This is probably the most famous 1 6 2 5 in a blues tune that I can think of, except that it isn't in the turnaround. It is actually in bars 5-8, followed by a 1 4 1 5 turnaround, i.e. bars 9-12. The trouble that you will have trying to use 1 6 2 5 as a turnaround, is that it doesn't really resolve naturally enough for a blues progression. Someone like @chris_b might be able to explain it better. Anyway, see what you think...

He means playing a semitone rundown. If you are in C play I E /// I Eb /// I D /// I Db /// II

Black_Eyes started following Anyone using a PiPedal?
-
Hello! I am using PiPedal and a friend of mine Is using It too since a few weeks. I think It Is a really good project really well optimized. I use a RPi5 8gb but I am choosing which audio Interface I Will use. I started with a PiSound (RPi HAT) and then tried many different Audio Interface looking for the best RTL + Sound. @tauzero that Is not RTL. That's the latency generated when processing the signal (Sample Rate + Buffer). You have to had the audio Interface latency to convert the signal AD/DA. I sold everything from my pedalboard and kept just a Polytune (tuner + buffer) and added the RPi (with the audio Interface) with a MVAVE Chocolate plus.

I get that - why not get GarageBand or online version to make you a bass-less track for exactly the chords that you want to use?

@Rich77 @Phaedrus01 and @HeadlessBassist yours were delivered about half an hour ago. They're looking much better, the weave really pops. I'll send you each some photos tomorrow.

I love Joe Dart and Vulfpeck have some great tunes but I wouldn't go to see them at a massive venue like that where the sound is inevitably poor. I was lucky enough to see Joe with The Olllam earlier this year at The Boilershop in Newcastle, a small venue with excellent sound. It was absolutely incredible and had an intimate vibe that even the best bands just can't conjure when they're in a huge venue.

Origin Effects BassRig Ampeg B15 Fliptop recreation

What would be quite cool is if the middle bottom knob were a headphone output volume control (with cab sim) as B15 has no mid control. -
AI music overtakes real band its modelled on
SumOne replied to SteveXFR's topic in General Discussion
I asked AI to tell me about AI music Royalties (so perhaps the answer is biased?!) So it'll be interesting to see who makes the ££ from it. -
I was asking because of my lack of experience just recently returning to the instrument well last couple of years but thank you, will see if a friend will jam a basic 12 bar and try it but struggling with sounding convincing on my own
-
Thanks that’s all I’m interested in gaining some knowledge
-
Thanks for the advice and information
-
Thanks tried the 2 5 1 while just practicing on my own but still trying to work out a decent 1 6 2 5 just doesn’t work for me at the moment, my lack of skills I think.

Someone requested this following the 'April Joy' solo transcription but I can't remember who or where (it was not on here). I have done a complete transcription this time, the Mark Egan bass part on the tune 'Jaco' from the same 1978 Pat Metheny Group album. 'Pat Metheny Group'. The solo on this is great and all the more interesting when you see it written down. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/jaco-pat-metheny-group/

Anyone's got Thundercat's actual pedalboard pics and settings?
HoorayForAnonyms replied to Tonkin2's topic in Effects
Thats the best picture I've been able to find and I became slightly obsessed with searching through photos of his live sets. There is a very recent tv performance on the Steve Colbert show where you can see he is still using the EBS DPhaser along with the Moog MF-101 and Digitech Whammy. With the settings for the MF-101, he varies the sound a lot both live and on the recorded versions. The actual settings he favours for the MF-101 will sound different if another person copied them since things like a player's attack, the output of the bass etc. will have an impact on how the envelope responds. I've dialled it in by ear but he tends to favour high drive for a dirty sound with a high resonance and lower frequency on the MF-101. The picture of the EBS Dphaser clearly shows the rate and depth but again he varies his settings a lot. The EBS DPhaser in the picture is set to the Long mode which is an 8-stage setting which makes up a big part of that sound. The Moog MF-103 he used previously was a 6-stage phaser but I think any 6-8 stage phaser - analogue or digital - will get you his sound with the right rate and depth! Hope that helps! Look forward to your video. 😀 - Today

Streety2025 started following Ebony fingerboard blank - MAKE AN OFFER
-
Piece of seasoned (20 years) ebony tonewood lumber for double bass fingerboard / ebony components. Dimensions: length 100.5 cm Width 12.3 cm height 3.6 cm Aimed at 5 string basses or for fitting modern c string extensions that require thicker ebony boards. Equally can be cut for an 4 string too. Always good to have too much that can be slimmed down as you can’t add it back on easily! This is obviously unshaped and needs to be fitted by a luthier and is not a pre manufactured part that you hope will fit your instrument. This is deliberately oversized to be shaped to your instrument. make me an offer. Happy to ship worldwide at the buyers expense.
