  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks for that, I may invest....
  3. Sadowsky's Quick Release designed bridge is a good option to help with this issue and generally quicker string changes. There isn't any need to thread an entire string through and the ball-end clicks into place securely until the string is tensioned. Not sure how available they are to buy as a part, I think they may have had a version on Thomann for around £50-£60 recently.
  4. If @Stub Mandrel comes, then we can legitimately change the title to the "The NW, Scotland and South Wales Bass Bash and Petting Zoo 2026". We're very inclusive here. So far (I think) we have attending. Attendees @rwillett - A couple of 3d printed basses or guitars, this will encourage me to finish my next two off. A couple of 8" Basschat cabinets. Might be interesting to try these with other peoples amps. One is quite loud, not quite finished the other one so not sure quite how loud they go. Since I'm about 100m away, I might bring anything or everything. Might even bring and setup a 3d printer if people are interested. If there is any interest and you need something thats more than a few hours to print, let me know well in advance. @neepheid @Frank Blank @Stub Mandrel - TBC @zbd1960 - TBC @ead - TBC @ossyrocks @lee650 - TBC @80Hz - TBC @peterjam - TBC Lots of TBC's so hopefully we can firm up on numbers. So as you confirm, please add any equipment you might be bringing and update this. I'm also going to add in a list of "would like to...." so people might be encouraged to bring things... Would like to @rwillett Love to play some older basses to see what they are really like preferably with some old school valve amp heads. Would also love to play around with some amp modellers (I already have a Mod Dwarf and a ToneX) to see how they sound in comparison.
  5. After a week, the order was cancelled, by either Amazon or the Doogee shop. Had a lot on my plate at the time so did not worry about it.
  6. Epitaph - King Crimson
  7. Do you think Behringer do a gravy, jus or reduction to go with it?
  8. Open to trades on equal quality 5 strings
  9. Someone on here gave a good tip on that - use a capo to hold the string in place.
  10. Maybe https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/236470537199 (or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/287042201258 for the compete tuner). Not actually brushed stainless but the finish matches quite well. This is what they look like on one of my basses.
  11. Sadly, the Meris Enzo X has had a lot of bad press about its poor tracking, and not on my shortlist on that basis. I personally wouldn't want to use any of them as a standalone multifx eg for clean preamp or drive. But for synth, and also for filter and modulation/pitch shift, for sure!
  12. I find with a slot loading bridge it's more difficult keeping the strings in the slots while getting up to a suitable tension that they will stay there by themselves. This is never more obvious when trying to replace a string under pressure like at a gig.
  13. The IKEA Meatball has a muddy, almost 'wet' sound and is most definitely not suitable for metal. It's most interesting feature is that you can plug the input and output jacks anywhere on the body of the unit. I should add that my example was quite poorly made (I suspect the materials have something to do with it) and the casing collapsed the first time I tried the stomp function.
  14. You quickly learn leverage with a fridge. The tolex on mine was trashed from sliding it in and out of vans and dragging it up and down stairs. Today I appreciate modern lightweight cabs. And a little tube preamp.
  15. Q\Strip in very good condition. Clean Velcro applied to underside. A very nice piece of kit, just surplus to requirements. Price includes UK postage.

  16. OK guys Dive in , a whole range of takes to this one
  17. Is that like an IKEA meatball in almost all respects, but a bit cheaper and looked down on by snobs and Swedish purists?
