  2. Which bass? Is its output hi- or lo-Z? Where in the chain you want that effect? I have fuzz/dist pedal first after the bass. I have two (well, three) pedalboards, one for both bass output types. I love a X-over, because the lowest bass stays intact and powerful.
  3. This box has a set of three Speakon connectors wired in parallel (using pins 1 & 2) so can be used as an extender for speaker cables, or to allow two cabs to be driven from the same amp One connector at one end and two at the other end The box is made from very solid extruded aluminium
  4. LA Audio high quality active DI box, very solid construction; comes with an instruction leaflet - which is worth reading since the box is deceptively versatile! This works off an 18v rail so can cope with high or low level signals. Power via phantom from your mixer or 2 x 9v batteries Usefully it has a +20db switch to increase the level of low output devices and with 1M ohm input impedance is compatible with piezo pickups The Input will work with Instrument or Speaker levels ('Pad' switch is for speaker level), isolated XLR output for your mixer and a 'link' output to take the signal on to an amp or cab A separate unbalanced output is available as well as the balanced XLR
  5. Excellent solid and versatile active DI box from Canford Audio, only selling since I have three of these It comes with the instruction leaflet Inputs for Instrument or Amp output. Output jack for Amp input or speaker cab alongside. Balanced XLR output to mixer on the reverse. Instrument input 1.8M ohm impedance - so no loading of amp input or pickups Phantom powered off the mixer XLR or by 9v battery

  6. A useful single channel line level isolating transformer for removing hum loops from PA, Mixer etc in a very solid metal case Input on either XLR or 6.3mm Jack - balanced or unbalanced Balanced output on XLR or 6.3mm Jack Switches for ground lift and phase reverse. The third switch provides either unity 1:1 or a 2:1 ratio tap for long cable runs There is a small circuit diagram on the top to remind you what all the connectors and switches do! Quoted frequency range is 20Hz to 25kHz at line level Dimensions 120 x 44 x 90 mm

  7. This is a very tough, but relatively lightweight (7kg) 4U rack case. Very solidly built, with two butterfly catches to hold each end piece in place and moulded, recessed handles There is a shallow version, but this is the deeper one with 46cm between the front and back rack strips (just over 50cm front rack strip to back of case) Overall external size is 55cm wide x 23cm high x 61cm deep Rack screws included Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I'll courier 48hr for £13
  8. I bought this very well upholstered Gator gig bag (current retail £135) for my Guild Starfire bass, but although it fits, its a bit tighter lengthwise than seems sensible, so this has barely been used. It is fairly obviously sized for a Gibson 335 guitar, but will also fit a flying V or a short-scale bass that's a fraction smaller than a Starfire Loads of padding, loads of pockets and a waterproof cover (in pocket 6 on the back, I think - depends how you count the pockets) The padding at the base of the bag can be removed (its on velcro) to give a couple of cm extra space - the quoted overall internal length is without this extra padding fitted Pickup preferred, but I will post it, although I haven't worked out what that would cost, let me know if you're interested and I'll get a price. Internal size: Overall Length: 46.1" (117.09 cm) Body Length: 25.0" (63.5 cm) Body Height: 3.5" (8.89 cm) Lower Bout Width: 17.3" (43.94 cm) Middle Bout Width: 15.4" (39.12 cm) Upper Bout Width: 13.0" (33.02 cm) Exterior Dimensions: Length: 47.8" (121.41 cm) Width: 18.3" (46.48 cm) Height: 6.9" (17.53 cm)

