Piano is a full range solo instrument capable of being the only accompaniment required. My dad has been playing piano for 75 years. When he calls me for backup, he says, its great to have a good bass player who understands chord structure, I can't be doing that driving left hand stuff all night. 🤣

Yes. It's really 'noisy'. They're all 'youngsters' and clearly having fun. I'd say when you have big powerful PA behind you, you can afford not to smash your instruments hard and reign in the passion a little bit. It may be that the arrangements aren't that far off, its the loudness wars and exuberance that may be pushing the envelope. The drummer is also hitting lots of open cymbals. There's a balance between musicality and full out punk. Love the violin, but that also needs to be arranged around so everything else doesn't crowd it out. Make it a feature, everyone else doesnt need to be louder than the violin. Hopefully this is positive criticism. Its about having a mature outlook to what is the feature instrument, or vocal, at any point, and what are backing instruments.

I have one of these Valeton GP-5 pedals and for ease of use and the small size vs the price it’s one of the best pieces of kit I’ve tried in some time. Use your phone app to tweak it, don’t need to PC up for it. GLWTS- 1 reply

Cracking bit of classic Trace Elliot gear, dual band compressor pedal, very flexible, sounds great. Can run off a pair of 9v batteries or the (included) 18v power supply. In excellent condition and perfect working order. I read on basschat that the version 3 PCB is preferred over the 2. As can be seen in the photos this is a V3. Boxed with original operating instructions. Collection always welcome, or insured UK postage for this will be £11.50 -
Selling this Micro Fuzz from Kong. Comes with a blend Knob so no lowend loss. 2 types of fuzz, “bass” side is more of a vintage germanium type, the “treble” side is a trebly fuzz. In as new condition, never mounted on a pedalboard nor gigged. £30 posted within mainland UK.-

Its quite a good venue but it does have a few issues with sound. Difficulties with drums on a drum riser and a hollow wooden stage was causing a lot of very low droning sounds. SE added a gate of some sort to help but it wasn't there during sound check. You seem to get a lot of rebound noise which made it sound as if we had a lot of reverb on things but there was very little being used. It could do with a bit of a tidy up around the stage area and the changing room but its not the worst we've played by any means. To be fair to them they are trying to upgrade a very old building that i'm guessing was an old theatre come picture house come bingo hall and now being changed over to a proper venue. The team working in it last night were pretty good tho and very helpful. Give it a couple of years and it should be a decent gigging venue for touring bands. Dave
