  2. Can't go wrong with the older Peavey gear - my BW15 and Mark VI head have seen maybe 1000 gigs and 40y of use. I hardly use it now as I use my rig for bass, guitar and baritone so I'm building a large FRFR rig to cover everything. However, I could put it in the car in a minute's notice and use it happily for a bass gig. Living in the sticks now, there's little point in selling it as it's not worth much and shipping would kill that.
  3. In fairness, when the plans came out, LFSys didn't exist, and a Barefaced 1x12 with a bit more power handling would be about three times the price of putting one together. I really think that somebody should buy mine.
  4. I've never before had a rig that has a sound that gets so many positive comments. I've got some amazing amps full of bottles that I love dearly but a "proper" 😉 Spector into a Cali76 then into the big GK Fusion 550 through a Barefaced (or two) is where we've got to.
  5. You'll generally only have three leads to worry about - ground, battery negative, and signal. As long as ground and negative aren't connected together, and signal goes to tip, you're OK. The issue of which of the other two goes to ring and to sleeve is generally not relevant except if you're using one of the Boss wirelesses which have stereo plugs and charge through the plugs, as they expect (IIRC) ground to be sleeve and battery negative to be ring.
  6. thanks
  7. That stirred me into walking across the room and looking in the soundhole of mine, which turns out to be a DE6 - looks identical to the DE7. A quick bit of research shows that mine has a spruce top and the DE7 has a cedar top.
  8. I've got the same long thin one on my Stomp. The other one is an adaptor for European two-pin plug type power supplies which finishes up as a bulky awkward mess. The long thin one with the adaptor plate isn't ideal but it's far, far better than the two-pin adaptor.

    Bricked Helix

Might be worth doing a factory reset first. There are various options: https://line6.com/support/topic/35415-how-to-do-a-factory-reset/?do=findComment&comment=321227 Footswitches 6 and 12 will force it into update mode, then use the updater to, er, update it.
  10. Shape is all wrong on the body so defo not a Rick, in fact everything is wrong, inlays, fretboard wood, bridge, tailpiece, pickups etc, Chinese copy by anniversary, going by the bridge and general appearance. They are horrible, they tended to use Seymour Duncan pickups.
  11. Yesterday
  12. hiya, 8lb 6 or about 3.8 kg matey
  13. My daughter was two years old when I joined Basschat, played her first gig last night at sixteen. She hasn't been playing long, but has picked it up remarkably quickly. Must be in the blood. Proud Dad moment.

  14. 13A mains cable is way more than required. You could run a space heater at 5m on it. Your biggest hassle is going to he soldering the big wire onto your plugs, and hoping the strain relief holds.
  15. Red Mosquito - Pearl Jam
  16. Latest incarnation of my board, transplanted onto a Pedaltrain Metro 20 kindly supplied by our own @spacecowboy. This will probably be the last incarnation of the doubling board (for electric, acoustic, EUB, and double bass). If I acquire any more pedals I’ll probably split between an electric board, and a second board for the acoustic, EUB, and double bass gigs.
  17. Public I midge. PIL
  18. I don’t think that’s Chinese , looks made in Japan.
  19. Back from my gig already, even after a cheeky post-gig burger with the boys. We did 7:30 to 9:30 - the landlady prefers the Saturday revellers to go elsewhere to get rat-arsed and cause trouble. That was fine by us, especially as we do this gig "acoustically". I love playing the EUB. It just makes me want to put in comical fills and slides. We had a whale of a time. I forgot to take any photos though. Stagg EUB direct into my Rumble 500. Vans footwear. Funnily enough due to a slight mix up in the diaries we are back there in 2 weeks time. That will be a Sunday afternoon outside if possible, so I hope the weather is good.
  20. If its not already sold, what is the weight please? Know these can be nice and light!

    Bricked Helix

I bricked my stomp whilst updating so I bought another. I finally got around to selling the old one and that point there was new firmware. I updated it and it worked. Don't give up just yet.
  22. The voltage drop you need to worry about is from one end of the cable to the other. Tauzero's power equation is what you need, and you need to measure the resistence of the wire but trust me 13A is plenty, the resistence of the wire will be tiny, orders of magnitude lower than the resistence of the cabinet.
  23. And all my jack-jack speaker cables are 2-core flexible mains cable.
  24. 8 ohm cab? Power = I^2 * R, substituting known values 200 = I^2 * 8 (assuming it's an 8 ohm cab) so I^2 = 12.5, so the current is about 3.5A.
  25. True, but I have the cable and connectors sat in the garage.
