  2. I get cramp when I try to play with a pick these days as well. I went back to fingerstyle after playing with a pick for several years because I realised that I was a more fluent and had less limitations using my fingers. I was just a better player that way. I do occasionally meet people who remember me as a pick player. I actually started out playing fingerstyle because of the cool looking, smiling black dude with the afro and P bass in the instructional book I originally learnt from. If he played with his fingers, then obviously I should...!
  3. Hi. I’ve just had a Glockenklang 3 band put into my 2005 BB614 which I bought from Slapmonsta last Dec. He said prev owner Shepster had had the standard preamp modified to include a push/pull volume pot which pops the bass into passive mode. Apart from one older looking pot the shafts on the others look a lot newer with bright looking shafts. Spacing of the B,Mids, Treb pots on the board are 32mm and 32mm. The board says Yamaha QCB7550. This is a great option because the Yamaha pickups have legendary power and passive tone. Note - there isn’t Tone control in passive mode but it’s a quality sound and you can blend the pickups for variation anyway. ** The only caveat ( which Slapmonsta kindly alerted me to ) is that with full volume in active mode , when you pull up the knob for passive the volume drops a lot BUT when you roll OFF the volume control just a little , the volume leaps back to match the full volume of active mode. ** None of us (owners) know why this is but it’s easy to roll off the volume. Priced accordingly and includes UK mainland delivery. I have another BB614/5 for sale like this ( another Glock mod ) which is Standard ( No passive ) so you might prefer that and it has the vol and blend larger knobs with it ( £30 inc delivery ). Cheers. Quent.
  4. Agreed. Some of the world music acts (ie not indie or pop) are just incredible. Also saw a few folk acts whose voices were just amazing.
  5. Interesting .... do post a link. 🤞
  6. I missed Alanis....thank goodness for iplayer
  7. That’s so small ! I just bought a cab with a 15” and it’s huge. It has handles but it’s so wide you can’t use both on your own. mind you I did only pay £10 I put casters on to get around the handle issue
  8. Watched a bit last night English Teacher - excellent, bought their album Super grass - dialling it in 👎 Wet Leg. Not bad, singer has very nice bum Wundahorse - loved 'em. Huge energy and very heavy. + Kim Wilde's son on guitar.....guess he should be in America 😊 Loyle somebody. A rapper. Rap isn't my thing but I enjoyed his set, sort of a jazz/funk rap vibe Franz Ferdinand - not a fan tbh but their set was great. Bassist had a very interesting Rickenbacker - a 3000 series I think. The 1975 - so so, a bit dull tbh Looking forward to tonight's offerings
  9. Yes, need to go. got another GL Japan one (and will buy one more Japan GL as a backup).
  10. Audiences don't care if you use fingers, a pick, your big toe or next door's cats claws, they care about the sound and if you're in the groove. The 'pick or not to pick' debate is a nonsense, use whatever fits the sound. ......just as long as no-one asks us low-enders to smile when on stage. 🤐
  11. I give in, what bass was Badbadnotgoods Chester Hanson playing? Def wasn’t a Grabber that his webpage says he ‘always plays’! edit; found it. An F Bass VF4
  12. Perfect for the start of "Blockbuster"
  13. I really like this board! 🤩
  14. Well I'm going to have to try moving on my recently acquired Markbass Ninja 2x12 cab. My other cabs listed here have no interest whatsoever and I need to pay off my ever ballooning credit card bill! 800w, 8 Ohms and in excellent condition with fitted cover. Gigged a couple of times and rehearsed with it and I was very impressed. Lightweight, compact and portable, fitted easily in the boot of my VW Passat. I'd be keeping it for sure if funds allowed. I bought this for the absolute bargain price of 300 quid and thats what I'm asking for it. Located in St Helens, Merseyside for collection only. 'IF' my other Markbass cabs sell I'll withdraw it. Here's the original sale thread. I'll be happy to post more pictures if required.
  15. Up for sale is my great little Epifani UL 110. 250w 8Ohms. 11.6 Kg Bought for home use but has been to a couple of gigs as an extension cab to my old TKs 112 I had at the time. Easily powerful enough on it's own for acoustic stuff etc. Good overall condition. One of the bottom corner protectors is a bit damaged but it dose its job and the carpet is going a bit bobbly in places. Collection from St Helens. Not sure on postage yet as I'm pretty low on packaging and suitable boxes. Could possibly meet up if not too far.

  18. Absolutely no need to worry about the ratings or the pairing of the amp/cab; generally the biggest/only worry or consideration is not getting the impedance wrong i.e. plugging a pair of 4 ohm cabs (which is 99% sure to be 2 ohms) into an amp that is rated down to 4 ohms minimum.
  19. Price drop now £115! Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam
