He has a Trace 1200. With great power comes great responsibility. That amp and the single cab could cause structural damage.

I saw them there on the Moving Pictures tour; I was near the front.

I know this point has been raised many times on Basschat, but I simply can't get away from the fact that ticket prices have become grotesquely over-priced. I wouldn't pay these prices to watch anything or anybody I paid £4.50 to go see Rush in 1980. That's the equivalent to £19.50 today. I've heard all the arguments about increased touring costs ect and I'm not at all convinced. Every age is expensive to those living in it. I'm sure the same argument was trotted out to justify £4.50 in 1980. What makes tickets so expensive is the profit. The rest is a smoke-screen. Concerts and tours have become an industry where lots of different businesses, not just the band and their record company, are expecting to make money from. Ultimately that money only comes from one source, the punters who buy the tickets and merchandise. Like with football, there will never be a reset until people stop buying the tickets and merchandise and turn their back on the whole thing. That won't happen and so on it goes,

Mike bought some strings from me in what can only be described as a perfect transaction. Great communications, prompt payment and he kindly let me know when they arrived. Thanks again Mike!

This is so wrong Martin. The correct course of action is to get a much more powerful amp and a 2nd Barefaced Super Twin and casually ask the rest of the band "how they like them apples?"

Tried the Timmy pedal. With no dirt it's transparent and doesn't filter the bass. As soon as you bring the gain up the bass disappears. Which made me think, another solution would be to use a crossover and only distort the treble, so I'm going to try that.

I’ve had both the Fishman and the EBS and the Stanley Clarke box beats it hands down. It’s optimists for bass, intuitive to use and provides phantom power (which I need for my Nadine).

In January last year I bought my first Sandberg - a VM4 - which I absolutely love. I’ve never played a Sandberg that didn’t feel great in my hand. They are so very playable. The fact that at 7 and a half pound it was 3lbs lighter than my other basses got me thinking… so in August I ordered one of their Superlight basses from Music Store (the artist formerly known as Digital Village). It was supposed to arrive around Easter but actually arrived last Saturday. I’m absolutely chuffed with it! The black burst finish looks lovely over the paulownia wood and they aren’t kidding with “Superlight”. The bass weights in at only 6.2 lbs - and feels both featherlight and balanced on the strap. Even the pau ferro fingerboard looks rich and rosewoody rather than grey-brown! The layout is basically standard active/passive Jazz with two band EQ. This produces all the sounds I would expect and also feels a little more alive and “springy” than many Jazzes that I’ve played - which is how I like it. There’s lots of pleasant top end where it should be but the lightweight body doesn’t remove and feeling of an authoritative bass end. I got to use it properly pretty much straight away as I was playing in the church worship band on Sunday night.Sounded great through the church amp both for finger style and plectrum songs. I ended up playing about four songs at the following night’s Monday Night Jam - ranging from Simon and Garfunkel and James Taylor to Steeleye Span and the bass fitted in whichever style was needed (it was a folk theme night at the jam on Monday). Can’t wait to try it out in some more situations and styles but headline thoughts are that I just love this bass; it’s perfect for my aging old bones. 😉🤣
