Had one in Olympic white, but sold it for something else. Was close to buying the same one back, but some boring real life stuff robbed me of my fun budget. Will get one again soon!

Fancied a short scale so picked up this Mustang CV today, new pick guard turned up for one of my Teles too
  4. The Funky Bass Book (Bass Player Presents) edited by Bill Leigh ISBN: 978-0879309947 2010 New and unread paperback compilation of interviews and features on funk bassist featured in Bass Player magazine: £10 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback:
  5. Nice Jazz Bass. Judging by the serial number it's from 2014.
  6. For sale are a set of Fender PJ pickups with mounting screws in very good condition taken from my Japanese Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass. We have a Fender Standard Split Single Coil Precision Bass set along with a Fender Standard Single Coil Jazz Bass Bridge Pickup. These are good sounding, quality pickups, I only changed them because I have a clear idea of what sound I want for this configuration based on having used DiMarzio Model Ps in the past. The set is going for £75 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback thread:
  7. G & L are the Saab of the guitar industry. Maverick to a certain extent, quirky, historically significant a bit...I love 'em (i own a m2000 and a SB-2). The MFD pcikups alone should have hailed as a classic design Yet, always the stealth brand, with no big name endorsees, always a bit to far off the general path of things. And we'll miss them when they are gone, or bought. Aparently the tariffs have something to overload their costs...conjecture maybe, who can tell these days. Those who knew...knew i guess, just not enough of us. I also owned a Saab..lol
  8. Sure he’ll fettle it, he’s my go to for all things bass fettling.
  9. Some bands even if they're good will not and will never attract big crowds. Most of the Milwaukee bands that draw large local crowds consistently are established cover/ show bands represented by one of two large booking agencies. These are well organized special event type gigs where these bands are guaranteed big crowds. Daryl
  10. Hi, I am interested but I’m up in Newcastle. What’s the best price so I can factor in shipping costs.
  11. No other devices - this is the first bit of midi kit I've used for probably over 20 years. I don't actually recall making or altering any settings at all save possibly selecting the device itself within the editor. I think chances of operator error are high. But I don't mind spending £25-odd on a name brand interface just to rule out one set of possibilities.
  12. Evening all. I'm posting this question as I am genuinely interested in your experience of booking gigs and how you feel the current climate is. I am essentially a weekend warrior, so I'm not talking about you cats who have the cream gigs. I play in a few bands, locally in the Midlands and have noticed a huge change in venues' attitude towards booking live bands. It used to be that we could go out as a 4/ 5-piece or more, depending on the style of music and get plenty of gigs and maybe £100 a head. Over the last few years, I have experienced more and more venues that are booking solo artists with backing tracks for a sub £200 fee, above a full band. We played a festival in the summer, and all the acts before us were solo with backing tracks. I get why the promoter does it, as it's cheaper for the venue/festival. I felt it looked awful as an audience member. A lone individual with a music stand and an iPad on a stage the size of an articulated lorry. I just worry about the live band experience and what will happen to it. I'm not against backing tracks; they have their place. It just feels a bit poo
  13. MXR M85 bass distortion. Great distortion pedal in good condition. Velcro on the bottom. £90 delivered. Any questions just ask 👍
  14. Great condition for year, these guitars are well regarded and were the line before the Classic Vibe range. Cheeky Fender logo added by previous owner, maple body which looks stunning! It's a two piece I believe and doesn't have the usual odd matched stripes. Very low action, straight neck with no real wear on the frets. Pearloid block inlays with binding on the neck. I have fitted a Fender hi mass bridge and Fender neckplate. Looks a lot nicer in the flesh and feels ,sounds and plays like a higher end Fender bass. Some marks on the body where the bridge cover was fitted...I will chuck that in...small mark on back of neck,on the laquer, but not a bash. I get a lot of attention when using this guitar and will miss it but need funds for an upgrade to my amp and cab. I think that's all...any questions just ask. Now I have just had an issue with DHL so I would prefer a local uplift but can pack securely for a courier uplift if you want to sort something out. Please use Parcelforce 24 or the likes I will not use EVRI or DHL.
  15. £50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  16. I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁
  17. Thanks for the 'heads up', but Failure on all counts. Download needs a 'sign in', which requires filling in a daft tiny questionnaire. Once that's done, a Connect 'downloader' has to be downloaded and installed. This does an un-announced PC reboot (luckily I don't have several tasks ongoing, but they don't know that...). The 'Connect' software brings in iLok, again unannounced, which wants to tie in with UA. OK, why not; this is becoming ridiculous. I finally get to the plug-in Download page, which doesn't download the plug-in, it installs it. Where..? Default is to the 'C' drive (where nothing is installed; I 'change' to my 'J' drive, where all my Vst's are, but this applied change does nothing, it still says 'C' drive). All this for an amp sim (I have real Fender amps, but... Whatever...). I think I'm going to have to forgo this one, and spend half the evening ripping out the stuff that has been installed, everything but the Vst amp asked for. Oh well, it was a Good Idea, but... :-(
  18. I totally understand. It was a whole new experience to me at first.
  19. It sounds like the originals band had someone with connections and motivated to book gigs. There are plenty of band better than my band. However, some hardly ever gig because while they're great musically nobody in those bands had booking skills. Daryl
  20. The other ones are decent to great, so this is a great deal. They just did a free LA2A compressor the other week as well. I think UAD are getting ready to launch Luna 2.0 (their self created updated DAW) soon so probably trying to get as much engagement as possible.
  21. If you enjoy it and you can play on it okay then that's all that matters. I really like the sound and appearance of Thumb Basses but I can't play very well on them so I've never bought one.
  22. Sometimes. However I've seen young top notch cover bands playing at poorly attended events. Daryl