  9. Nice one, they all look decent. I'll look into them in more detail. The IEC socket isn't a deal breaker. I'd prefer it, but it is more that I find it generally a sign for everything from DJ mixers through to multi-fx and keyboards that they've been made with more robust longevity for gigging/roadworthness in mind. I would like 88 keys in some ways - especially for home use, so that isn't a deal breaker either but what puts me off for live use is that extra size and weight (I play some quite packed pub areas and need to transport it in a VW Polo). At the moment, I've found I can get by with 61 keys and octave buttons but 73 keys would be better especially for splitting the sounds, 88 just feels a bit unnecessary for my use.
  10. If you want to have real good demos, watch Stu Harrison at Merriam Music as his demos are really honest, not like at Andertons where they are just yelling and jumping everywhere and touching all the buttons just because they are there.
  11. Hi all I play in a classic punk band (With a few modernish songs thrown in) and I'm after advice on the above So playing Stranglers stuff for instance what would you all recommend that I use to get that "Peaches" type sound ect I have a Aguilar TH350 and a cab combination of a TC Electronic RS112 and a RS115 I've tried a Big Muff and Boss pedals ect but they don't really float my boat and I currently have an Ampeg pre amp and a Sansamp which is ok but not quite what I need may be over complicating things to be fair Thanks in advance 😊👍

  13. Up for sale is my 2011 Loar LH-309-VS archtop guitar in great condition. The stock P90 pickup has been replaced with a Kent Armstrong Vintage Icon Alnico II one, with the pots replaced with CTS ones, and a Switchcraft jack used. The neck angle on this one is perfect, and the action is currently 2mm at the 12th fret, with scope to go lower if required. A wonderful sounding guitar, both unplugged and through an amp, that plays really well. Collection from Beccles, Suffolk much preferred. I do have a box so posting is an option.
  14. I'll PM you. Thanks.
  15. This stack looks monstrous - that being said I wonder if this is being played in your soundproofed basement or you are lucky enough to: - have deaf neighbours or - live in detached house away from society. 😁
  16. The MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe is excellent, very versatile (including a Flanger option), and not overly expensive (sometimes sub-£100 used). Si
  17. Happy to 2nd this. I've been using mine since 2022 and its perfect.
  18. Why don't you go the full Monty with an 88 keys keyboard as these are the real professional pianos? If you like the Nord Stage Pianos, they use the Fatar keybed, which is, to me, excellent, and you can get the Studiologic (same company as Fatar) Numa X Piano GT (wooden keys) as it ticks all your boxes, except the IEC socket, or its sibling with plastic keys, the Numa X Piano 88 or 73. I own the controller version of the Numa X Piano GT, called the SL 88 GT Mk2 and it's a delight to play. That said, look at Kawai with their MP7 SE and MP11 SE (both with IEC sockets), and their portable digital piano (so with integrated amplification and speakers), the ES 920 (again all with 88 keys, but no IEC socket), But don't forget the Roland 88 keys RD-88 EX (no IEC socket) or RD-2000 EX (IEC socket) and the FP-90X (no IEC socket), which is the equivalent of the Kawai ES 920... And of course, the Casio high end digital portable pianos (no IEC sockets) models like the PX-S 5000, PX-S 6000 and the superb looking PX-S 7000 (they all share the same keybed). They are all in your price tag or bit higher.
  19. I'm amazed that a pedal this good and at this price is still not sold. Anyway, time for another bump.🙂
  20. I have a lot of good clamps so it's not any issue to glue and clamp. Easier than screws, no work at the end with filling, though I will need to fill some of the areas. Also just had a call from Penn Elcom apologising that the Armacab won't be here until Weds this week. Somewhat surprised as I wasn't expecting it until Friday anyway, so pleasantly surprised. Rob
  21. Alternatively, put the screws in from the inside. Also, fill gaps with wood filler to make the joint as airtight as possible.
  22. I bought this new in April last year, using it briefly before discovering GR Bass. As such, everything is in mint condition and I still have the original boxes too so shipping is an option. This is an incredibly versatile amp, so much so that I couldn't possibly run through everything it can do here. There are lots of video reviews worth watching, but I am going to guide you to our very own Dood's review here, which gives a good deep dive into the amp. Boss Katana 500 Bass Head (£734) Boss BT-DUAL Bluetooth adapter (£45), so you can adjust settings on the fly via the app Boss GA-FC pedal (£99)l, again, for ease of switching in a live setup Boss VE-22 Vocal Processor Bag (£74), a perfect fit for the amp, power lead and a couple of speaker cables I’ve added some pictures taken today but forgot to add proof of ownership. Hopefully folks will know I am a stand up guy on here and save me the effort of retaking the pictures.
