  2. Yeah, it's not something id want to use for gigs, but when I go round to our singers house and rehearse there it will come in handy. It will also serve as a better OD than my MB3 can produce.
  3. ***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

  4. Selling this bass as I originally picked it up as a backup to my main touring 4 string, a white MM with all the same mods. They’re both great basses but I don’t have as much need for a direct duplicate as I used to and it’s too good to be sat around not being played. I had it re sprayed with this smokey black burst which maintains the look of the natural grain. It’s picked up some nicks and scuffs which I’ve pictured. I love the way it looks and sad to let it go. The neck has a beautiful flame to it and it and the fretboard are unblemished. Fitted with a John East MM preamp, hipshot drop tuner and schaller style strap locks, otherwise all original and in great condition. Will ship in UK for £30 or meet in London area. Open to offers and happy to answer any questions. Thanks! James

  5. My local Gym has started playing crap music as loud as possible recently. Even my AirPods pro's can't cut it out. Im hoping the IE400's might be better as they are a really good fit.

  7. Well - if there's anything I should know by now is how things can change! I no longer play 5 strings and much as I do love this bass (c'mon, no surprise it was meant to be 'The One') I've got no space for it. It hasn't seen time outside the house and it is exactly as I received it, bought new with all case and candy and the mono lightweight case. I've bought a new motorcycle too, and my band is exclusivelly on 4 strings, so I guess shifting priorities and all that... 3.9kg, lightest Darkray I've seen - the Alpha Omega circuit is actually NOT a gimmick and stacks beautifully with board gain stages and effects. Bought October last year, can share receipt at £3k. Seeing it cheapest at £2.9k from a search, it seems this is fair asking price. Shipping at your cost and risk, but much rather hand deliver sharing petrol or similar. Best, Ander.

  8. No , like other players using Fenders, like Ben Shepherd. Come to think of it, the first time I saw Jeff Ament he was playing a fretless Precision, if I remember correctly.
  9. There is an Aguilar TH500 and 2 SL112's in the Classifieds. They will get you as close to a vintage sound as you can get in a sensible, well designed package. If Andy Frazer was playing today, and carrying his own gear, I'm sure he'd be using Aguilar.
  10. Met up with Seva @realmasslove today to sell him a bass case. We both managed to triumph over the tube strikes and had a lovely chat too. An absolute pleasure to deal with. Buy and sell with confidence folks 👍
  11. Seattle? Like Krist Novoselic and his Gibson RD Artist and thunderbirds, or Jeff Ament with his Hamer 12 strings?
  12. I'm sure that's also a factor. But it was harder to find old Fenders in the U.K, and dealing directly with oversees builders was also much more difficult. Transatlantic phone calls in those days cost more a minute than a lap dance does nowadays. Bass players were limited to what retailers wanted to stock. The internet changed everything. When I first went to the USA in the mid-'80's it was a revelation. The guitar shops were chockablock with Fender basses of every vintage. I'd been on the lookout for ages for a nice ',70's Jazz Bass in the U.K. In America I had literally a dozen to choose from locally. They weren't particularly cheap, but they were certainly plentiful. The biggest problem was how to get one back to the U.K.
  13. It seems to work pretty well to me but I’ve never owned wireless headphones before.

  15. Him, and also various young men from Seattle in need of a good wash.
  16. I've done gigs with one of these and a set of IEMs and to be honest it makes everything so easy for a lazy arrse like me. At that price its a steal.
  17. Someone please buy this before I have to! 😖
  18. Hi. Here you go (from the Gator site)... Length 12.50" Width 19.00" Height 9.00" Cheers!
  19. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  20. Just Traded my Overwater with Keir for a Mayones Jabba that I had previously owned. Bass came back to me playing better than when it left & always a pleasure to deal with Keir

  22. IIRC you are not in the UK and therefore unable to bring this to a Bassbash so I can have a go? 😟
  23. Met with Paddy at Carlisle for the umpteenth time this year and traded my Mayones Jazz bass for Paddy's Overwater. Absolutely delighted with the OW and Paddy happy with getting his Jabba back again. Thanks again Paddy!
  24. Ah that would be Pino Palladino!
  25. That's why I called you. Don't tell yourself short. Your posts on speaker design are both fascinating and helpful.
