  3. Hi Ovi, thanks! Nice to hear from you! Are you back in bass business? This bass could be yours 😜
  4. 2 superb bass cabs In great condition, that have served me well but dont get used anymore and need a new home. Everything works without any issues, a couple of hex nuts missing off the back but can be easily replaced for pence if you really need to. Comes with 2 Hotcovers protective covers worth over £100. Would be interested in a trade for a Fender Mustang Bass. Specs Ashdown ABM 410H 600w 8ohm Ashdown ABM 115 300w 8ohm

  7. Same as above for me
  8. It depends on how low you have the action set but if it's as low as it can go without not playing at all, then it seems like you might need to tweak the neck relief until the neck is dead straight and then investigate whether there is too much neck angle. If you're still getting fret buzz in the upper frets despite having a straight neck then reduce the neck angle a smidge with a thinner shim (assuming one is in there). Then you'll only have to adjust the action.
  9. Many thanks Andy, especially appreciate the advice re impedance 🙏 Any plans to bring out a Subway combo?
  10. Hey BRX - super impressed that you're thinking of giving the FI v4 a go given your previous position on synth pedals. IMO it's almost certainly the best of the bunch and on my own wish-list for 2026 especially if the next software update proves to be as useful as we think it might well be! I can't answer your first query (which I'll leave @Quatschmacher to revert on), but regarding the second just wanted to reassure that I've been fortunate in not having a PSU plug fail on me once during hundreds of gigs for my pedal board, which I use to power a Harley Benton Powerplant for multiple pedals on my board, although with some of my PSUs the wire connections have got worn over periods of time and needed replacing. I guess the safe thing is to take a spare? In the unlikely/unfortunate event of failure, it should take no more than a minute to swap them over during a gig. I agree with you about getting one with the correct polarity rather than risking a polarity reverse add-on, which shouldn't be needed in any event for anything sub 2A. And I'm sure you're already planning on getting one with a decent cable length for ease of use and not going for the cheapest. Appreciate that doesn't directly answer your Q - thought I'd best leave that to an actual FI owner to come up with a recommendation! If you do go for it, really look forward to hearing how you get on with the FI v4 VIP.
  11. I had one of the very first available over here, sold it to a friend who still owns it, something like 20 years later and still running flawlessly, except for the dead battery, of course. I always fancied a red one. If only I was still playing bass or double bass ... GLWYS.
  12. I’ve just given it a try with a P bass too, i like the amount that it dampens, it’s not too much, seems quite even across the strings aswell, quite pleased with it
  13. Today
  14. Got mine a few hours ago. Had a quick play on my P bass (with and without pick). I like the thud im getting. It seems to work exactly as I was hoping. A mate asked me if it works on a 5 string, and it does. It's a bit fiddlly to get on and off for individual songs though. Guess it will get easier with practice.
  15. Pretty sure the format will be the same, though would be nice if they have taken onboard the feedback about that and adapted the format.
  16. The nut height is out of the equation as soon as you fret a note though. I know relief and string height are personal preference, but I always go for the below as standard on my basses: Relief - fretting the first fret and last fret (with my elbow!) on the E string, I should be able to slide a .50mm pick under the gap above the 8th fret without any gap or raising the string String height - Using a steel rule, I fret the first fret then measure the gap between the 12th fret and the string, then go in increments as below: E = 4/32" A = 3.5/32" D = 3.5/32" G = 3/32" This might be a bit higher than standard but it's not too high and works for me. Once I've set up as above, I usually have little to no fret buzz. If I do, on fretted notes, it's highly likely to be a high fret issue further up the neck. I've also experienced the dreaded ski jump! Also, on open strings with this set up, I've found that any buzzing on lower frets is usually a nut height issue.
  17. Great bass! Missing pix though. Is there something up with Imgur? About half the threads these days just show this: Photos can be directly inserted into BC, and if you're out of space then old ones can be deleted from your account.
  18. Hello, Does anyone have any experience with the Ltd Elite J-5 bass? I was offered something like this in exchange but I can’t find much information about it. It would also be interesting to know what price range they are in.
  19. Yeah I love this colour combo!! 🙌
  20. Last night we had our first stadium gig. 80,00 screaming fans, helicopter in and out, 50kw PA, individual dressing rooms. Then I woke up from my pre-gig nap. It's true we were in a stadium - the Swansea.com stadium - but sadly all the rest of it was fanciful daydreaming. Last night the Hull band played in support of the annual 'Big Sleep Out' event, raising money for the local homeless charity drop in centre, Matthews House. We've been raising money for them for years and we regularly play with their choir so they asked up to do a short set at the event, in which folks get sponsored to spend a night sleeping out in the open. We were due to play in the stand overlooking the pitch (the pitch itself was strictly off limits to all) but Storm Claudia put paid to any open air performance, and instead we played in the main concourse under one of the stands. The audience was limited to the people who were volunteering to sleep out, the choirs and the staff and volunteers who were helping out on the night - about 200 in total. Swansea City football club were sponsoring the whole event, hence the venue. We were due to play for about 30 minutes; the choir kicked off the entertainment and we joined them for three songs before carrying on. We ended up playing on longer than expected as the audience kept asking for one more song. Well, you can't say no to the punters. Eventually, the stadium's own noise curfew brought us to a stop. Great atmosphere, dancing, singing along etc and more than £42,000 raised by the time we'd finished playing. And no, that wasn't money paid to get us to stop. We used the stadium's events PA but our own desk as we are a 13 piece and we brought our own sound engineer. My kit for the night was my Squier PJ into a Behringer pedal tuner (I just can't get on with clip-on tuners) which also acts as a mute and my Ampeg SCR DI. Straight into the desk as usual. Outfit was geared towards remaining warm and black boots completed the look. Highlights for me included dedicating and playing the song 'Heroes' (already a favourite) to the folks staying out overnight and dancing with the choir leader at the back for our encore of 'Hey Jude'. The Matthews House choir The stadium. Ready to soundcheck Mid gig
  21. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  22. So, are we all agreed that the UK plug/socket design is the best on the planet? Good.
  23. Might have come at a good time for me. I was a little underwhelmed with the previous BassRigs (and the non-defeatable cabsim) but I will be checking out the videos on the 18th for sure.
  24. You can also nail jellies to the ceiling but it is complicated because of the hoards of squealing kiddies milling around the base of your stepladder clutching empty dessert bowls while you do it. Point taken however.
  25. Communication. Have a non-rehearsal band get together and talk it through. Better to get it out in the open and remain friends.
  26. Ideal for rehearsal and small to medium gigs. Don't let the small size deceive you. I also found the people at Phil Jones really helpful when I needed info for a small repair.
