  1. Past hour
  2. Very graphic result. I dig it.
  3. Sweden is ,however, a society which tolerates one of the highest levels of taxation in the world. Myself, I would be happy to live in such a country. Convincing the wider British public to submit to such a system would be pretty much an impossibility. The whole of the developed world is moving away from that kind of a social model. Public spending is something to be restricted and cut back, not expanded to include people who think they have a right and a need to express themselves. The Swedish system has its roots in progressive liberal ideas that flourished in the 1960's and 1970's. The reality is that in countries like Britain and the USA we are heading back to the 1920's where ordinary working people were kept in a state of anxious uncertainty as a way of keeping them more useful, more profitable and less troublesome to their employers. More work, less pay, less rights.
  4. Taken from a 2011 Mex Std Precision - I prefer rosewood.. In good condition - a couple of small dings to the headstock lower edge but you have to feel for them. 1-3-5 frets slightly grooved but plenty of miles left. Nut was filed for low B (135) but 105 still sits just fine - I never bothered refilling it when I swapped back. Heel dated June 2011. Fender serial lookup says... Fingerboard Maple Fingerboard Radius 9.5" (241 mm) Fret Size Medium Jumbo Neck Shape Modern "C" Number of Frets 20 Nut Material Synthetic Bone Nut Width 1.625" (41.3 mm) Position Inlays Black Dot
  5. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/250408439415025--dingwall-sp1-5-string-gloss-vintageburst They are showing as having stock and you can place a small deposit and they can get it to the Edinburgh store for you.
  6. Thunderstuck - AC/DC
  7. Maybe take away the loopholes that enable billionaires to hoard their wealth whilst paying ignorant flagsh@ggers to spread the idea that immigrants are to blame for all of the problems they themselves have caused, but don't want to help solve.
  8. I'd vote for that!
  9. Bass In Ya Face - Jamaaladeen Tacuma
  10. Truly magnificent and rare in this finish!
  11. They should do a Peter Frampton / Richie Sambora version that lets you do talkbox effects.
  12. Just make it compulsory for everyone in the country to go and see a band at least once a week.
  13. How? How can the history of the genre not include these?
  14. I am selling this well-known power amplifier, 500 (really big) watts. 8-4-2 ohms. In very good cosmetic condition and works perfectly. What’s special about is the implementation of an output transformer which would not have been needed in a conventional solid state amp. Top quality. Shipped carefully packaged (and can declare at a lower value)
  15. There is a lot more information here. Essentially it's not a Universal Basic Income scheme. https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-culture-communications-and-sport/campaigns/basic-income-for-the-arts-pilot-scheme/ https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-culture-communications-and-sport/publications/basic-income-for-the-arts-pilot-scheme-your-questions-answered/
  16. Bass Strings — Country Joe & The Fish
  17. Does anyone in or around Edinburgh have one of these yet, now that my Sandberg is finally sold I can start to think a bit about a new one. I definitely don't like the longer scale Dingwalls, but I think the 35"-32" (ish) 5 string sounds ideal for me, but I would like to try one first. Happy to provide coffee and cake if anyone would let me noodle on one for a few minutes.
  18. So thats this measurement on the right hand side, I would have thought so as well, but always good to check
  19. That's correct. Looks like its all going well When the glue thickens I put the container in a bowl of hot water or just stand it on a radiator and the glue softens and flows more easily. I did that in the video. I've got all sorts of woodworking gear including a table saw circular saws, jigsaw etc but last year I bought a plunge saw with an aluminium track. It's a revelation for cutting panels, so much easier than manuvering an 8'x4' sheet of ply through the table saw even with the sliding table on the saw. It's a great tool for cutting speaker panels. It's what I used for the prototype 8.
  20. I've finally accepted that the fine people at Fender are never going to call and offer me a signature model, so I've taken matters into my own hands: I've gone for a "what if Jim Root played bass?" kind of vibe. Allparts body EMG JX pickups LHZ preamp (just a fun experiment as they usually go in Spectors with PJ pickups. Sounds pretty good though. Way more natural and "woody" than I was expecting. The bass and treble controls are on the stacked pot in between the two volumes. It's in that position because I accidentally enlarged the wrong hole, but I quite like how it looks and have convinced myself that it's a logical place for it! Hipshot Kickass bridge and ultralite tuners. The neck is a Fender Player 2 neck. Lovely rolled edges, but came with lacquer all over the frets. I've done a level crown and polish, so it's all gone now. Tuned to BEAD. Discovering tapered B strings has been a revelation to me. It sounds and feels great, even at the standard 34 inch scale length. It's bothering me a bit that the pickup screws, jack nut and saddle strings are not black - might have to sort that out in due course!
  21. All perfectly reasonable
  22. I am selling this preamp in very good condition. Excellent preamp that is hard to find. Jensen DI 2x 12AX7 (JJ) in preamp Carefully shipped (And can declare it a lower value)
  23. My understanding is it would be 87mm total lenght of the tube so from the front of the flange.
  24. I've just noticed that the tuners and serial number decal on these is remarkably similar to my Sire V6. Does anyone know if they are made by the same manufacturer in Indonesia?
