  1. Past hour
  2. Hi all, A recent hip replacement has gifted me something special: clarity and a frightening amount of spare time to play with my gear and even more hours to realise I don't need most of it. So, here’s your chance to snag a pedal that’s in excellent condition: gently neglected, thoroughly appreciated, and now ready for a new home! Here is the link to the Blackhole on the Eventide Website. Go ahead, fall down the rabbit hole of overly poetic knob explanations. (‘reverb pedal as big and mysterious as the cosmos.’ What does that mean?)” Alternatively, here's the sales pitch bit Eventide Blackhole – Deep Space Reverb for Bassists Take your bass tone into uncharted territory with the Eventide Blackhole. This pedal delivers massive, ambient reverb from Eventide’s legendary algorithm—perfect for adding atmosphere without muddying your low end. Tailored Control: Dial in your sound with hands-on knobs or go deeper via MIDI and software. Flexible Setup: Works in mono or stereo, with input options for bass guitar or line-level rigs. Studio-Grade Sound: From subtle space to infinite decay, Blackhole keeps your low frequencies tight and clear. Ideal for ambient, experimental, or cinematic bass tones—Blackhole lets your sound breathe and expand. Specification Five presets loaded at your feet with dozens more available with Eventide Device Manager (EDM) software Rear panel Guitar/Line Level switch for selecting use with guitar, synths, FX loop or DAW interface Map any combination of parameters to an Expression Pedal. Use a single Aux switch to Tap Tempo or a triple Aux switch for easy preset changing (up/down/load). MIDI capability over TRS (use with a MIDI to TRS cable or converter box) or USB Multiple Bypass options: Buffered, Relay, DSP+FX or Kill dry Eventide Device Manager PC or Mac application for software updates, system settings and creating/saving presets Fine-tune your tone with Lo, Hi and Q (resonance) controls. Use the tone controls to add airiness or clear up the low-end. Map the EQ controls to an expression pedal to add movement to the reverb tail. Box includes pedal, quick reference guide and universal power supply Recorded delivery within the UK is included in the price. If you’d prefer an alternative postage option, feel free to get in touch to discuss. EU shipping, however, involves a soul-crushing bureaucracy designed by someone who clearly hates bass players. So… no shipping to the EU I'm afraid. I'm happy to answer any questions, though be warned - I’ve spent more time looking at these pedals than actually using them; they’ve basically lived a sparse life under soft lighting. I'm not looking for any trades at the moment. Regards, Neil.
  3. Cool, I only ask as I know there's subtle differences between a big box regular muff and the nano. Id be interested in trying one, as it does seem to have a different vibe.
  4. I think this is an old Gear for Music case that they ship new instruments in. I bought it some years ago for £30 to put a bass on a truck for a tour. It has more than served its purpose and has taken up a corner of the house for too long now. It lost a handle along the way but is still functional. Please help me get some space back! (it wouldn’t let me put zero pounds)
  5. None, it’s just a bit for looks and vibe the big box
  6. This is a ex-school bass. Czech made heavy plywood, swell back, Eb neck. Fingerboard looks like rosewood and has a couple of dings in it. Standard-ish 3/4 size, 105cm scale. It’s a very solid instrument but was being chucked out as the neck had come clean off. Rather than just gluing and screwing it back on I put in some threaded inserts to make it a removable neck. It seems to have worked as has been stable for a good year in which the neck has been on and off a few times. Get yourself a bicycle flightcase and this bass is plane ready. The only problem is it is on the heavy side so the case would have to be light.
