  2. Good luck with sale - I just got one of these and if you perform with no amps and IEMs the XLR output sounds amazing. Worth every penny.
  3. A week ago now but I played my first overseas gig in Germany at a small doom festival in Leonberg, with Gévaudan. Really really cool vibe, promoters really looked after all the bands and the crowd were ace both whilst on stage and hanging out during the before and after. we played pretty well and the sound was clear and mainly on point on stage. Good times and lots learned. Felt like a very different approach to love music on the continent.
  4. They are a standard diy item for wall painting.
  5. On TalkBass, some say that the Fifteen sounds very close to the DCX. Interesting.
  6. Bass clone is maybe less versatile than the others. I’m no expert but the first two would both be good; the TC electronic one is pretty decent as well and has loads of options which could be useful for that genre.
  7. It is! I can’t believe it hasn’t been snapped up… maybe it’s the most wonderful time of the year… 🎄
  8. This video compares the OC-10 with octave pedals that costs 3-4 times as much as puts it very much in the same ball park…
  9. I want to buy my daughter a chorus pedal for Christmas and not sure what to go for, its not an effect id use. She plays in a shoegaze band so lots of fuzz on the guitars to cut through so i think she'll need a chorus that keeps plenty of bottom end. Obvious choices seem to be Boss CEB-3 or MXR Deluxe Chorus or maybe Electroharmonix Bass Clone. Are any of those particularly good or any other suggestions?
  10. Your rig is definitely the dogs' ! If only I could afford it (or, sadly, justify it). GLWTS.
  11. Great....getting down to it now! TBH....I'm doing a bit of a clearout...and have several peakers that came from Organ cabinets....as in Hammond PR40s. This came from a home-made Organ concoction, and I was trying to discover if it had a potential use/value. Not playing bass currently, and can see from the spec .pdf that this isn't going to be suitable for guitar use....unfortunately
  12. I have several of the rollers spare and would be happy to post a couple to any cab constructor. You’d need your own handle but I think that’s a standard size.
  13. Frequent string changes are common for metal bassists, especially ones who have to cut through a wall of heavily overdriven guitar noise and double bass drums.
  14. Just thought of a few more songs defined by their basslines: My Sharona Let's Dance Gimme Some Loving We Gotta Get Out Of This Place I think most ordinary folk who know those songs would recognise them from the bass alone.
  15. No probs Tony, thanks again for the inspiration, I'll update as things develop 👍
  16. Definitely, my thoughts exactly. That old JBL will sound amazing with the mk1 400rb also, great low mids I bet.
  17. I think that is right. What are you intending using the speaker it for? The Fane's of that era were pretty unreliable and would end up making magic smoke if run at the full power rating. If I remember clearly they changed the voice coils to something fireproof not long after this generation of drivers but I think these had 'treated' paper coil formers. If you are going to use it I'd suggest limiting the power to less than 50W. The only reason to use it is if you are doing an authentic restoration of a historic cab but treat the old lady with respect. She was born in the 1970's/80's. Somewhere I have Fane's book of cab designs which used the Fane Classics and the then newly introduced Crescendo range. thre's some huge cabs trying to squeeze every last bit out of the low powered speakers of the day.
  18. Chris, it was ... 30 years ago when I had my own repair shop, so no photos, hélas... Sorry.

    BC 8" cab

Blue Aran hasn't had any black Tuffcab for months. Your best bet is to get a litre tin of Armacab from Penn Elcom. It's very similar to Tuffcab but thicker in consistency and with a higher pigment content. It'll cost £27 delivered. To get a decent finish, you'll need the foam rollers from Blue Aran. Unfortunately, they're out of stock of those as well but they're due in mid-December according to the website. In current weather conditions, it'll take some time to dry. So, leave each coat to dry overnight - and don't allow the paint to freeze, as it will then be useless.
  20. Yes, the SV has more deep bass than the Fifteen, but that’s to be expected. The high switch on the SV allows for more clickiness of finger/pick attack of the string to come through, even with the treble knob rolled off. Obviously having the mid control on the SV gives you options that aren’t available on the Fifteen. Mine are hooked up in series but I’m not running one into the cab sim of the other, if that’s what you mean.
  21. A great Christmas present…..to yourself! In good condition. Price includes InPost locker postage.

  22. Medium gauge - long scale. Apologies for any confusion. I have amended the title accordingly.
  23. So if I’m understanding properly - your thoughts at the moment are that the SV has more fullness etc. in the bottom end and also more range at the top? Are you running one into t’other?
