Classic Aberdeen mentality, thinking it can charge "London prices" for things
-
Initially it was “sorry - prices are needing to go up. You know what it’s like”. Everywhere I’ve seen so far has been about 40-60 - which id have been happy with paying. 125 for the same service seems bit of a kick.

What's the next collectable on the second hand marketthen?

There's no doubt budget instruments are better than they were, but they're not on a par with high-quality builders have put out, like some of the brands I mentioned earlier, for example. -

That's sort of my point. Honestly, not so long ago a lot of new inexpensive instruments were often junk. Now, brands like Harley Benton make some superb instruments! Far better QC. And if you do get a bad one you send it back and you can have another one the next day. I reckon about a fifth of my ebay purchases work out. It's an expensive gamble. -

That's what I did, bought the BH800 for gigs/rehearsals as unfortunately my bigger cab was a bit too thirsty for the BH250. In retrospect I could have bought a more efficient cab and the 250 would most likely have been fine. The only thing I don't like about the BH550/800 is the Toneprint selector switch is difficult to get to without moving the two surrounding knobs.

This very morning, some tosh dropped onto the i-Pad from GG, promoting the latest 'Pino' signature Ray. Price? £6000! Really? World gone nuts. -

Paul was selling an album that I was interested in and I asked for a few photos to show the condition, he replied very quickly with some good photos. I paid for it on Saturday and it arrived on Tuesday morning, very well packaged and the album itself is in the excellent condition that was described. A pleasure to deal with.

I use a Stomp so completely change my rig by pushing a footswitch. Patch for slap with compression etc. I do find however that at some venues I use different patches as the tone I ‘wanted’ isn’t the one I ‘need’, if that makes sense! But it’s great to be able to switch from eg a GK to an Orange ‘just like that’ though. Alternatively, when practicing with my P I find when I use a pick by rolling the tone off 1/4 I ‘mimmick’ the tone o had with my fingers. Each to their own of course!
