  2. He certainly plays well. I believe he studied at The Royal Northern College of Music in the early 70's.
  3. Awesome publicity campaign! 🤣
  4. Ah ha! Sure looks like it - thanks for the info!
  5. Selling this 1977 Fender Precision bass in three tone sunburst. All original except the brass pickguard which comes from a a Japanese Fernandes from the same era (a bit later in 1980). Miraculously the pickguard holes align perfectly. The original pickguard comes with the bass too (last picture). Back to topic . Ash body, maple neck. Neck is perfectly straight with low action, trussrod turns both ways and frets are in good shape. The neck is a pleasure to play, chunkier than a C shape but fast and comfortable. It sounds honestly amazing with punch, thumb and definition. This is the real deal. With the brass pickguard, she weights at 4,350 kgs and with the original one, at 4,050kgs. Only the original pickguard had a mod, a hole was made between the two potentiometers, probably because phase switch was here at some point. Of course, the pickup and electronics are original. Shipping worldwide on a bulletproof package.
  6. Hot Line patch cables. Very good quality leads (I use Hot Wire instrument leads all the time). Handy as they have quite a short barrel. Normally about £25 for a pack of six. I have one extra so seven 12” (tip to tip) cables in total. Mostly unused. £15 including UK postage. My feedback
  7. Vibrator - Motorhead
  8. Yep anything that’s class D powered from Ampeg has been bad news However their SVT CL and V4B are still great amps even though they are huge and very heavy. I think Ampeg for the rest of the market must be seeing falling sales as they are a long way behind Ashdown, Peavey, MarkBass, Genzler, Eich, Orange, Laney, Aguilar, pretty much anyone who makes a decent bass amp
  9. Shiver - George Benson
  10. Good morning & thank you (it plays as good as it looks too)😀 i'll pop it on the scales when i get home
  11. Hmm. Hasn't visited since Wednesday and hasn't responded to any posts. May be all sorted. Would be good to know if we can stand down.
  12. Stunning looking bass!...do you know the weight?
  13. Bridge is a Hipshot Kickass i do believe.
  14. That needed a dedicated Jeff cam!
  15. Would these have a trussrod?....headstock or heel adjustment?...Would these be built as per, Status?.....ps. love the idea of the 38mm nut. Thanks
  16. Hi, I'd like some more detail on the offering here - I have a USA Stingray from 2010, so my nut width should be the standard 41.3mm (I'll check on that before I order anything). I'm not sure on the rest of the details though (apologies if these have already been covered elsewhere, and also if I'm asking stupid questions)...: Do these necks come ready for me to fit, or is there some work involved? I'm assuming they come with a fitted fingerboard and frets etc? Does it come with a nut? If so, what nut? (I like the compensated nut). Does the neck come with the tuner holes pre-drilled? And how about the screw holes for fixing the tuners? My neck attachment is the six-bolt arrangement - are those also pre-drilled? What shape & tuner layout is the headstock? Any chance of getting Luminlay dots rather than standard dots? The material itself doesn't cost a huge amount, and the labour would be the same I'd guess? Thanks!
  17. Ciao, are you interested to a trade with an Italian handmade Laurus 5 string NT? https://reverb.com/it/item/86384684-laurus-t800-nt-5-string Kind regards. Giovanni Instagram: @giovanni.bellosi
  18. Rattlesnake Shake - Fleetwood Mac

  20. The Rebbels are playing a pub Festival at the Swan in Stalbridge, near Sturminster Newton, Dorset. We played the pub last year and were invited back for the Festival. We were expecting a full FoH and sound tech but it appears there are two bands on two stages and we need to use our own PA. We are not even on the poster ! https://www.facebook.com/share/1AHNsDR6zk/?mibextid=wwXIfr I will post pics an reports on the “last night” thread.
  21. Nothing like a necro bump thread: First Bass Owned: Aria Pro with a musicman humbucker (prior to this I borrowed/played a load of crappy basses from my school/friends etc.) 'Go To' Bass: Warwick Streamer 5 (mainly as it's my latest acquisition) 'Your' Bass: Musicman Stingray 3EQ - certainly the one I feel most comfortable playing and have my rig dialled in.
  22. IMG_4414.HEICBought new from Bass Direct 10 months ago. Beautiful playing bass and comes with gig bag. Hardcore reliced instrument but no dings since purchase. Neck is smooth (see pics). Bought for theatre tour that has now ended. Spent time in hard case in the car or stand on stage - well looked after. Looking for sale, not trade. £1900 based in Wolverhampton, West Mids. Will drive reasonable distance to meet or I have materials to double-pack item well if you'd like to arrange courier. 23. As new in all original Packaging. Excellent piece of kit. £180 posted
  24. more expensive but I've had great results with the Origin Effects bass Rig pedals. Even tho I'm an SVT man at heart I actually prefer the sound of the Black Face 64 one. Awesome pedal
  25. Ampeg were a great company but time. and tech moves on. I never got the Ampeg Bug although I loved Trace Gear. I think Peavey have honoured the Trace legacy despite my initial fears. Like Trace, Ampeg have limped from owner to owner with none really taking tha brand seriously. Portaflex was a disaster, it took almost ten PF500 iterations before the amps were right, meaning you cannot trust them. I don’t think Trace ever had such a problem but the name of Ampeg went from top dog to has been rapidly and are now a brand rather than a make.
  26. I'm really toying with the idea of getting another valve amp. Stage volume wise we are quite a sensible band and rely a lot on the PA to give the FOH volume. I genuinely think i could probably get away with an Ashdown CTM30/Little Bastard but recently I've looked into an old Bassman 135 as I see you can run 1 x 8ohm cab off the extension output and they also have a line out for FOH. In an ideal world id love to get my hand on one of those EBS T90's but can never find one
  27. Differences between fretted and fretless are greater with slap that other styles - frets have a hug effect on slap tone - but I'd argue it's less a case of 'doesn't work particularly well' and more a case of 'works very well when used appropriately', one example for me being Bakithi Kumalo on the Graceland album (I may be repeating myself here) 👍