  18. What with festive celebrations, a new year and Burns night, what would make a great inspiration for the January Composition Challenge? After a tie between @Al Nico @Leonard Smalls and @Chiliwailer , I did a quick first past the post photo challenge, and the winner who decided the answer was... ...young Lenny who noted "Tis a Raasay cask strength..." So that's the inspiration, what did we make of that? well have a listen through and place your 2 votes in the appropriate boxes 1 @Leonard Smalls 'Tis a musing on whether it's best to be eternally just comfortable, or to venture frequently outside your comfort-zone. 2 @Al Nico After a few whiskeys, I like to dance. 3 Lurksalot Rock and roll, err maybe not! 4 @Baloney Balderdash A mystical glass of whiskey, with a quite oriental side effect : 5 @upside downer This fella has had more than enough of the ol' hooch. The shine has gone from his marvellous moonshine days and too many hangovers and trouser accidents mean that the firewater has got to go down the plughole. @MoonBassAIpha Reflections on a sad year, a roaring fire and a warming dram Well there's bagpipes in there , and they work very well! so lets say 2 votes each this month och aye great spread from riotous to reflective start the year off I reckon voting will end at midnight on 31st January
  19. Used to roadie for them 😂 Dave
  20. I slipped, fell and acc identally bought two Dingwalls. Oppsy daisy! So, this really should be purchased so I don’t end up divorced.
  21. Hi all, I'm moving into a smaller flat soon, so I'm selling a large chunk of my music equipment. For this reason, I'm letting go of the following Rockboard pedalboards and mods/accessories. For the two bigger pedalboards, pick-up from Durham would be preferred, but shipping can be arranged. Pictures will follow this afternoon. Rockboard Cinque 5.3 with MOD1 and MOD2 and softcase - Mint condition, bought new last year to combine all my pedals on a single board, but due to size restrictions in my new flat, I had to opt for two smaller pedalboards. It's in really good shape and has only been on my desk setup at home, hence it has never seen a stage or practise room. It only lacks a tiny bit of paint on the underside around some of the screws, and actually was shipped in this state when I received it new from Thomann. It comes with a nicely padded, unused Rockboard softcase, and has currently two Rockboard Mods (Mod1 v2 and Mod2 v2) installed. I'd like to sell it as a package deal so I can keep the two mods installed, but please feel free to reach out to me if you're interested in the board and softcase alone (without the mods). The board and softcase go around £215, and the Mods around £50-55 each, so the whole package would cost you around £315 new. I'm offering it for £240 all together (pedalboard, softcase, Mod1, Mod2) as a pick-up price from DURHAM (I can deliver it locally), or £260 shipped. Rockboard Cinque 5.2 with softcase - Great condition, I used this before upgrading to the 5.3. It's also in really good shape apart from one scratch mark on the back. When taking off a MOD unit, one screw got stuck and by removing it, I scratched the back a bit unfortunately. However, this scratch mark should largely be covered once a new MOD is in place. Other than that, it's in perfect condition. It also comes with a nicely padded Rockboard softcase. I'm selling it for £80 when picked-up from DURHAM, or £95 shipped. Rockboard Duo 2.0 with softcase - Great condition. I used it for a little headphone-based setup when travelling, so it has seen a couple of hotel rooms but it's still in really good shape. Also comes with a nicely padded Rockboard softcase. £30 when picked-up from Durham, or £35 shipped. Rockboard Frame 5 XL Cinque - Can be used on both Rockboard Cinque 5.2 or 5.3 and substitutes one of the frame struts underneath. As it has a large cut-out, you can attach larger items (such as big power supplies) underneath these pedalboards. Best to google and see what it looks like to decide if it might be useful for you, but it was actually very helpful for me to mount lots of equipment (power supplies, DI Box, and so on) underneath my pedalboards). Selling for £16 posted. Rockboard Mini Mod TRS - Nice little MOD unit that can be attached to every Rockboard pedalboard, given you a TRS in- or out jack. Happy to sell it with any of the pedalboards above for an additional £5. Rockboard Mod Brace - Stainless steel frame to give more stability to heavier Rockboard MOD units. Selling it for £12 posted. Any questions just send me a message. Photos to follow this afternoon!
  22. Any find any brushed tuners, do you have any in mind?
  23. Today
  24. Yes, I knew what you meant, I see the grooves, I do get what you, mean, but saddle drift has never been an issue on any of my Bass's, saying that only 2 out of 6 have BBOT bridges, so...... and One of them has a Babicz (new version) on.
  25. Another vote for Chromes SS on my Markbass Yellow Little! I was going to cut down a used set of Fender 9050s, but for a big gig, I splashed out, and it was good.
