rare pedals made by Spencer at 3 Leaf Audio. The Proton is his take on the Mutron III filter and it doesn't get much funkier than this! The Doom is a unique sounding fuzz that is extremely dynamic and can get supersynthy. When combined these pedals offer a wide variety of funky and synthy sounding tones that are used by lany great artist that are looking to get someyhing "extra" out of their pedalboard (think of Stuart Zenders work with Jamiroquai, Tim Lefebre, Janek Gwizdala,...) Due to the very limited production these are very hard to come by and they keep going up in value, so finding a set like these two is quite a rare opportunity. Both pedals come with the original packaging and can be shipped worldwide. Kind regards, Don

I will admit, I have noticed that bass players tend not to lean into an attitude of "prima-donna" that guitarists / singers often do. It is one of the reasons I was curious to switch to bass.

Is there a warm room in your house ? (where the boiler is or similar). Maybe some time in a dry / warm environment like that would help dry it out. And I agree 100% with the Bi Carb. Does wonders.

There’s a new 2 x 12 based on the 4 x10 size cab. That would be a good choice -

Mike Campbell- Heartbreaker Acclaimed autobiography of Tom Petty’s right hand man. Why wait six months for the paperback? Perfect hardback copy. Cover price £25, yours for £18 posted UK. Now £16…Now £15 This is genuinely my favourite music biography of the past year. Though I will never feel the same about Tom Petty again… Bit of publishers blurb: When a chance encounter with a guidance counsellor inspired him to enrol in the University of Florida, Campbell - broke, with nowhere else to go and the Vietnam draft looming - moved into a rundown farmhouse in Gainesville, where he met a twenty-year-old Tom Petty. They were soon inseparable. Together they chased their shared dream all the way to Los Angeles, where Campbell would meet his destiny, and the love of his life, Marcie. It was an at-times gruelling dream come true that took Campbell from the very bottom to the absolute top, where Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers would remain for decades, creating an astonishing body of work. Brilliant, soft-spoken and intensely private, Campbell opens up within these pages for the first time, revealing himself to be an astute observer of triumphs, tragedies and absurdities alike, with a songwriter's eye for the telling detail and a voice as direct and unpretentious as his music. Heartbreaker is Mike Campbell's heartfelt portrait of one throwaway kid's lifesaving love of music and the creative heights he achieved.
