  2. I can't speak to their reliability, but I played around with a V3 at the Yamaha/Line6/Ampeg flagship store in Soho a year or so back and really liked the sound. The EQ was very effective and the overdrive sounds were nice and valve-y (more like an EHX Bass Soul Food than an ODB-3).
  3. ....by which I mean that 6-months in a rehearsal room perhaps equates to about 2-years of normal high-volume use for an amp owned by the average gigging bassist (more in my case I'd imagine)?
  4. I'd say that 15 units over 6-months use in a rehearsal studio without problem (if I understand correctly) is a pretty decent indicator of reliability given that previous reports re recent Ampeg units suggested they could go very quickly?
  5. @reggieboomboom v. interested, sent you a PM 🙂

I'm not a ampeg player, previously preferring SWR and now Aguilar db750, but I tested a few rehearsals with the v7 and I have to admit in band context it does all the classic tones (svt/B4/b15) well. Plenty of power for a full thrash metal band. The integrated comp, tube circuit switch, grit and Tone controls make it a very versatile machine. Build quality has yet to be established but six months in they're still pleased with their decision.
  7. These are great ! If I didn’t recently purchase the Akai tomcat, I’d have had this . Glwts !
  8. Isn’t the Two Notes Revolt Bass based on a Marshall?

  13. Brightest pressurewounds I have used are SIT Silencers. Brightest flats I have used are Chromes. Maybe worth trying one of those?
  14. It would suit a community studio or school perhaps? Absolutely nothing wrong with it, lovely Eden warmth with plenty of air shifting through those 10’s. I guess these days, PA and in ear technology has improved as has the introduction of class D and Neo in bass backline, saving back breaking weight.
  15. I was gonna ask if this was good for metal 🤦😺.Nice ..Glwts !

  19. Yeah, this is what I think. The side jack isn't too egregious, plenty of Rays have side jacks so just get the controls sorted.

  22. i've always had a fondness for the Marshall Super Bass or whatever Bruce Foxton used in the late 70s/early 80s.
  23. You think about these things too much my friend. I'd forgotten this thread existed and I was too busy mocking someone for having a tort guard on a burst.
