  1. Past hour
  2. Friends/colleagues in my experience are a waste of time, mostly broken promises and shaky maybes. I've pretty much stopped bothering, because I take the let down to heart probably more than I should.
  3. Sorry to hear about your health mate , hope you’re going to be ok. Do you still have the tort guard?
  4. I would describe the tone of Jaydees as having more mid character vs Status Graphite's hifi crystal clarity. That Mr Pink video above demonstrates it perfectly. TBH, I've always preferred MK's Jaydee sounds, and I'm not sure Status basses have as unique a tonal signature as Jaydees.
  5. I’ve learned to just laugh along and keep posting anyway. Friends mean well, even with odd comments, and the steady support usually shows up once the music starts.
  6. Ever considered a GB Guitars bass by Bernie Goodfellow? Just throwing an idea into the pot....
  7. Hey Kiwi thanks for the info I piped your Nut/24th fret number into my CAD/CAM and given a typical 5mm hangover @ nut/24th it spits out 16.69mm bridge spacing for the 34" scale length, So id say folk are safe with anything from 16.5 - 17mm Cheers Gizmo
  8. have a mk2 Octabvre for sell instead of trade...if that's worth that much now .
  9. That would look great with my BTB846v. If it hasn't, you should get it.
  10. Thomastic rounds received, love em, thanks for the fast postage and smooth transaction. Cheers Handman
  11. So when do you think Boss are gonna replace the GT-1000 or core it's almost 10 years old (well in two years time). Are we gonna get a GX-1000 in 2028, and if so what's the wish lists for this. With the budget multi/modelling market now pretty flooded and new releases from fender, line 6, neural, fractal and Kemper raising expectations of modellers. What does Boss need to do to stake a place in the flagship market.
  12. That really is lovely Nibody, sorry to hear about your health issues and all the best with your sale
  13. I'd be very interested to hear the spec, but I'm a fussy fella when it comes to basses. I expect you are the same. Is your bas the big-bodied Series 1? If so you'll be able to sell it for over-the-odds to a Mark King aficionado who doesn't want to wait. If I was you I'd use the opportunity to get full compensation for being pissed about. I want a GA24 with Saturn inlays ect, but not LED's, probably in a burst finish.
  14. Appreciated! Interested to hear your impressions of how they sound together too.
  15. Right now I don't think AI is taking anything away from truly skilled songwriters. All the AI generated songs I have heard so far are very formulaic which is why it can do a fairly decent job in some genres. However all the really interesting and successful songs are those that manage to do something different enough to stand out whilst still fitting into a particular genre. AI can't make that leap right now because all it is doing is regurgitating in a slightly different way what has already been done. Also I doubt whether the sorts of people who would be happy with AI generated songs are the sorts of people who go and see the kinds of bands we play in.
  16. I think AI needs to be regulated for the benefit of everyone. If it replaces all the skilled workers then thats millions of people losing their jobs, countries losing vast amounts of disposable income within the population and ultimately, no one has the money to buy whatever it is that AI is manufacturing.
  17. It's no more replacing a skill than using on-line tabs or a YouTube play-along to save you having to work out the baseline of a song by listening to it.
  18. Hey Midsee - when my Jaydee is completed, it'll be up for sale! Hahaha
  19. £50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Chrome hardware and a vintage sunburst finish. Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and a basswood body. A retro instrument with a modern twist." Maple Top Mahogany Body Mahogany Neck Lignum Rosa Fingerboard Entwistle MBH Bridge Pickup Entwistle MBN Neck Pickup Jumbo Frets 42mm Nut Width 30" Scale Length Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  20. I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁
  21. Something I was putting together as a backup but ended up with something else…… Slab Precision 66 type body. The paint is thin and not the best finish but not embarrassing. I didn’t paint it, it was like that when I bought it from here. It’s fine when it’s dressed up though. The neck pocket is bit oversized but when I fitted the neck (that I bought from here separately) , the holes lined up perfectly. I presume they are drilled for a standard Fender neck fitting. The neck is quite nice. It has Fender decals but it’s not a Fender. The decals have also been lacquered over. It has black Schaller tuners and a Geddy Lee neck plate. I think someone was building a Geddy at some point. The pups are Fender. They came out of a Mex Deluxe I believe. i was going to change the harness as it sometimes makes a crackle noise, not all the time, just now and again. Never got round to it as it’s so infrequent. Plays well enough and the neck is quite skinny. I haven’t weighed it but I would say it’s between 8-8 1/2 pounds. It could be a lot nicer with a bit of tlc but I’m not going to use it now and thought I may as well pass it on to someone. Collection and trial much preferred but I will post if the buyer arranges their own courier. I’ll throw in an old Gator case to ship it in. It’s seen better days so don’t think you are getting a posh new one 🤣 It’s a freebie!

  22. One of the newer Classic Vibes. Upgraded pups/loom, bridge and black plate. Not weighed it but I’d say it’s less than 9lb. I can leave the straplocks on or put the original pins back on. I do not have any of the other original parts. In pretty good condition, I’ve tried to photograph any damage I can see. The back of the neck is lightly sanded, which improves it in my opinion. It’s a really nice bass in one of my favourite colour schemes but something has cropped up that I’ve got my eye on. Collection from Blackburn Lancs is preferable but buyer can arrange a courier at their expense and I’ll add a beat up Gator case that is functional for shipping and gigging but has some issues.

  23. Today
  24. I was just spinning down the thread and thought similar, though I have a P and MM pup to use that I need a body for. Then again I started off thinking all black ‘stealth’ mode
  25. Price is ONO. I bought this way back close to covid days in summer 2021 from @hiram.k.hackenbacker on this very site. The bass can be found on "Classic and Cool"'s gallery of limelights - its number 0236. From what I recall it is a one-piece selected body, bass is slightly reliced, jazz profile neck and all the usual limelight stuff - clay dots, nitro lacquer, reliced parts etc. I changed the tort pickguard for a black one and fitted aged schaller straplocks. The bridge saddles were a little over reliced, and were replaced by the previous owner. The case it came in has been replaced with a Fender Hard case, and will also come with a Fender soft case My health issues are now so bad I cant justify keeping it any longer. Ideally due to my mobility issues and having used all my suitable packing boxes selling off other instruments, I'd prefer collection from Tamworth, Staffs
  26. You miss the point? The invention of the production line took away skilled work from mechanics who were able to able to put a whole engine together from scratch. AI already has the ability to take work away from skilled song writers, which I wouldn't regard as a mundane task, or have we all been wasting our time discussing that very issue on this thread?😅
  27. Just been doing a bit of prep before I install my new machine heads, and of course the screw holes didn't line up, not a problem with this gear..... Great Wood filler.....does exactly what it says on the tube.
