  1. Past hour
  2. In my only band that had originals we just agreed not to gig any of the songs solely written by the departed member. Thus said we did record and release things pretty quickly so no one could really try to release something in their own name withour referencing the band as the recording was already on spotify etc. If any of the departed song writers wanted to re-record and release again I don't think I would have a problem - I think legally the song IP belongs to the writer, but the recording IP belongs to all those on the recording, so a songwriter can re-record and re-release, but musicians can't... I think...
  3. Just build it a little shorter, no one will know!🤣
  4. I already did so on your behalf the egg whisk was a surprise …
  5. Seemingly Irish s/h prices are mental, 300 euros for a second hand sr300😭 Last year I managed to pick up a Harley benton deluxe gotoh with foam case and flats for 130 which is amazing in both price and fit and finish, it's my most gigged bass as my atk sits on the stand. I'm buying my son his own and he's firm on wanting a j style bass
  6. If it gets red and hot, see the doctor about serious antibiotics. That's what I needed.
  7. Tony is round the corner too… £1650 worth of bricks aren’t needed…right? 😫
  8. I thought I'd get a better photo of the rig at last night's gig as it was a bit less cramped. Lekato wireless dongles are visible on top of the amp and the cab.
  9. F ING auto text. But she never complains.
  10. Overwater Progress basses left one Top Walnut Body Ash Neck Wenge 33 Inch Right one Top Burl Maple Body Mahogany 5 piece Through neck 34 inch Status S2 CW pickup spacing Top figured Walnut Body Mahogany Graphite through neck
  11. Nice! A fantastic bass for a great price!
  12. this has @AndyTravis all over it, lucky hes in Italy atm 🤣
  13. Last night was at the pub closest to my house - the Gamecock in Birchmoor, about a ten minute walk over the M42 footbridge (but about a five minute drive as you have to go the long way round). We got a whole room with a goodly amount of space but not a very big audience - scraped into double figures. However, they were very very enthusiastic and the landlord wants us back, and a farmer who was there said he'd like to get us in to play in his barn.
  14. Is the fuse on the high side (i.e. mains side of the transformer) or between the PSU and the amp or speaker outputs?
  15. Got one done again just in time... Hey, what's the rush? Life's too hectic. Take a stroll, breathe a little and just enjoy being in the moment. Eko 12 string acoustic, Vester Catalina P-Bass, Westfield Les Paul, Yamaha keys and a drum sample from Looperman. Recorded without any bells and whistles with Wavepad and Audacity.
  16. Found this new dealer exclusive shell pink Euro Classic 4 and 5, seems like they have a regular classic version and one with the roasted neck (check the paint / natural finish transition at the heel) Some German and Japaneese dealers have them, though I have no idea about worldwide availability or exclusivity. Cool color and I must say it is a great time to be a Spector aficionado, even if my wallet does not think so.
  17. As it turns out, me. Decided to put my big boy pants on and get the tedious stuff started at least. So now, the area around the neck pocket looks a bit less like someone attacked it with a router and ran away. There's still quite a sharp transition into the new shape, but I've got it about as good as I can be bothered with. All done the old fashioned way, with sandpaper round various diameters of dowel etc. - I must be mad, but I'm in a real anti power tool mood today, just can't be bothered with the noise, I think!
  18. Today
  19. Had also been asked about the weight of this: 4.15 kg / 9.15 lbs
  20. A trip from Tyneside across the other side to Liverpool for another Eagles tribute gig. Big brewery / shed type venue - lovely room, lovely staff, top-drawer PA & techs. No monitors, so had to grin and bear IEMs. Still don't love them. New MIJ Jazz - with new pickups - continues to be my friend.
  21. Sadowsky Metroline PJ german made Sadowsky in ocean blue it’s in great condition, comes with Sadowsky case At some point the pick up knob has been swapped round so it’s ‘normal’ You don’t see many P style Sadowsky, most P/J basses seem to be based on there Jazz body I will get some better photos tomorrow as these are awful Im in Manchester and if you don’t know me then check my feedback Tony
  22. Overwaters and Status, models please. Kool set you own.
  23. That I like very much (Punchy)......'Deep in Wallonia' LOL
  24. No, we haven't tried someone else holding the mic. It'll be the next step, as the desk is new, the mic is new as was the cable at the last practice.
  25. I'm so glad you liked them, I'm always nervous when recommending expensive kit.
  26. Hi John, it's good that you are moving forwards. We all get things wrong I was playingat a brewery on Fri and forgot to turn on the speakers. Nothing to do with craft beer of course First of all you are less likely to make mistakes once you start using the CQ mixer, you can see straight away if a chnnel is overloading on the meters. You can also save the mix once you have it right. A friend and quite a good sound tech offered to mix out front for us on Fri. Once I'd switched the speakers on he listened for a couple of minutes and said 'it sounds good, nothing for me to do'. That's the same mix you heard a coupleof weeks back and the one we've used for about 5 consecutive gigs. The second thing was suggested by Mike my duo partner. "Why not do what we do" which is that we rehearse with the monitors, then halfway through rehearsal we turn them off and point the PA at ourselves and rehease with that. It gives you plenty of time to get the settings right between songs and you know exactly what the audience are hearing without disrupting a rehearsal. Save or make a not of settings and you have a starting point for the gigs which will work, with perhaps a bit of tweaking to match the room.
