The covers band, Top Deck, played this afternoon at The Great Northern in Langley Mill, on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border. It was the first time we’ve played there. Four-thirty on a Saturday afternoon is their standard time to have bands on. Unusual, but there was an appreciative audience up for a good time. We’ve got a booking there for August Bank Holiday as a result, so a success.

Just got a replacement for my original Terror Bass 500 (my son destroyed that one by putting ice cream on top of it...) and I noticed the volume control now affects the DI out signal as well as the gain, where the older models only used the gain. Is that a deliberate change or is mine goosed? I used to be able to record with my old model having the volume turned down to zero, effectively using it as a pre-amp box and now I need to have the cab blasting out to record a decent signal. I'm not gigging at the moment but I can see it causing trouble for some poor sound guy too at some point 😀

I have a fault on my SVT 3pro that is similar to what you would get with dirty in/out sockets. I have cleaned the contacts on the sockets thoroughly, even tried linking them with a patch lead but to no avail. I know it is on the power amp section as I have tried different pre/power amp permutations. It does not always do it and it seems to do it more on low volume. A quick flick of the volume control up and down cures it for a while. It is not the bias. There is one more set of contacts, and I have had a problem with this on a hifi amp which was cured by cleaning, and that is the speaker relay. Has anyone had this problem with a speaker relay? It looks a bit fiddly to get at and pop the cover off but I will attempt it If I can't locate the problem elsewhere.

What exactly is the Ultrawave - is it primarily a distortion/saturation/fuzz pedal? I’ve been sure what it is

This is the way forward. I never really got the side dots thing. If you’re looking at the side you’re not going to be looking at the audience. If you need it for a gig get a chalk pencil and draw some removable lines on there!

Thanks for the input folks. I guess I'm stuck in the "a bunch of notes in the hand" after the gig school, but I do like the idea of adding a percentage to the gig fee to cover their fees 😃

dave_bass5 started following NUX-NBP5 pedal. What are the preamps based on?
-
Other than the Aguilar of course, what are the other two? Just ordered this pedal, looks really cool, and after a lot of research the videos of this are the ones I felt produce what I want. I know who Melvin is but not sure what those two preamps are. To my ears they all sound great. Cheers.

First choice for me is Source Audio Ultrawave. Can be picked up cheap used as hugely under rated but need ot be prepared to program it via the app. Analogue choice would be the Jam Pedals Red Muck of EHX Sovtek Deluxe. Both fantastic

It went to hell, got beaten, and refinished, there and then travelled all the way back... But it's legit. What is an instantly recognisable feature is the 2 filled dowel holes at the rear of the body. One near the end of the body, the other next to the neckplate (prior tot 1969 they were both on the centerline of the guitar, the top one was moved because you could see it on a sunburst). The neck is also a typical 1970-1975 neck, the difference in discolouration between the headstock face (nitro) and the rest (poly) checks out. I bet that if you remove the E-tuner, you'll also see an (unfilled) dowel hole between the bottom two mounting screws for the tuner.

Price drop - now 210 Selling this lovely Bitmap in great shape with original box - it's basically mint apart of velcro. These received significant software update last year with additional clipping modes etc. Red Panda has also very convenient web editor for presets. Happy to trade (with price adjustments) for interesting dirt pedals. Bitmap occupies my "loose spot" for additional dirt in pedalboard and I'm just happy to experiment. Basic overdrive I'm covering with Capo. The ones I would love to try are EAE, Damnation Audio, Broughton, Bearfoot, Hiero etc. Would've thrown 3leaf in but what are the chances
