  1. Past hour
  2. Yes it's a standard MM shape. If you have measurements from the neck heel of your Sire, I can let you know about fit.
  3. Almost 4 months in and I am still utterly besotted with this beauty. I genuinely think it’s the best bass I’ve ever owned and so perfect for me in every way. I am finding myself wanting to play more than I’ve done for a while, and I reckon it’s making me a better player. (So, still shit, but slightly less shit ) I’ve got 4 other wonderful custom basses and I always felt they all had their place in my various projects but there’s part of me which feels this can cover everything except the pop/punk band, and that’s only because the band leader is a prude and only wants a Fender or Fender copy…
  4. The One And Only - Chesney Hawkes
  5. To paraphrase Sir Bob: You gaze into the doorway Of temptation's angry flame And every time you pass that way You'll always hear your name... (and I could be in Manchester some time soon...)
  6. eBay, I think. I measured the distance between the strap button and the top of the bass, then from that edge to the bridge. I think it was for a guitar, but it works perfectly...
  7. I think you are right. I’m such a silly goose…….i have changed the advert.
  8. the really unhelpful answer is : Free The Tone Bass Blaster but yeah it's the shit
  9. 100% original when half the parts have been changed!
  10. Oasis. What a pair of unspeakable twàts.
  11. My old February 1998 Klystron never distorts but can get a little o/d relative to input level and “valve drive”
  12. Aside them being cheap (which is a big pro!), is there a reason you went for them over EBS flats (which are even flatter, and very awesome)? Cool board by the way. The ideas of it being powerbank powered on stage scares me. I don’t trust batteries at the best of times, but I can imagine in certain situations it can pose as a benefit.
  13. And to think people say we're a bunch of misanthropic old sods... Warwicks People who noodle really loudly at rehearsal WHEN WE'RE TRYING TO TALK ABOUT THE SONG WE'RE ABOUT TO PLAY People who tune up by ear on stage
  14. Singing drummers. Men who don't wear a belt. The word "plane" when substituted for "aircraft" or "aeroplane". Jazz.
  15. Probably no worse in terms of build than an old Washburn Status. The electronics are going to suck though - they always do. These Chinese instruments tend to be quite nicely built in terms of woodworking, but they always have bloody awful pickups and electronics. But at least the pickups tend to be standard size so they're easy to replace.

    Neural Quad Cortex

Oh its beautiful, love it! Now to rebuild my current live patches around it, I have 2 weeks til my next show, wish me luck! 😅
  17. @Kiwi What's the headstock shape, standard MM style? Also curious as to whether the neck length, size of the heel, etc would be compatible with a Sire Z3...
  18. @itu AliExpress. I've used seven of them so far and they are all of good consistent quality, zero noise. This is my order, to give you an idea of what to search for and anticipated pricing. These were shipped to me in the UK in about a week.
  19. That looks good enough to eat, never mind to play.
  20. Bass players. Someone had to say it.
  21. Today
  22. If I take a pic with the tortie plate on and knock £50 off for 'Mods' rates, could you find the spare?
