  1. Past hour
  2. How about the status-alike one?
  3. Did you have the ME-90B before this?
  4. Hi all, I am very new on the forum, hope I don't break any rule. I have been focusing on playing bass for the past 2 years, after coming from the guitar. I feel my technique is now hurting my progress and I am looking for a couple of hours or a bit more of technique focused lessons. Any recommendations? I am based in Shropshire but don't mind traveling on a saturday. Thanks
  5. All good thanks, me and my daughter went and we are now set up for 1hr a week (30mins each). It's at a music academy (although that makes it sound posher than it is, it is a bit of a shabby building next to a train station) which is quite a cool and inspiring place as you walk past rooms of people learning drums, singing, guitars etc. He was good at tailoring things, had my daughter playing a game linked to an iPad to make horses race as you play the right notes - which had her wanting to carry on with it at home. And had me improvising I IV V chords in root/third/fifth positions as he played basslines - which inspired me to do some new rehearsing routines. And he's already getting me set up to learn some songs that I can play with the Hammond sounds with the Band (Liquidator, Green Onions) rather than purely going down the Grade route. Trinity grades looked more appealing to me but this teacher does ABRSM and as it seems like he won't ridgedly stick to it for all the teaching I think we'll go with that (he can do Trinity if we want but he doesn't have the materials to copy/lend). He confirmed that I am on about Grade 3 for playing and theory. Interestingly, he recommended I don't bother spending time on theory much at this point and to not bother with theory Grade tests until Grade 5 as that's where it is necessary to progress to the next Grades, he said I'd pick up a lot of what's needded as I do the performance stuff.
  6. I have a soldering iron that has been used once. One Christmas, my daughter got a toy tattoo gun as a present, but it didn't work. When I opened it up, I could see that one of the connections had broken, so I bought a £12 soldering iron from B&Q and fixed it. Never used it again. As I recall, the tattoo gun also only got used once. 😄
  7. I now think I know what I want... Either, set up a "memory" e.g. U0-01 with my base sound and then U0-02 and U0-03 with the variations on that like chorus or drive... OR set up a User memory with all three buttons engaging different effects. Positives and negatives to each but this is the kind of thing I was struggling to understand how to get working. I've just been through the guitar patches now with my electric guitar and they're fantastic. Some really usable ones, even when the more weird effects are involved. I'm disappointed Boss has put absolutely zero effort into the Bass presets because the GT-10B from years and years ago had fantastic, usable bass presets and loads of them! If Boss brought those back as downloadable patches for the GX I'd be first in line.
  8. Best purchase I have made in years . https://www.switchelectronics.co.uk/products/at980e-digital-soldering-station-80w-atten
  9. Looks fantastic....any idea of spec, e.g. weight, scale length, string spacing, fretboard radius, pre-amp functions etc?

  11. Done.
  12. I'd video reviewed the original Session combo about ten years ago and more recently the newer Mk3 30W version. I think as a little practice amplifer it's a cracking unit. Of course, it has a small speaker so don't expect window rattling low end, but it has a nice rounded tone - and didn't sound boxy in my studio. The Mk3 also has a bluetooth input, handy for jamming along to your mobile device's music selection or a practice app like Guitar Pro. I'd appreciate a like, share and a positive comment on my video *as a reviewer I am allowed to say what I want, no one sanitises my produce before it is released.
  13. Cheers! Yeah, if I were still gigging regularly, I'd be clinging on to this amp. But I'll be keeping my Little B*ast*rd 30 for recording - probably my joint favourite with the CTM-100! - so I can't really justify keeping both of them.
  14. MARSHALL BB-2 Not to be confused with the original Bluesbreaker pedal, which was essentially a preamp-in-a-box - this is a dedicated, dual-mode overdrive pedal. "Boost" mode is a transparent-sounding clean boost, designed to push the front end of your amp harder, while "Blues" mode gives a much more shaped (and saturated!) tone, reminiscent of the original Bluesbreaker amps being dimed. I bought this pedal back in something like 2010. It was my main distortion effect for a while, and did a handful of gigs with me, but as I've experimented with new effects and different amps, I find myself using it less and less. I still have the original box and user's manual, which are a little worn in places (see pictures); the pedal itself is in excellent condition. Only one thing: the controls originally had black position indicators painted on them, which have mostly rubbed off over the years. Up to you whether you leave them as is, or paint some new ones on! Price includes postage to mainland UK. If you'd like it sent to a different country, drop me a PM. Open to sensible offers!
  15. This? Renault Master,
  16. Hey Barabas (and all) thank you for being patient! For a few reasons we've experienced a lil delay in getting reviews out, but I can confirm that I have submitted my full review and my edited (and produced) video to the magazine! The review includes both the Monaco and Silverstone II so you can compare the two! I can see them both having their place in a wide range of situations and they easily deliver the sort of sound that I demand behind me.
  17. @SumOne did you have that introductory lesson? How was it?
  18. Purchased a rather lovely bass from Tony. Super smooth transaction - international not a problem. Great communications, bomb proof packaging, the whole process was better than I’ve had from many “pro” shops or dealers. Deal with Tony with confidence, he’s good people. Thanks again friend, I love it (maybe not the colour 😄)

    In Memoriam

I know she had been very unwell, but this is still very sad news. 😢
  20. I will now accept £400.00
  21. Fender Rumble Studio 40 combo amp: https://uk.fender.com/products/rumble-studio-40 Only ever used in home studio, don't think it's ever been out the house, so in really great condition. I *think* I've got the box and manual up in the loft, but haven't had the chance to check (so let me know if it's a dealbreaker before buying, just in case...). Collection only from Kingston upon Thames, KT2.
  22. Bought this recently but the wife says it messes up her 'feng shue'! It's a big cabinet, in great condition although I have no amp so cant run it up....it would shake the shed to bits I reckon! 800watts. If you wanted to bring your amp, you can test it...without upsetting the neighbours!. New over £1000...if you can find one....buy this for £400.00 or I will consider swaps for a decent bass or anything else really. 20251112_155359.heic 20251112_155403.heic 20251112_155409.heic 20251112_155428.heic 20251112_155431.heic
  23. It was slow with the 15W antex, but doable with patience and a 4mm tip. I did it many times in the past.
  24. Out of curiosity what is the neck heel width? I'm wondering if one of the Aurok necks might fit. The Z7 I tried in Andertons was absolutely killer, better sounding than both the rays I have. But I have a profound dislike of that lower horn shape.
  25. Great instruments ❤️❤️
