  2. Congrats! This was my old bass judging by the serial number. I had it and a 2023 Raspberry burst at the same time. Great basses!
  3. Fits a 2EQ or 3EQ Stingray with truss rod wheel, so approx 1990-2018. Made by the people in California that produced the original EBMM matte black pickguards back in the 90s / 00’s, this is one I custom ordered a few years ago. But my bass is now HH so I have a similar replacement. It’s got some scratches, as pictured, but you don’t want a shiny new pickguard on your 30 year old instrument right? 😊 £40 posted
  4. I do really like what this does but unemployment isn’t compatible with having 5 preamp pedals so something’s got to go. This does a nice console breakup and the Pultech EQ thing via two toggle switches. Really high quality headphone amp too. Has a high pass filter too, which isn’t seen so often. In outstanding condition with original box. (More pictures to follow.)

  5. Colin Hay at Union Chapel London, not been there before. Not as MAW but his acoustic show....can't wait.
  6. Since the move to https, I have to either sign in if I have been "inactive" for more than a certain period*, or refresh (f5) frequently to keep me logged in. *The period seems to vary depending on the time of day. In the mornings I have to refresh more often if I am not seen by the site to be active. This includes answering posts. It's frustrating to write a detailed reply to a post and find that I am logged out by the time I hit the Submit Reply button. I have learned to copy my reply to the clipboard in case my work disappears. it's okay most times because the site remembers my draft when logged back in (as long as I haven't left the thread to which I am replying). On the odd occasion that it doesn't I have to start again from scratch unless I have my work copied to the clipboard.

  8. My 4 string Overwater bass, D-string makes a metallic resonate sound when D# note or open D-string is played finger style at pickup closest to the bridge. Checked bridge saddle of d-string ( bridge is not the most user friendly) Used different strings. But cannot locate the cause. All other strings are fine and do not have any issues🤷 No loose screws. intonation is fine. Any suggestions? Thx Jack
  9. Yeah. I asked for a pic with a note with today’s date on and it came straight away. I will film the opening in case it’s an empty box scam. Will keep you posted!
  10. I've played with James a few times at open mike jams. He's incredible to be fair. I've seen older and well seasoned musicians shaking their heads and laughing as to what he's pulling off as they play together. Yes showboaty, but in a really lovely way. He's a nice fella for sure. Not an ego tripper. He asked for my number once as a backup option. Thinking that the now employer of NWR wanted my number for potential bass duties makes me grin. A story for the kids ☺️.
  11. No, there haven't been any updates to the site in the last month or so, and I haven't had to log in any more than usual. Sounds like your browser has updated though or you have some software that is blocking cookies or something.
  12. Today
  13. Yes. Long story. I should do a show and tell thread of my own actually. Might be helpful to others as I've made a few mods and I don't want to get into derailing someone else's thread! Cheers
  14. Good condition, home use only, with unused strap.
  15. Thanks for the balance Micky, he might do better if you did his copy 👍
  16. This does seem to be the root cause of so many of these problems, doesn't it? As useful as I find YouTube for finding interesting music, I'm very aware that its programmers' main aim is to keep me on the site as long as possible. So many problems around dangerous conspiracy theories, misogyny, racism, and all the other -isms and -phobias seem to be accelerated by the way it keeps feeding its users more videos without any serious checks on the information they contain. I can very easily see how you could start by watching a balanced, well-argued video about downsides to immigration, and be only a few clicks away from a massive rabbit hole that leads you to believe there's a satanic child abuse cabal meeting in the basement of a New York pizza restaurant, and you absolutely must march in there with your gun, demanding answers. Point being: there's an awful lot of responsibility that could be arguably dropped at the feet of the companies who own and maintain these platforms. Of course they scream "censorship" whenever anyone suggests they should do more to regulate their content - it would cost them money! But like gambling or tobacco before them, there's surely got to come a point where they meet a serious reckoning regarding the number of lives their laissez-faire approach has derailed - or even cut short.
  17. I am a very regular user of Basschat and have always left the tab open so that I can quickly access the site. In the last couple of weeks I have been asked to sign in again on every visit. A bit of a hassle only. More irritating is the e mail following the sign in saying "you have just logged in from a device we haven't seen you use before". I have been using the same phone and pad for the last three years! Any clues? Cheers, Graham
  18. It's worth mentioning that the nature of social media algorithms and confirmation bias that nowadays everyone believes their views are the correct ones (yes, even yours! 😲) Platforms are designed this way to maintain your attention to drive clicks/engagement/ad revenue. Everything must be boiled down to a binary choice (hence not partaking in discussion lumps you in with whatever side)

  21. James is a darling! Not everyones cuppa but he has certainly worked for his success. And, I admit, proved me wrong. His relationship with NWR is touching, respectful and an extra facet of the act. My final sales pitch is that James has delivered every time I have seen him. Which sadly couldn’t be said of Norm’s previous employer…
  22. Actually it’s already spread to one of the screw holes, but I got some copper tape anyway so I’ll pop some on anyway doesn’t hurt.