  7. Good spot, will amend the post! Yup, made on the same line as the Fender Japan basses as I understand it
  8. Yeah it’s such a looker! The show specified 4 string, thanks
  9. That would be cool
  10. Sorry @Geek99, I’m looking for a German style bow thanks, can’t get on with French. Thanks for the thought though.
  11. Having a bit of a new years clear out having finallt settled on a pedalboard set up I'm happy with (for now). First to go is my Tech 21/Sansamp English Muffy Character Series pedal/DI in excellent condition. Features two channels of the Tech 21 Leeds (Hiwatt) amp emulation and a switchable big muff fuzz, which can also be used independently from the Leeds channel. Obviously great for those overdrive rock and John Entwistle type tones but also a very versatile piece of gear and got some nice clean tones with it, using it on a reggae gig and West African indie/pop gig. I eventually got a Bass Driver V2 as I wasn't in need of the overdriven sounds so much. Has an XLR DI out which comes in handy too. Comes with the box, manual, sticker and power supply. £110 delivered.
  12. @Mediocre Polymath bought a mandolin off of me, coming to my gaff to pick it up. Lovely chap, easy sale - and more space for me!
  13. It’s been sitting in a box since the 90s. I put this on my old Fender Precision for a while before realising the original bridge worked better despite being very crusty. I’m sure it’ll work well on someone else’s bass though… Will post at buyers expense.
  14. I had one of those, until about 11:30 this morning, when it was bought by @Mediocre Polymath. He was so pleased with it, and played it so well, that I nearly offered to buy it back from him! In other news, lots of basschatty mandolin updates can be found here https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/327383-i-fancy-a-mandolin/page/2/#comment-4879070
  15. Ever fancied playing really low notes on double bass? This is the cheapest way to try it and be able to get back to pitch safely and efficiently. Works really well with a metal E string. I have now got a bass with a low C extension so it’s been gathering dust for a while. Still got the box, instructions and everything. Very easy to fit yourself. Will post at buyers expense.
  16. This gig bag is well used and has done its job admirably, taking the damage so my basses haven't - hence the price. Would be suitable for those 'interesting' pub gigs, for under the bed storage or if you want a case for posting. Please read the description. I've tried to picture all damage. This has been my main gig bag for over a decade. It's bloody great but has accumulated wear & tear: Zips - some of the zip pulls have broken off. In every case its only one of a pair affected so there is at least one fully functioning pull for every zip. The action on all zips works fine. Stitching - the top pocket stitching has come away leaving a hole in the bottom of the pocket. The internal protection patch has partially come away and there's a little hole in the bottom of the neck strap. All external straps & handles are fine. Bass not included, obvs. Collection from Sale, South Manchester (M33) 2002
  17. Highly rated compressor pedal. Used it a few times then decided a compressor wasn’t for me. Collect from Leighton Buzzard or will happily post at buyers expense.
  18. Depends on what you want! I'd say warning flags are raised by the fact it says "Surround power Amplifier" in the manual, but only has 2 channels. And that it claims 400W without specifying whether that's peak music power output, RMS output or some other vague measurement. And the only quoted spec is a signal:noise of 80dB - this is pretty low. My hifi amp is 115dB! So I wouldn't call it hifi in any way - you're probably better off sticking with what you've got complete with graphic in tape loop as previously mentioned.
  19. If every 15th person in China alone took up bass then 👍
  20. Boxed and ready to ship within UK if needed
  21. Line 6 Pod Go for sale, price includes UK delivery. Unit in great condition no issues, with UK power supply. Boxed and ready to go. Can do a factory reset if you'd prefer. Get in touch if you have any queries.
  22. Cheers pal, the tort guard has a lovely genuine look to it that is hard to picture. Even the indent left by the thumbrest looks genuine. Ill post a pic tonight of her wearing all her jewellery and the case i can chuck in
  23. Today
  24. this poped up in a google search, no phono input though, are they any good? https://electromarket.co.uk/skytronic-av400-stereo-amplifier-400w-compact-home-audio-power-amp-silver
  25. Hi David, the truth is I haven't tried it yet. I'm not really big on recording other than laying down some bass lines so my duo partner can do solo gigs without me. We've been busy together over Christmas and we have a couple of gigs this month so nothing has been pressing. We've also had a lot of guests staying over the festive perion but the last one left this morning. I'll try something as soon as I get time and let you know. Everything else about the Flow 8 is better than my old Alesis so I'm expecting it should be OK in that area but the proof is in the eating. We will see
  26. £150 without badass?
